My field of Dream Psychology has led me to lecture as well on finding wonderful sleep. This is the FIRST doctor whom I have heard ( in over 40 years) mention COLD FEET as a BLOCK to falling asleep! Brava! Such simple aids have often been resisted or unknown by sleep researchers for decades! Sometimes it takes a slim woman! What a delightful doc and interview. Thank you, Chuck.

Thank God for these Dr's there is actually a Dr on youtube giving horrible advice. I looked Dr berg up and he isn't an MD he is a chiropractor. Idk how what he does is even legal. Thank you for this Dr, Barnard and all the other wonderful MD's

Dr. Berg has his place in this arena. Although keto is not for me, I appreciate intermittent fasting and the things Dr. Berg teaches about vitamins, minerals and diseases. I’m a naturopathic nutrition and wellness coach with a minor in biology, and Berg has taught me plenty outside my college years.

Talk about having a plan! My husband and I have struggled for years in Italy where we spend 2 tango-dancing months a year with fabulous people to find the right words to decline such sacred foods as cheese and veggies soaked in salt and olive oil. Waiters feel sorry for us, and several hosts take deep offense that we do not say an easy "YES" to their exclamations like, "Isn't the Italian cuisine the BEST in the world?" Hi, great podcast! How can I remove the wax coat on apples, so I can eat the skin and get more fiber? Is the wax coating edible? It is really hard to get rid of it. Thanks for your help.
I just wash my apples, cucumbers and other wax coated veggies with the hand soap and rinse them thoroughly. Believe me, the wax glaze is removed after that.
There are also natural fruit washing soaps that are sold in many heath food stores or there is one in Trader Joe's. I also use a fruit brush to scrub them along with it!
Question I saw a video by dr grundy saying that lectins in some healthy fruits and vegetables causes leaky gut , almonds because of the skin on them and spinach, kale ,and chards have oxolates in them , it's more ,so can you elaborate or have dr. Barnard explain that please!
@@Jansenwilliams6494 Yeah no problem! Also, forgot to answer the part about oxalates. Those are an issue if you are prone to kidney stones, but most people are fine with them.
@@Jansenwilliams6494 Yeah no problem! I hope being plant based is treating you well. I'm going plant based soon myself; I have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, but I seem to be able to do foods with lectins as long as I pressure cook them, so there are work arounds even if someone does have a mast cell disease. I haven't fully made the switch yet but my symptoms seem to actually be improving with just eating plant based half the time! Yeah with Dr. Gundry, sadly he's opted to ignore a lot of the science, and he's done it mainly because it's profitable to him. Yes lectins in certain amounts are bad, but for normal people, you'd only get to those levels if you eat raw kidney beans (not even any other type of bean, just kidney beans). And the cooking process almost completely destroys them, to the point that they're negligible. So, just make sure if you cook kidney beans from scratch that you either use a pressure cooker or do it on the stove; a slow cooker won't reach a high enough temperature. I hope being plant based is working well for you! Good luck!

Dr. Gundry's claims aren't based on science. The only people who have issues with lectins are those with mast cell diseases.
