There it is! My Hero Academia's hook, line and sinker! The first 2 episodes are one my absolute favorites in how well it establishes the main theme of being a hero and heroism in general. I love it so much and I'm going to miss this manga/anime. 😭

Funny is, I always like "broken" characters like Bakugou exactly because they to me are the ones that most resemblance real human behavior, with flaws, pride and mistakes, like vegeta, killua, or even hisoka. And they hit it on the nail here 13:42. There is something on the future (actually more than one moment) that will develop his persona greatly.
So hyped for you guys to watch this series! You're going to absolutely love all these characters. As much as you cry at the sad stuff, they'll be a lot of happy tears as well!
10:51 Well I mean it makes sense… he was getting attacked and (impressively) held up against his attacker. While Deku on the other hand (despite it being courageous and all) recklessly threw himself into an extremely dangerous situation, where in any other instance he would’ve not only gotten himself either badly injured or possibly even k¡II£d but potentially gotten the hero’s who rushed in after him badly injured or possibly even k¡II£d. This particular instance was the exception where it turned out to be a positive, only due to All-Might being there. Lol So while this is one of my favorite moments in the show and is what got me officially hooked to the show, them scolding Deku there is 100% warranted. (As well is them praising Bakugo warranted too… cause he’s just a victim who was able to hold his attacked off long enough for help to arrive.)

Great reaction as always! Looking forward to share this journey with you guys! A few things I noticed after watching this episode over so many times: 1. Deku smiles when he tries to save Bakugo, just like All Might said he does when he's afraid. 2. Bakugo confronts Deku by coming from behind him, then he turns around and moves forward and encounters All Might. It's symbolism for him leaving his past behind and moving forward into the unknown and his future. I want to share the story of my personal All Might or as I call him, All Mike. He died saving others and had so many traits similar to All Might, especially the booming laugh. Depends on what they mean by 'crazy depth' tbh. Yeah, he's not Thorfinn, but personally I think there's a lot more to him than other comparable shonen protags. (Also, it's only episode 2 lol)
Deku not changing much over the course of the series is kinda the point of his character, though. He is a hero and always was a hero, but just didn't have the power or experience necessary to back it up. But his mentality and personality were perfect from the start, that's why All Might chose him. Doesn't make for a particularly interesting arc, unfortunately
When a reactor takes to Deku immediately and cries in the first two episodes, that's the sign that they're going to absolutely adore this show. What a great fit 💚 My Hero is very shonen, but it is also very shonen subversive, if that makes sense. Be prepared for lots of juicy nuance and flipped expectations!
Don’t tell them… Jesus you fans can be annoying af sometimes. Imagine if someone told you this on the second episode? “Hey Bakugo is gonna be an integral and BELOVED character throughout the show”. Pretty much spoiling their character arc

So what could winning non stop at the same peak possibly infer about an entire character arc? With no drops and dips as data points. Bakugo got himself caught up in a villain's attack and fought back for a good while. Deku jumped into danger recklessly. Of course one of them will be praised and the other scolded.
Deku waited his whole life for someone to say those words to him and for them to come from his hero really gave him hope, even his mother told him she was sorry he didn't have a quirk

No. Those heroes were there, and were doing nothing to help Bakugo. They don't get to scold anybody who actually helped.
