I have got to get over their and try this! Looks like a blast…and thank you for being such an excellent teacher and outdoorsman in a whole, I know some charter captains that aren’t so pleasant. To see you help out with peoples gear and land fish for someone all while fishing yourself and filming, just awesome. Keep up the great content.
Amazing video as always. Appreciate you sharing so many tips- helped me to catch my first steelhead while there was still open water! So thank you! Maybe I’ll see ya out there sometime. Tight lines 🎣
loved this video eric can't wait to see more like this. have caught a few browns through the ice hoping for many more! thanks for everything you rock brother!
Never done this and cant wait to try. I catch some stocker rainbows thru Ice around my neck of woods. Can't imagine steel AND browns thru ice. Next year its my goal to give this a try!!!
Looks like fun. I was raised in Kenosha. Spent many days fishing the rocks, harbor north and south piers and in the spring dip netting for smelt. See you also feature Lake Geneva.
Big beautiful fishes. Burbot's spawning season is near a peak here, so it's mostly ice fishing burbot at dusk now, but when spring progress and there is no half a meter of snow and water on top of the ice it is good time for trout.
Ice fishing solo is not easy, especially filming in cold weather. Great fishing over there where you are. You almost lost your rod and phone on that big hen steelhead. Great set up you’re using. World class browns and steelhead fishery there. You are a lucky guy, Eric. Great video once again.
I don't know how you're not covered in people after posting these videos. I'd be fishing just down the way from you every morning! Gonna try and make a trip over and catch a guide session with you before you go full time TH-cam star. Love the videos!
Just found your channel unbelievable video definitely need to try that. Real nice fish congrats. Do a lot of river fishing for steelhead never ice fished for them
Was out there this weekend with the rest of us that watched the video. No bites and didn't see a fish caught. Based on the current ice thickness and snow coverage, Eric's video was shot several weeks ago. Weather was great though and I wasn't going to catch anything from my couch. It was worth the shot.
Haven’t caught one thru the ice yet, been trying this year for the first time but I can’t manage to. Was sitting right by where u were in Kenosha the past weeks and also Racine but no luck. Not sure if it’s my spawn sacks or what, I can catch them fly fishing on the root like it’s nothing so it’s weird. Should also come out here to Geneva, it’s safe in most areas and people have been hitting the lakers! I am going to try that this year for the first time as well.
Great video, I live in MI and am an avid brookie and brown trout fisherman. I found a bayou that holds trout. I'm looking forward to ice fishing once we get safe ice. I planned on using minnows and my own tied spawn sacs. I noticed your spawn sacs seemed to ride up above hook, do you hook them on a certain way and how big of minnow? The water I will be fishing has potential 8 lb river browns but majority are 1 to pounders. Thanks fir any advice.
Never caught a brown thru the ice! Definitely on my bucket list! Why do your hen browns have eggs still? Here in Michigan they are all skinny and spawned out by December.
I have never caught a brown trout let alone through the ice. My to do for sure! I want a big brown for my wall. I'll be coming from Midland Michigan. I fish the Saginaw bay a lot and Michigan as well as Erie
Hey man awesome video! I used to live in Sheboygan. Just wanted to ask a question seeing as most were released. When is it not legal to keep trout? Was looking through regulations and I got confused. Some insight would be helpful as I’m in Wisconsin often.
How long of a leader do ya use ?! I went out last week and hooked into my first ice brown but when I got it up to the hole my line sliced from the ice . I was alone and I was using about 2 ft 6lb test leader
Rumour has it some home owners come down and yell at people fishing the ice infront of 'their water'. Why can't we all just get along, and just enjoy people doing things. At best it starts a conversation over coffee, and zero chance your ice lines will end up by their dock.

Wont find many guys cool enough to throw out spots for people 👍
Thank you for the wonderful comment! Love seeing and helping others catch the fish of a lifetime!
Caught a few with one of your guides a few years ago. Headed out there this weekend.
Wow the multi task master!!!! Way to go getting the shot for us!!! Changing battery and everything. That's awesome!!!
I miss this area of fishing, good ol’ days! Awesome video keep ‘em coming, thank you Eric!

Never caught a brown through the ice over here in Michigan. You guys in Wisconsin have a great fishery.
Their dnr actually stocks fish 😂
Respect for releasing the egg wagons
Really cool of u to give that guy some of those gold spawn bags !!!
Just found your channel unbelievable video definitely need to try that. Real nice fish congrats. Do a lot of river fishing for steelhead never ice fished for them
Just got into ice fishing last year, gunna drive up there from chicago to do some of this when it freezes over.

Thanks Eric. No browns through the ice for me here in Southern Alberta.

I am going to buy some of your poles to ice fish steelhead in Pa. What reel, brand of line and lb test are you using??? Your videos are great. Thanks
My friend and I are going to come up there and try our hand next week. How is the current ice situation?
Battery dies…. Bout lose pole, smashed phone 😮😂 great video
What’s with the hospital gloves 🧤 curious if it’s not to get your scent on the row ? Great video thanks🎣🎣👏
Keeping as much scent off of your eggs as possible can definitely help!
Never caught a brown thru the ice! Definitely on my bucket list! Why do your hen browns have eggs still? Here in Michigan they are all skinny and spawned out by December.
Amazing videos brother! You are the man! What size line Sir?
Amazing that place isn't crawling with people with meatdown - beatdown - smackdown - crackdown going on multiple times a week there!
Meatdown Beatdown Smackdown Crackdown😎
Bucket list trip to catch a brown through the ice

How long do you let your spawn sit before you change it out and put fresh bait on.
About an hour or so. Sometimes even a little longer
How long of a leader do ya use ?! I went out last week and hooked into my first ice brown but when I got it up to the hole my line sliced from the ice . I was alone and I was using about 2 ft 6lb test leader
What size hooks for the minnows and spawn?
When you listed the harbors in our that are good in our area you didn't mention Port Washington. Is it not as good in your opinion?
Port Washington is a great harbor for open water casting. It does not freeze over because of the warm water power plant
So cool!
I gotta ask about the milking gloves?
Amazing!
Nice Eric ~ Jake
Great Video..
Thank you!
Great catching.. Like.. 👍

By yourself?! There's plenty of us that would love an invite
Bro . You 100 percent deserved to lose that 2nd fish. Lol. Seriously though great vid bud !
Raw shrimp?
Great video
Thanks
When video is more important than the fish
I will be up in 2 weeks
Wow don't kick the camera over. Dude nice fishes
How is no one else here? Is it private access only
Hog...hog..100%!!
What’s the point of preaching good fish handling etiquette when your just gonna take 2 minutes and drain their eggs? Lol. No chance those fish survive
Buddy…. You obviously don’t know what you are talking about 😂 spread negativity elsewhere.
