This analysis is a joke. You're slowing the video down frame by frame and making it crystal clear that Edwards never had her feet set at all. She's literally sliding into Marshall. Why are you lying to yourself?
Video deceptively cuts off before Marshall gets sent 4 feet sideways by impact to spring Bueckers free. Marshall's pick in the SC game doesn't impede the defender, who goes around GM's hip and stays right with Clark. Other camera angles show Edwards' "chicken-wing" elbow ending GM's pursuit with a bang.
At moment of contact, AE's left foot plants and her right foot is 5 feet away, still sliding. Her trunk is also moving and her extended elbow drives GM sideways/off-course. Moving foot = illegal pick. Feet wider than shoulders = IP. Elbow extended = IP. Initiating contact that deflects defender = foul. No? Then GM fouled AE's elbow? Get real.
This was an obvious foul. End of story.
I don't think he's saying that it's not a foul BUT he saying the refs don't normally call it. Also, he shows an almost identical play by an Iowa teammate for Caitlin that wasn't called--because it usually isn't. Refs make mistakes because they're human but CONSISTENCY is the trademark of good refs.
@@gregoryharlston0602 Very different picks. Marshall's arms are in, as coaches teach. Defender gets around the pick unimpeded and stays right with Clark. Edwards' elbow sends Marshall 4' sideways - look where she lands - to free Bueckers. Moving pick + disruptive, forcible contact.
If you call a moving screen a foul they would stop doing it! It would not "disrupt the flow of the game ", because the players would stop doing it. It has gotten so common in all leagues, including the NBA, because it is not enforced, just like traveling and carrying the ball.
Every called foul disrupts the flow of the game. It's the whole basis for the blow-the-whistle-and-stop-play thing. Free throws and disqualification upon 5 fouls keep basketball from becoming rugby. Someone calling himself "Coach Kov" should understand this.
Proper call!
I'm glad you added Lebron in this clip because Marshall "Lebroned" it to get the foul!
Dumb clip to add. Lebron flopping when he's a 280lb man going up against a similar sized human. Compare the size between Gabbie and Aaliyah. Gabbie played it straight up. She meant to try to beat the screen. Smart play by her. And I'm a fan of both teams.
This if obvious offensive foul! Edwards is moving, sticks her elbow and knee out. You’re just salty UConn lost
Moronic analysis. This is why you are not a collegiate official. It was not an illegal moving screen. It was a sliding forearm body check. And, NO! Edwards right foot was NEVER set. You also completely ignored the forearm bodycheck where Edwards left arm is not only thrown into Marshall's chest, but the check is made more powerful by Edwards pushing her right hand and arm into the chest. Clear foul. Not to call a foul in this situation would have been criminal.
Edwards WAS clearly moving her feet at the time of contact and thew her elbow out, you're just a hater. You can clearly see it in the footage you posted. Deal with it 😎!
Yeah I was about to say the same thing. No mention of the elbow push?
I didn't understand that, either. I just assumed that the elbow push was the main reason that the ref decided to call the foul.@@PokemanOkie
@@reviewcentral1209 Marshall's pick in the SC game @1:27 shows her arms held in, and Clark's defender went around the pick and stayed with Clark. Contact didn't impede pursuit. AE's elbow @ 0:20 sent GM sideways, from inside the 3-point line to landing 4+ feet outside it. This guy's delusional.
You got that right!@@gemanscombe4985
Its a blatant foul…the other ones that you mentioned were also fouls but not nearly as bad
Iowa sets moving screens constantly. Clark also travels whenever she does a catch and shoot three or fakes one. This was a robbery. Almost as if the NCAA wanted Clark in the final, if you know what I mean.
i was reading someone say that clark has 10 uncalled fouls and got the ball stolen from her 7 times in the south carolina game.
the stuff you guys make up about clark is so funny.
i’ve never seen clark travel once that hasn’t been called - so either you are lying or not knowing what you are talking about.
Hannah Stuelke has been called for more moving screens then any player in the country this year. And all these players get away with traveling and carrying the ball. Do you piss and moan about that, or just CC?
@@burt7104 my point is a ref shouldn't suddenly make that call at the key part of the game. Unless the fix is in.
@@canadaclaret So give UConn an unfair advantage with 5 seconds left in the game? That's rational.
@@burt7104 it was a marginal call, one that isnt made most of the time, and shouldn't have decided the game. And you know it. At least it spared U Conn getting routed in the final. Let's face it, neither of those teams had a chance.
If the refs call a foul on this, watch CC push off on the SC player and she didn't get call for an offensive foul. It was a moving screen, but why call it late in the game.
It's not even close to worse in history, i don't even know any final four history but pretty sure there been worse calls than "a right call on a bad moment". Most people agree that the foul was there, they just argue that it shouldn't have been called at this time.
That call should have been made...it was an important stretch of the game and the UConn player unnecessarily put her team at risk with a dumb and unneeded pick. That call at any other point in the game wouldnt have people crying or whining. Also...find the clip of the call from the stands, a fans video, that is out there and you see just how egregious it was.
Lastly, speaking with a monotone drone voice which is so obvious youre reading from a script, isnt very engaging to listen to.
Nothin to see. Clearly a foul.
Leave the analyzing to the professionals.
it is a foul, the mens team your using for an example is not oranges to oranges
If you need to whine about it, direct your angst toward the UConn babe who screwed up. She fouled Marshall and it seems clear to everyone.
Terrible title!I’m not from Iowa and I’m a fan of both teams. I saw it happen in real time and I felt it was a clear fowl. I’ve seen slow motion videos of the foul and there’s no question that the call was right. Even UConn fans are starting to accept the truth. What you need to do is delete this and move on and stop the click bait.
Non starter, nothing to see here, move along.
Sorry but it was a good call.
I was thinking the same thing that should have never been called
An objectively correct call is the worst call in Final Four history? Huh?
If the play went the other way, and they called it on Iowa, then all UCONN fans would have been fine with it, everybody just jelious of Catilin Clark success.
Foul, fowl, fawl. Yes, it was.
Clearly a foul, tough to make that call in that situation as a ref. But it’s a foul at the end of the day
