    Pro tip. Remove any words that say deposit. Replace with retainer. My Lawyer explained that deposits in Canada are refundable by law. Now I dunno who would take it to that level but it’s a pretty simple word exchange. ☮️

    Can a freelancer draft a retainership contract like this ? Or should they own a company for that ?

    Wouldn't it make more sense to pay a monthly fee for a software that allows you to charge processing fees to your clients?

    • @StefanoLombardoYT
      @StefanoLombardoYT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It most definitely would but unfortunately even monthly platforms like Honeybook… even though you pay a monthly fee they still charge processing fees on top of that

    • @hahajoel

      @@StefanoLombardoYT right but you can charge it to your client instead of you having to pay for it. Depending on how much business you do, that fee can really add up and cost you thousands yearly. Many platforms do offer that option. If a client wishes to pay with a card and not a free method like ACH, I consider that to be more of a convenience to them so charging the client the fee is (to me) justified.

      @@hahajoel right it would save money in the long run! However, I haven’t seen many platforms that allow that option or else I’d be on it haha… hate paying fees

      That could be your next video: Invoicing Services For Freelancers That Allow You To Charge Your Client The Processing Fee”. 😆
      I’m in the market for a new invoicing and accounting software. I’ve been using Inly for the past 6 years and they offer that option. Several others I’ve found during my recent search do too.

      Thank you for this video! I actually scrolled to see if there were any comments on fees. So my question is about the invoice. Did you choose not to add in the sales or transaction fee under subtotal for a reason. I just opened a square account for the card reader device for on the go and I’m stuck on how to go about it. Any payment processor has the fees and they take out of the grand total but I’m just looking for advice on to either add it in the invoice under subtotal or not. Any recommendations and tips why and why not?
