Great fight! I haven't reached Diablos in my campaign yet, so this was really cool to see you guys take him on. At 22:40 Matt starts off his turn by playing Foresight Slash, claiming he's gonna skip the attack portion of the card, and just use its movement bonus. Two issues with that: 1) Rules state that you can't play an attack card unless you're in range of the monster of that attack. 2) The Foresight Slash's bonus movement makes you move AWAY from the monster if you use it. However, he could've just simply played that card face-down as a sprint to move that 1 node, so it doesn't really change the outcome of anything! :D
At 36:25 Diablos is moved and faces its target at the end of the movement, yet the rules state " Remember, before and after each node of movement, the monster rotates to face its target ..". This would have made the Diablos move differently. I like this game and went all in, but the rulebook could use some work, add to that there's a lot of errors on the cards in the game. And then here's the developers, who can't even play by their own rules...So many small mistakes. No wonder there's tons of posts asking rules questions, videos like this just add to the confusion if there's this many errors made in a showcase game. I like the game but i hope they put some more time into rule clarification and proofreading for the Iceborne edition.
The amount of times a designer/developer has made mistakes while playing a game is too much to count...this isn't a steamforged problem, this is just a practical reality of playing complex systems.
If im correct i see elemental dmg are done to monster after token is placed and has nothing to do with dmg that is decreased by monster armor. "When elemental damage is caused, draw an elemental damage card and reduce the monster’s health dial by the value of the card drawn"
I’ve been seeing Clash of Cultures in the background and keep waiting for you to cover it. Picked up that copy recently after getting interest from seeing it on your shelf and love it. Only had three games played so far, but I think it has big potential for me.
Is there any chance we could get a "Play this not that" comparing Monster Hunter World and Horizon Zero Dawn Alex? Or are they different enough that their not comparable?
Primal is going to be awesome! I can’t wait for it. This just makes me want Primal The Awakening more. This solidifies I made the right choice backing Primal over this game. This game looks like a lot to keep up with.
I will say. I do like how much the creatures and player characters can move around on the board. That is a cool feature, but again, Primal The Awakening keeps gameplay tight and focused.
Tell me if you feel differently, but I get the impression all the iconography and the business of the game contents make the game feel convoluted, cluttered, and daunting to approach. I get that a lot of thought was put into this game, but there just looks like a lot of texts and things to keep track of.
I'm completely new to board games but been a long time fan of MH franchise. I really enjoyed the game. I don't believe the game is convoluted. It definitely is daunting to approach, but everything serves a purpose and feels true to the franchise, in my opinion! If anything, SFG could do a better job with video tutorials and speak a little slower in some of their videos.

Just getting to Diablos now in my campaign. I have been over the moon for this game. I play mostly solo with charge blade and insect glaive.

17:50 - if it's coop and throwed number is good for players stick with it!

Is there any way to buy a copy of this game outside of kickstarter?

The monster iconography takes some time to learn, it's not the easiest, but once you do it's not that hard
