Hello Everyone!
Have you wondered what the differences are between the older LV canvas and the newer LV canvas?
In this video, I share with you the differences!
Although I own both the newer and the older canvas bags, I didn't really appreciate the newer canvas that much. But while filming my video, I realized that Louis Vuitton did not really skimp out on the canvas material by making it more pliable and flexible.
In fact, although quite pliable, the thin, flexible newer canvas actually weighs the
same, if not slightly more.
Initially my mind was made up to return the key pouch, thinking that it was not substantial enough, but while filming the video, I was happy to find out that the pouch is very well made.
Yay me for finding such a hard to find item!

I have an old key pouch from early 2000s on monogram and just got a new one is Damier Graphite. The new one is ever so slightly bigger and I am here for it! My keys finally fit! The littlest amount made the difference!

You happened to get a new model key pouch that was actually made nicely. You lucked out! Unfortunately it has become a hit or miss with this piece but I still prefer the canvas on the older model.

Very good comparison. I bought a cles recently and I realized the newer one is very thin as I owned a older version. I feel like returning the new one and source for preloved one with thicker canvas. But once I return, i will never be able to buy again as this was super hard to get item and worldwide oos. Love the comparison. Have a great day.

Thank you! I felt exactly the same about the new pieces. But when I compared them with the older ones, I realized that I liked how hefty the new ones are even though they seemingly feel flimsy.
I kept the key pouch but returned the mini pochette since the bottom was too wavy for my liking.

was the leather shiny when you got your original items? Because the oils in your skin can definitely make a matte leather look more shiny over the years!

I believe the leather was slightly shiny but maybe not to this extent. I just don't remember. I wish I had taken a photo back then. 😄

The leather is Matte on the new Alma bb’s aswel. They used to make it shiny

Hmm interesting Smama. Learned something from ya! My only complaint on the mp is the hardware. My hardware has worn differently so I have different shades of gold and the ring on one side is almost silver and the other ring is still gold. I cut my chain off so don't know why the wear difference exists.

They are both the new model. They changed the pochette in 2012-

I feel like the newer models hold more than the older ones (since the canvas is not as stiff and restricted) it could be a good or bad thing depending on one's preference. Some will think it is a drop in quality and others will think it is a good thing (flexible and holds more) Good comparison though!

I didn't care for the new models initially, but I realized that the increased flexibility does not equal to less quality.
I now actually prefer the more flexible canvas.
