Thanks Robert. I've never seen one from there. You get a lot of baby ones at Brixham at times. But can't remember seeing one in Torquay. Good sign for the future
Nice one. I fished it last night with this video in my mind and I had the same thing, a hit, and a snag. Thought it might have been a conger but when I grabbed my braid to pull for the break it seemed to ‘pop off’ and a fish came up, massive topknot, was thinking how similar it was to your cuckoo haha.
Probably a tadpole fish. I had the same during this session and beat myself up for hours. Was on for a couple of minutes and pulled the hook. Next time!
Great video, I live in Torquay and just getting into LRF fishing, you have really inspired me thankyou. Which pier was that In the first half with the steps and then the rocks?
@michaelhurst1353 only advice I can think is keep fishing smaller and smaller until you hook up. Size 18 and s slim piece of isome and you shouldn't miss.
I use metals from temu sometimes. They catch. And feel a lot better when you snap off coz they're cheap. Never used plastics from there. Have a look at C.A.N lures and AGM Lures. They're better for plastics i reckon
Congratulations on the Cuckoo Wrasse, amazing markings especially the edge of the fins.
Cheers Alan. One of the prettiest fish in the UK.
Congratulations on the Cuckoo Wrasse, an amazing LRF catch 👍
Cheers Steve. Don't think I'll see another one any time soon
Wow that cuckoo wrasse looks amazing, well done...😄
Stunning isn't it.
@@LRFandHRF 100%...
Great catch, very well done. I’ve only ever seen cuckoos caught at a very deep Purbeck mark.

Thank you
Beautiful catches as always.Keep up the good work mate!🔥🔥
Thank you. Will do.
This couldnt have come at a better time. Im in torquay on wednesday and will be able to fish for an hour or two.
Good luck. It has been very slow. But anything can turn up in that place.
Great vid there Dan , a Cuckoo in January, awesome, very well done getting him out mate
Cheers Bob. I'm now taking up golf.
@@LRFandHRF Haha, I hear there was Rockcook come out from there yesterday, has summer come early??
@bobbananas289 oh nice. I had one there in January before but from the inside. I don't think summer ever left. I love global warming ha
@@LRFandHRF haha
Further to yesterday I’ve seen your trip to Hartlepool vid - that was great too - I’m jealous of mackerel fishing too although they small❤
Hartlepool is worth a visit. I've been there three times and there's a videos of each. The other two are in the Winter League Campaign Playlist
Lovely cuckoo. Caught one in virtually the same spot last year, couldn't belive my luck.
Amazing. Well done. I didn't know amy had been caught. But good to hear they're there regularly
Nice one Dan! Tomorrow we’re in Plymouth looking behind ladders for two spots! 😂👍
Cheers Steve. I'm off to try for an LRF dogfish. I know who has more chance tomorrow haha
@ fingers crossed mate! Where you going?
Not decided yet. Will see where the wind takes me in the morning
Fantastic again mate well done on another lifer keep it up 🎣🎣
Thanks. Just after two saltwater lifers this year to take them to 60 and 80 in total including Freshwater. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

@@LRFandHRFread my comment again maybe you missed the end!
Yeah. Was walking when I read it. Stopped reading at popped off. Thought you'd lost it haha. Not a tadpole then. Think mine was. Maybe a little conger

Thank you. Hopefully you start catching a few when you go. It was the left side over the wall.
@@LRFandHRF thankyou, never walked over that side!!
Well done what rod and line are you using please
Thanks Mark. The rod is a Xesta Extra Tuned Solid Alternative. The line is Majorcraft Dangan 6lb
Thankyou
Wow that’s a slow session? I went lerfing today lost 2 rigs and a spool of fluro that came flying out my bag 😢
That was a painfully slow session that. It's the time of year it all slows down though so can't grumble.
@ blimy! I only had 3/4 bites yesterday. Seem to be having the bites but no hook ups
Good that you're getting the bites though. I fished Weymouth all day yesterday. 5 bites. 5 fish in 8 hours. It was a slog
@ I do keep thinking I’m doing something wrong with the bite to hook up ratio
@michaelhurst1353 only advice I can think is keep fishing smaller and smaller until you hook up. Size 18 and s slim piece of isome and you shouldn't miss.
Can I ask what rod do you use?
You can. It a Xesta Extra Tuned Short Solid Alternative
I’ve bought loads of rubber lures and jug heads, hooks and metal lures from Temu - do you think you they’re any good?
I use metals from temu sometimes. They catch. And feel a lot better when you snap off coz they're cheap. Never used plastics from there. Have a look at C.A.N lures and AGM Lures. They're better for plastics i reckon
