Charlie was my friend since I was a little girl - the dearest, sweetest soul I have ever had the honor of knowing, as a matter of fact It's bittersweet seeing him in these videos playing all the "oldies but goodies" I grew up loving ...and I'm grateful to you for sharing them & giving me the opportunity! While I wouldn't trade it for the world, I'd give anything & everything to have him back because this world was made more beautiful just by his being here. 💔 p.s. I DO "know what it means to miss New Orleans"! Laissez les bon temps rouler!
+Melissa Ann Sounds like you think Pete Fountain has passed away. He is alive and kicking in New Orleans. He does not play any more though. Just talked with him last week. JimV33 - Jim Valentine
+Melissa Ann I'm sorry, I didn't see Charlie name right at the beginning of your note. Yes, I loved the way Charlie Lotus played, very smooth and could swing. Jim
I play the Pete Fountain model clarinet from LeBlanc. That model was replaced by the Big Easy model. The horn is a 15mm large bore. Mine also has the articulated G#, forked Bb and gold keys like Pete's. The Big Easy from LeBlanc should still be available, you can also check EBay. As with most clarinets, try before you buy, they all play and feel different from each other, even the same model. Jim V
Thanks, I really feel I'm playing better now. I just released a CD this past December. If you like Pete's style I'm sure will like my CD. There is more info on my website with sound track samples. Thank You Jim Valentine

Oh no,, not at all! I just don't know if I can go to the club now that Charlie is gone. I couldn't get thru the intro without sobbing!
