You're on a late night drive through the rural midwest headed to you're hometown. You see a gas station you don't recognize. Running low on gas, you decide to make a quick stop...

As someone who lives in Indiana I can confirm this is all accurate. the corn... the windmills... the covered bridges.... the creepy gas station in the middle of the cornfield, all of it! so... be careful not to stick around too long at one if you ever come through.
As soon as I saw the main menu screen I immediately said "Oh, that's for sure Indiana" LOL then the "South Indiana" came up on screen and I lost it laughing. You live in Indiana long enough and you just know it when you see it.

@@wallet_ I missed the intro but when I saw the corn fields and wooden bridge I instantly thought that looks like Indiana. Then I saw the Indiana flag and was like yup that's home.
I live in Southern Indiana. This is not Southern Indiana. First, we have hills. Lots of them. Second, we don't have windmills. Somebody has badly confused which half of the state has what. The area that's flat, corn, and has windmills is in the Northwestern part on the way to Chicago. Except they don't have the covered bridges up there. Or that many trees. It's like somebody made a mishmash and figured, "nobody actually lives in Indiana who plays video games, so nobody will care," and created a game.

Usually dead bodies in video games aren't a problem at all.
But this one's are extra unnerving, very creepy.
things got very creepy starting in that blue freezer looking room...the twisting hallway with the TVs reminded me of cry of fear
I think they missed a potentially great jumpscare at the end. Instead of going to static at the end, it should of revealed your character is still watching & the second person we play as was the guy before us...then BAM monster jumpscare

I watched another playthrough from Manlybadasshero and when the lights and alarm started, he looked at the eyeless girl and said “Not my problem!” As he quickly got out of there lol
I liked it in some way. Good, positive experience ;) But seriously I had real fun after: "What's with the head? You don't fancy it anymore?"

That road was, like... 99% of the road in Southern Indiana.
But it's not demons you need to worry about in Southern Indiana... It's the crackheads.

The beginning with the corn and the creepy old bridge reminds me of John Carpenter's "In the Mouth of Madness" (1994). One of my all time favorites. Thanks for another awesome video Chris!-SLD

Thankfully, I haven't ever been lost in the American Mid-West. I have, however, been in a car with a driver who was lost in the American Mid-West. Eventually he accepted the fact that MapQuest was off its rocker and we got back on track :P

The long shelf section would've been better if it had some gameplay to it. But I'm not sure you can die in this one so that might make it harder to work.
There were some good scares though. The girl in the freezer got me good.
I think maybe near the end the being possessed you to go and "let it free" by leading you to where the body was and give it the hacksaw do it could be free from the body and that's probably why it made you walk slow

Every time I see a horror game where the player inserts a VHS Tape and then controls the character in said VHS Tapes. I wonder if they will do the 2nd-Person Perspective method that I've done in my games.

Rewatching this the second time, and I have to say that this game has the potential to be not just good, but great. The premise of the game gets explored in quite a diverse way, with many different interesting settings. I liked the TV screen "puzzle" but think it could've been made more challenging. The "chase" scene with the endless shelves seemed to lack purpose.
With so many gas station/found-footage time-travelling concepts out there, a stronger conclusion would've made Night Stop really stand out. There was no distinctive climax, and the monster wasn't scary at all. What are its origins, and why did it want to need to grow its body with human parts? Did it co-opt a poor gas station attendant into murdering for it? Why did the toilet require a pentagram? More interaction with the unseen killer would've been cool, I think. Or even playing as the killer while he took the women (not just mopping the floor).
Still, I love games set in rural, isolated places, and CJU makes any game worth a watch.

I wonder if game devs intentionally use the five pointed pentagram, instead of the proper six point? The five is supposed to ward off bad juju, not summon it as the six would.

an atmospheric little game but unfortunately nothing but yet another pile of wet cardboard from the same bag of clichés every other horror game seems to use
not even the illusion of choice here in what was just another doomed situation simulator
a completely linear sequence of events where the player is dragged around on a leash against an omnipotent enemy
at least it didn't take place in a lighthouse although gas stations by now are a solidly overused unimaginative trope as well
oh and "horror game is when bad ending"
