Stan Rogers brought me here. They say you die twice. Once when you physically die, and again when your name is said for the last time. Stan Rogers will live on forever.
I would give anything to have been at that show. The chemistry, the musicianship, the camaraderie between those two is bewitching. I can't watch it enough.
At the Magic Castle in Hollywood, the oldest and wisest magicians will often say that Joy in an act is the most powerful thing you can show an audience. This act has Joy.
This is, by far, the single best version of this song I've heard. This is also the first time I've heard the Small Glories and that shit nearly brought me to tears. Thank you.
Just saw them at the Flying Goose Brew Pub in New London, NH Thursday night November 17, 2022. Never heard of The Small Glories so didn’t know what to expect. They were terrific! So happy they were touring the North East!
Saw them last night in Nanaimo. They sang this song and many other great ones too. They have been playing together for a long time - I don't think they get the recognition they deserve. Amazing show on every level last night. If you ever get the chance, grab it and enjoy two of the best that Canada has to offer.
Stan Rogers did not write this song, of course; it was written by Archie Fisher. Stan did a great version, but let's credit Archie with the masterful writing.
Wow, there's some potent lyrics there. = Pale was the wounded knight, that bore the rowan shield = Loud and cruel were the raven's cries that feasted on the field The knight was wounded 'cause there was a battle. Dead men are on the battlefield.

I think Stan and Archie would be proud! Well done! Love it.

I also came here searching for Stan Rogers, but I stayed for Small Glories.
fuck, i hope so.
Are you kidding me. This is the greatest cover of all time. Stan would be standing up and cheering for this. Absolutely beautiful.
Actually, Heather Alexander made the best version of this song. She had supernatural singing powers!
This is insanely good. Exactly the kind of fire and performing intensity that this price deserves!
Are we going to get a studio version of this on Spotify some day? This is the best version of the song I've ever heard. Kudos to you two!!

That was an amazing rendition! Well done!

Excellent acoustics.. good for you for using d104 mic heads...your sound is awesome! Sounds like 'blood harmony'..bro and sis ??
Ya, they’re so great! They’re not brother and sister. Just two great musicians (JD Edwards and Cara Luft) that started playing together around 2015
Wow ! Thanks for responding
Feel like this should be in a Northern English accent
The original author was Scottish, not English.
@@jonathanmarkoff4469 true but Westmoreland is in England not Scotland.

Weird hearing exaggerated scottish pronunciations coming from american folk singers
That's typical for Renfaires.
