After all this time playing Vampire Survivors, NL still hasn't internalized that damage IS XP, because enemies respawn as fast as you kill them
I just noticed that.
My first win had 11.000 kills, I was level 41.
My second win had only 4400 kills, I was only level 24 I think.
Huge difference and I only won the second one because the crossbow had such a crazy knockback that it kept me alive.
Wasn't even aware that I was close to winning so had a shock when it was suddenly over.
I kind of wish monsters would stick around longer, even if that means you would get overwhelmed on weak characters. Just don't be weak.

I internalize a lot of early upgrades this way. Magnetize? Not having to go nearly as far for more XP, comes in real handy in the late-game. Fire rate and reload speed? Essentially spawn XP faster. This is why summons and elemental damage isn't important at all in the early game. Elemental damage does its best with better fundamentals.
First and foremost: Reload speed and fire rate. Secondly, damage (after the first 2-3+ minutes). From there, you build your character into whatever you want.

Finally managed to win by accidentally making the craziest healing combo.
Got the "next upgrade effect is tripled" chest, took that thing that doubles base projectiles+1, had the shotgun and other upgrades. And insane attack speed/max ammo from other upgrades, plus the fire thing that has a 0.05% chance of giving you a heart when you set something on fire. Plus some thing that might burn enemies when freezing them, plus freeze.
In other words.
It took about 5 seconds per life regeneration.
I couldn't die.
My bullets only did something like 3 damage but there were hundreds per second with stacking fire and freeze explosions.
Great combo and I highly recommend it if the opportunity presents itself.
The Crossbow.
That level 2 Sword rune that inflict 20% damage on enemies around you per rank.
Get that to level 5 (100% damage) and the crossbow, stay on 1 ammo only.
Its the most op thing for the first 5-10 minutes and requires no build.
Terrible with other weapons though.
and also take rune, which knockbacks enemies each time you reload, they litterally cannot get to you and you can stay still for bonus damage

NL on a previous run: splinter with crossbow, killing lots
NL on later run: I refuse to take splinter with my crossbow the first 5 times it's offered

dude you cannot speed up the rate at which you go from 1 to 0, it litteraly ends as soon as you hit 0. We call going from 0 to 1 faster reload speed.
I had such a pogged run of this earlier. I had Spark with the dual SMGs and was taking lightning, ROF, and perks that made it to where I never had to reload. Eventually, I was just taking any elemental perk and go to the point where lightning caused burning and if they got struck by lightning while burning, they exploded. I was melting everything on screen till the very end.
I had a similar run but with the shotgun and all the spread and bonus projectiles, it was so much fun, my second strongest run so far :)
NL had the same build with a spark+shotgun but lost because he had dragon and was a little afraid to just hold down the fire button
The only viable build, really. At least that's been my experience. The fastest gun and lightning plus elemental down the line. Everything else is hot dog water..
Abbys alt fire with shotgun + spread and projectiles + ice damage is my go to, you basically become a sphere of death that can run around without slow movement. Pair it with the push back on reload runes and they basically cant touch you.

The title almost has a “We win. We draw? We lose…” vibe.
bullet speed with the shotgun makes your bullets cover the whole screen; add +projectiles and piercing, muy bueno
The crossbow build was great but it really shines when you increase the amount of projectiles. It turns into a long range shotgun. Less damage but you can kill 1/4 of the monsters on screen per shot. That combined with insane reloads means you just stand in the middle and shoot in a circle.

Btw wanna let you know as a tip for Hana or whatever the shadow clone spawner is her shadow clone attacks are effectively bullets meaning if you got freeze or burn the clone can apply burn of freeze this makes it good for crowd control with freeze and if you have frost bite that's 1%hp of a boss gone from the shadow hitting it so get elementals with her if nothing else seems work
ah yes, i like it when I watch the prev video which is youtube special video, but the progress is from the stream, so I am lost in this multiverse of NL content

Downloaded this game because I saw it on your video. It was death around every 10 minutes in till I got the god tier run with triple dragon egg combo with reaper rounds for activating pure sicko mode for the win.

The Wizard of Legend problem is 100% the fact that you can choose an optimal starting build. They need an option to go in completely randomized otherwise you’re just gimping yourself by choosing a bad build.
Its the same reason why you never like playing old Tainted Lazarus. The character was ass.
Its one thing when you know you’re going to struggle, but its an entirely different feeling when you pick Eden and get a damage and fire rate stat well below average because the RNG gods decided you shall struggle.
You stare back at the RNG gods who dared give your Eden the worst start of all time and you think, “No. I will defy the gods. I will win.”
Versus Tainted Lazarus where you just did it to yourself from the start.

Alittle confused why splinter was avoided for so long. Seems like you could vaporize a mob with chaining explosions with them all packed in during the late game.
Yes that does happen, especially with some pierce and the "Mobs die at 20% HP" It just destroys entire packs at that point.

Ah, Yes. Choosing the character who most benefits from high rate of fire, then taking a weapon with the lowest rate of fire. A phenomenal strategy that certainly did not cost him a victory.
The piercing spreads her dot well enough, it’s not a non-viable combination. Specially if you get reload and multishot upgrades.

Bro, how do you not see the potential of more projectiles? Yes it's like 15% less damage but it's 100% more projectiles, it's insane. It's like an 85% damage increase or whatever.

@@TheThursty100 Did you know there's a rune that summons bullet bursts where you were standing? I know now, and what a damn fun Diamond Grenade run that was. Split and bounce and every size increase I could grub up. I cannot believe that I survived through the final two bosses with no freeze.

Dude. I just got done playing. Take Abby, and the bat gun. Trust me bro. Then take literally anything. Elemental…bullet damage…summons. It’s the most fun build I’ve tried so far. Only issue is if you don’t upgrade right, you could run into the issue of not having good enough aoe damage later.

just bought this game after watching your previous video of it, try playing as lillith and use the bat gun, she's OP. Her gun damage is minion damage as well, so you can get items like 40% minion damage increase, and that will increase your gun damage as well

That one was recorded specifically for TH-cam after NL's streams I think, and the other videos are just taken from the streams, so that's why the one video has much more progress.

Crossbow is probably the worst weapon currently. The damage just doest scale which causes you to be under leveled
The important thing to note is that the crossbow reloads after every shot. So you can kinda go off with like whatever the spread shot is.
Crossbow is fine with certain runes and with miniclip builds. But it’s definitely a slog in the early game.
I was going to type a long rant about how this man's takes on society and ability to game are on another level.
I'm settling on saying by brother in christ right here is cracked.

Pickup range is probably one of the most useless upgrades, I only take it at the very end when there's nothing else
HP also just a throwaway late game pickup, don't know why he's prioritizing these terrible upgrades

This is one of those games with only 2 really viable build paths, everyone who pops off always hit rapid fire elemental (on hit) or they go flat damage. There's also speed CC but that's alot less fun since you really don't kill anything. HP is a bait in this game, its a low mid tier upgrade that appears to be high tier. You have to have your damage set by 10 minutes, or you better have speed CC. The only real high tier upgrades are double shot, damage, frost and reload. Pierce and bounce are fine, but definitely not as good since things die too far away from you and shatter does enough aoe damage on its own.

i somehow both agree and disagree with NL's potato chip analogy. i agree that piecemeal is the way to go, yet I disagree that the people can't be trusted to self impose a piecemeal Strat. some obviously will choose other Strat's, but there will be those who self-consciously choose the piecemeal Strat themselves, as opposed to an unconcerned authoritarian imposing that on others, creating this false dichotomy between logic and freedom.
I mean, the metaphor would work if he was in any way the authority on what people watch. I'm sure there are people out there streaming the game taking what (the comments say) is the most OP build every run (lighting girl with dual smgs and lighting upgrades?'), winning every run, and if that's what people want to see, it's out there right this very minute waiting for them. who's to say if they'll still be interested in watching that build again a week from now, but there's nothing stopping them from going there, getting whatever incidental pogs they get from seeing someone make the optimal choice at all times, then coming back or moving on elsewhere.
