Brandi these all look gorgeous but I really do like the one where you slapped tissues over the top of the base. It looks so good and then the lights at the bottom. I really love all of them but that one has to be my favourite. Thanks for showing us all your different ways to decoupage napkins etc. I look forward to your videos. Now I’ve got to wait for the next one lol. Havre a great weekend.

I appreciate this sweet comment Melinda! Believe it or not the reason I started my youtube channel was because I was doing home reno projects and would watch videos and people made it out to be very easy. ( now i did have a lot of experience with certain stuff from growing up doing this with my dad) But, when I would do these extra things I was not so sure of. Okay so now you've got me obsessed with decoupage. Everywhere I go I look for napkins LOL I'm thinking of changing my entire of decor right now I'm more into modern however above my price point LOL and I love the look of the items you create that I've got this plastic oval-shaped decorative tray decoupage? Again I apologize for my long comments but any suggestions would be super helpful and appreciated as always much love
a tip if you apply napkins use a plastic bag put it on the napkin and then go over the plastic with a dry cloth from the inside out then you get a smooth napkin without bumps
Brandi, on the last vase project, could you substitute baking soda for calcium carbonate? I got some cool vases on our local Buy Nothing & would like to try this.
I just thought I’d share this tip I just discovered for anyone who has a die cutter, you can die cut tissue paper and napkins and use them for decoupage. They work on anything, and you can color the tissue paper with alcohol markers. You can make your own floral transfers, or any other die cuts you have.
@@thediystruggle You’re welcome ☺ Sizzix has a mini die cutter that is perfect for small dies, and I don’t know if you’ve used Temu, but they have a ton of floral dies that are cheap and work great. Amazon also has dies that are reasonable too. I love all your crafts, and I would love to see what you create with custom transfers. I’m having so much fun with them.
My goal is to create custom transfers, molds, decopage paper,, all that.. its a process, but I am deff working on it, right now I have been creating custom digital downloads that are on my website, and i run sales every so often on them too!!
For the paint? I don't heating up the glass. It makes me nervous. I've had glass explode on me before when it was too hot, going from one extreme to another too quickly, I think. Idky, it happened, really. If it was wood, I would have used a heat gun for the paint portion. For mod podge. I never heat that up unless with an iron because it reactivates it that's been my experience, and then my napkin will move if I am trying to do something else. Just personal preferences, really. Plus, natural drying allows for some cure time between coats and ensures a better bond applying the mod podge, so it's not like it hurts. Just my TIME..LOL. Again, I just prefer things done like this because of what I experienced and what works for me with why i do it this way.. If the heat gun works for you, I say go for it!!! I am just sharing my process. I hope this helps Sharon! Have a great rest of your week!!
Thanks for awl the tips Brandi! I do have a question: how come you need to separate the napkin instead of just using the two layers? Couldn’t you skip the painting white underneath if you just used awl of the napkin? I haven’t tried it yet but every decoupage tutorial I’ve watched they separate the napkin. This is just a curious question.
I explain this is a lot of my videos. I'll break it down for you. Some napkins have the Xtra ply under the top decorative layer. If you leave let's say one ply under the decorative layer and try to put that on top of mod podge the ply UNDER the Decorative layer is going to have the most adhesion to the item your decoupaging. The top Decorative layer may be attached in some sections if the mod podge is thick enough but it's possible it will come up and bubble. This is especially the case if your doing the iron on Method. The mod podge is not really built to go through several layers like that. It can work but it's been my experience it don't more times that it does. Painting the underneath is a preference. I show in many videos with glass and wood. You can leave the glass clear or leave the wood. As wood but the result is transparent and your design will not pop as much as if you paint a white or cream background. I hope this helps!!
@@thediystruggle yes! It helped A LOT! I guess I need to pay more attention. Lol. Haven’t had the chance to catch all of your videos yet. But I’m really looking forward to them! And I completely get why you’d wanna paint a solid white under the napkins. I guess I was thinking that the Mod Podge would just go through both layers. Not thinking that it could be a hit or miss. And I’ve never tried the iron on method. But I’m really looking forward to giving it a whirl too!😃👍👍and I really do love the detail you give while demonstrating. You’ve answered a lot of questions already!!😁😁😁
