China, Japan and the far east in general should be in the base game IMO. That would be a DLC that was actually worth paying for rather than the useless crap they have been serving up of late.
I disagree to an extent. The most recent dlcs and flavour packs have been great. The main issue with expanding the map is the late game slows down too much even on speed 5 (most likely due to the amount of characters). They should only expand to Japan if they have a solution for that.
Another issue I see is that this is adding breadth without adding depth. The game’s mechanics are fairly dull and shallow as it is. Playing in different parts of the world doesn’t really feel as different as it might seem. Such a dramatic geographical expansion without proper enhancements to the depths and flavor of the game will just make the Far East gameplay no different than anywhere else
@@theoderic_l Paradox is famous for adding features that have no depth. Just look at all the equipment designers HOI4 now has, It looks deep but it's really just something min maxers enjoy and the AI is too stupid to make use of.
