You see this early ability of ai, and it's clear that Hollywood is in deep trouble. How could this not replace thousands of jobs in the motion picture industry? It already surpasses the special effects and set creation capabilities of humans. So we enter into this new world where wonderful new things are created, yet nobody has a job..lol. This is very well done by the way.
I think the thing is that they will worship AI instead of the Hollywood actors!
I've been working in the VFX world for 30+ years now and have yet to see a CG human face, AI-constructed or otherwise, that doesn't lack that certain indescribable something that our brains perceive as human.

You won't need to. You are looking at this through a obsolescent paradigm. Movies and TV shows that are produced and paid for are about to become as much of the past as cart wheels and flint axes.
You will simply talk to your butler robot and say, 'Show me a film, about 90 minutes long featuring a young man with blonde hair in the starring role set in the 1940s.
Make it a mildly humorous, adventure film, suitable for young and old.
Include lots of action and plenty of plot twists and a love interest.
Include a talking parrot as a prominent character and set the whole thing in New York and Copenhagen.'
Instantly, you will have yourself a private movie to watch at no cost.
No actors, no director, no make up, no special effects, no cameramen, no key grip (whatever that is) and no distributor or any cinemas involved.
Same for music, tv, education, novels, children's books, scientific discovery, instruction manuals, architecture, engineering, game design or anything else creative.
All these activities will very soon be relegated to the status of hobby. And that will be a hobby where the hobbyist will always know there's a much simpler way of achieving a better result much quicker.
This will be truly demoralising.

Nonsense. An utter waste of my time, but the really scary consideration is that one day not too far from now these sorts of AI stories will be something you enjoy watching...
People here commenting are really only impressed because they're dazzled that a computer created this. On its own as a short film it has hardly any value at all.
That’s a really nice opinion you have there but I think you missed the point.
I disagree, in fact I think this was a good story despite the technical limitations of current AI video generation tools. A sort of reimagining of Ursula K. Le Guin The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas
I’d be impressed with this even if it were 100% human generated. It’s basic, but it’s powerful. A human made all of the creative decisions, including prompting an image generator until characters and environments matched the story they were telling. Luddites gonna Luddite 🙄🤷

You are being unfair, this is one of the best results I have seen. You should be wary of AI, but for now it is far from automatic and this film represents a lot of work.
