When I was a kid, I went to Nickelodeon studios and visited the set. I also met some people from the cast from HI HONEY! I'M HOME. and CLARISSA EXPLAINS IT ALL.
They should do a new show about this show which got cancelled. Where do cancelled sitcoms about cancelled sitcoms go when they get cancelled. MIND BLOWN.
I use to love this show........especially the peppy, fun theme song. I really loved and enjoyed the 90s so much!! ❤️ If time travel were only possible.............
This show was on when I was in the 7th grade. I was really into classic sitcoms at the time, and I was such a dork that I created a "database" of each episode's special guest star. Does anyone remember the teen dude from a PSA about tinnitus?
So many thanks for this, I really wish there was a way to get full episodes of this show. I hate tv, but I really loved this show. Super nostalgic! Thank you for sharing.
This was virtually Gale Gordon's last TV appearance (he came out of retirement to appear as "Mr. Mooney" just once more, for this occasion); he passed away four years later, in 1995.
I loved this show it was I love Lucy, Leave it to Beaver and Father Knows best all rolled up into one, It is ashamed that it did not last longer . Thanks for putting it on You tube
Way before it's time! Why must Hollywood and Network TV keep remaking things that are already awesome and then proceed to ruin them? Why not take good idea's that were originally horribly produced, and remake those? Imagine this show's concept was on HBO in present time, with David Cross, Louis CK, Bill Burr, Lisa Lampanelli, Tim Stack, and a whole bunch of other awesome ass comedians. It would be AMAZEING!
i so remember this show! i always wondered what happen to it! think i was like 7 when it was on, but i loved it! please post more episodes if you have them! thanks for posting this one!!! :)
Apparently (I had to look this up) AJ was originally cast as Skunk Duff and another actress played Elaine. After the pilot was shot, those parts were recast, then the pilot was reshot and that's the one that originally aired. The original pilot aired in 1999 as part of a Nicolodeon marathon "Nick Knew Them When." Hope this helps!
Gale Gordon looks much younger here than he did on "Life with Lucy", which was Lucille Ball's last sitcom, from 1986. This is from 1991. He looks almost like he did when he actually played Mr. Mooney, on "The Lucy Show", which he co-starred in from 1963-1968.
The pilot was then re-shot with the different actors and aired. The original pilot went unaired until Nickelodeon's 20th anniversary "Best of Nickelodeon" marathon. The original pilot aired on Nickelodeon on June 27, 1999
@OTHbabe23 "Future Backstreet Boy A. J. McLean was originally cast as Sidney "Skunk" Duff and was replaced by Eric Kushnick. The pilot was then re-shot with the different actors and aired." So that was not him.
In the series' pilot, two different actors were initially cast in two roles and were later recast for subsequent episodes. Actress Dee Hoty was originally cast as Elaine Duff, but replaced by Susan Cella. Future Backstreet Boy A. J. McLean was originally cast as Sidney "Skunk" Duff and was replaced by Eric Kushnick.
It was on ABC's TGIF lineup, which aired late in prime-time hours and could be a bit more risque for network TV. It only aired once on the Nicolodeon daytime lineup, with the original pilot. Otherwise, it aired on Nick@Nite, which could also be more adult. Nickolodeon and Nick@Nite had a similar setup as Cartoon Network and [adult swim] has today.
@JaTraLu This and "Dinosaurs" back in the early 90's would be a good upload. Remember that show where the father was supposed to resemble a Fred Flinstone, and everyone loved "the baby?"
I've been looking for this show for a while now. It was a great concept that preceeded that huge wave of nostalgic sitcom remakes. I'm convinced if it had come just a couple of years later, it would have been a hit. The performances were a little weak but the concept was great. I'd never seen this episode before - the premier I guess. I almost get the impression Mike wanted to give Honey a happy ending!
The original pilot episode was seen on Nickelodeon's "Nick Knew Them When" anniversary in marathon in 1999. This show needs to be reran on "The Splat", an improved version of "The 90's Are All That" block for classic Nickelodeon shows, mainly from the 90's with a few 80's and early 2000's shows thrown in the mix.
I always like watching this every once in awhile. The sitcom dad is my dad's cousin. Super famous haha. He does a lot of low budget play productions etc. Did the daughter play in The Big Bang Theory a couple times?
I honestly thought I was the ONLY person who remembered this show! This is great. I was begining to think I was crazy and it never exsisted.

There was nothing like Nickelodeon in the 80's and early to mid 90's just the best and brings back so many memories
I wish those days would return! Even for a little while!
Michael bryant yes!!!
I use to love this show........especially the peppy, fun theme song. I really loved and enjoyed the 90s so much!! ❤️ If time travel were only possible.............
The best part of this show was watching to see the cameos. Seeing Gale Gordon reprise his role as Mr. Mooney was priceless.

I loved this show. I used to reinact this. I had a loved the 70's look. I still know the song by heart. Damn shame
This show was so meta before that was even a damn word!
So many thanks for this, I really wish there was a way to get full episodes of this show. I hate tv, but I really loved this show. Super nostalgic! Thank you for sharing.
I Totally Love the ending theme song for Hi Honey, I'm Home!
My all-time favorite show when I was a child. I would stay up and sneak out of bed to watch it. Miss shows like this.
Loved this show then, LOVE IT MORE NOW. Gonna make the 50s mom's dress.
That was surprising entertaining. It's sad that they don't film anything in Orlando, Florida anymore:(
OMG I remember this show. I really liked it. Didn't last long :-(
The daughter is Rita from Dexter.
Wish i knew where to get the whole series
Only 13 episodes of the series were produced in 1991-'92...the first six were also seen on ABC in the summer of '91.
Does anyone have more episodes from the limited run of this show?
Babs, a bit of advice: Don't let yourself go...and keep on wearing sweaters!
This is so cool I watched this show when I was a kid I loved it so much

Until now I was thinking that I just imagined that it ever existed!!!!!
Just learned from Wiki that Julie Benz (Darla on Buffy/Angel) played the daughter Babs. Had to check this out for myself, lol I miss 90s Nick@Nite...
I loved this show as a kid!
One of my favorite shows! Loved the occasional guest stars!
damn, i've been trying to figure out the name of this show forever. i used to love this show. still do. thanks for putting it up

How could ABC of thought this show would make it? It's too weird.
In this version of the pilot, the pudding overflows rather than just bursts out. I think this is better.
Oh my God! I haven't seen this show in 17 years, since it first aired. I used to watch it all the time when I was a kid.
i so remember this show! i always wondered what happen to it! think i was like 7 when it was on, but i loved it! please post more episodes if you have them! thanks for posting this one!!! :)
this is the best show ever

My absolutely favorite TV show of ALL time. When oh when will they put this out on DVD?
HOW AMAZING TO SEE GALE GORDON!!!! Nice to see Mr. Mooney almost thirty years later...
that was actually really good. especially for a 90s sitcom

LOL at what he said before the credits!
More!!
The ending sounds like a Sega Genesis grasping for its last breath.
Dude your comment killed me 🤣

Yeah right! That ending theme is rockin' !

Hi Honey I,m home-you tube

Julie Benz!!! I've been watching her longer than I thought. LOL!
That's Darla from Buffy The Vampire Slayer!!!

+susanfit47 Did they reshoot the pilot?
I think that's Julie Benz, from Dexter, Rambo, and others.
I was actually refering to the daughters on Petticoat Junction specifcally.
omg XD this used to be my favorite show in the world
nice ending theme
Even though it was cheesey, I loved this show back in the day. NICK on Sunday nights in the house.
Thanks for posting this.
I Loved this show I hated when they cancelled it after such a short run
AirAzona this is great with one correction..... it aired two seasons Season two was only aired on Nick.....
Oh oh! It's Mister MOONEY! (Kudos to old Gale Gordon!)
I always like watching this every once in awhile. The sitcom dad is my dad's cousin. Super famous haha. He does a lot of low budget play productions etc. Did the daughter play in The Big Bang Theory a couple times?
THAT ENDING SONG AHAHAHA
This clip was funny! :D
Wow You Tube you find everything. I believe this was Gale Gordons last Tv appearance..
I'm a 90s gal now, and I know all the jive lingo. ...YO!...Brownie? ;)
@foodnetworktv "Food Network Stars" is "Camera Challenge"...
the "sunk" haired boy?? yep!!
Where's the first part of this? I miss this show.
The 70's look? The Neilsons are from the TV approved 50's
I can not believe the daughter is Rita from Dexter..LOL
Or Darla from Buffy/Angel ;)
Julie Benz is one of those women that just got hotter as she got older.
was this ever put on dvd? does anyone have the whole series?
It would be better with a full episode.
What if a sitcom just ended, like Seinfeld, I would've asked.
The ending theme is kind of strange. I didn't know this show was filmed at Nickelodeon Studios in Orlando, FL.
Oh I remember this show...it was actually kinda funny.
What that Mr. Mooney from the Lucy Show?
11:20, well this is your home now, honey. so get used to it.
Production consultant: Suzanne Collins!
does anyone have the remake of this episode?
I made Snickerdoddles!!
Did the film Pleasantville borrow from this? Looks like it
