Great video. I'm from the Springs and I moved away from there in July 1972. I have only been back for visits in 1973, 1977, 1989 and 1997. I liked this drive because it included many places I remember well---my high school (Palmer High---I would have graduated from Coronado High, but it hadn''t been built yet), First Methodist Church, the Holly Sugar Building and what used to be called the Exchange Nat'l Bank Bldg, and the Antlers Plaza Hotel. The biggest change I see is the lack of the many large old trees that shaded its streets and avenues. They should never have torn down the old Antlers Hotel or the Chief Theater--which was originally the Colorado Springs Opera House. Sadly, the wonderful downtown shopping district (mainly along Tejon St.), is gone, especially the Chinook Bookshop. The magnificent Front Range still looms over the city---along with my most beloved Pike's Peak. Thank you for posting this video!

@@allikhaurthis comment was posted 2 years ago so you’ve probably already made up your mind about if you want to move or not, but in case you haven’t, I definitely recommend CS, but I’m biased. I lived in Southeast Colorado Springs for 6 years and there was a homeless camp out by Stratmoor Hills and I would definitely notice a lot of homelessness up by Knob Hill, too. As for crime, I’ve heard it’s gotten a lot worse since I moved out of the city, but while I was there anyway car theft was a big issue. Im pretty sure a guy even escaped jail one time, and not to mention the mad pooper incident of 2017… but from what I’ve experienced it’s a great city. Weather-wise it’s all over the place. Snow in May, hot in December, and vice versa. It’s absolutely unpredictable, but that’s kind of what I love about it. 😅 But yeah, definitely a great place to live. Highly recommend.

As a semi-native I gotta point out whoever decided to vulture-circle Tejon (a great couple blocks for drinking but it pretty much ends there unless Acacia Park has cleaned itself up since I lived there), neglected everything else that is amazing in the city. With the title of the video why the heck didn't you at least film a little of The Broadmoor? No Palmer Park, or Garden of the Gods? Not even an attempt at driving up and down Pikes Peak! Weak sauce. Watered down ketchup.

Hi there! I'm from Ukraine. The war in Ukraine is still going on.
My relatives moved to Colorado Springs in 2022. They really like living in this area. I think about moving to Colorado, because living in Ukraine is so hard. Making money here is so hard. That's why I think about it. But moving from Ukraine is so expensive. This can cost all of my savings! I'm afraid of this (my money may not be enough).

@@allikhaur I moved here from Austin where I lived for 20 years. I can only speak for the neighborhood I live in which is Sky Park near The Broadmoor...west side. I haven't seen any violent crime in my immediate area in the year that I've been here. I see a little bit of petty theft, car break-ins, etc. on Nextdoor but that's about it. I LOVE my neighborhood. I live right next to one of the trailheads on the south border of Bear Creek Park. I cross the park and I am in the trail system where I can run to Helen Hunt Falls, Seven Bridges Trail, Columbine Trail, North Cheyenne Canyon, Section 16/Palmer Loop, Red Rock Canyon, Mount Buckhorn, Captain Jacks and tons more trails.

    Two bears is his nickname..
I also moved up north in Minnesota 2003..
I always wondered what it looked there 🤔.
He said after his mom passed away he just got on a bus and didn't know anyone in that city
I can't imagine me doing that.

Having lived in Colorado Springs, it's not quite what I'd call exciting for younger people -- Denver definitely beats it there. Boulder also feels like it has more charm than Springs. What I will say is that Colorado Springs seems like a great place to retire if you are older and Manitou Springs directly to the west is really charming.
All in all, it's a decent place but not really what I'd consider a place for younger people.
Also, coming from the Northeast, it was a bit weird seeing so many people packing heat while going into a Walmart.
