Yeah, I also follow Usualmike Television on TH-cam and he too is tapping out on collecting modern Hasbro for exactly the same reason: the prices are skyrocketing. He too is also now concentrating on vintage. Good luck with your collection! 👌🤞
Boy do I agree with you about Hasbro Michael. I am selling my entire TVC collection to a vintage toy store as we speak. Tired of messing with distribution, running to Walmarts/Targets, and escalating prices! Hoping to use my sell of TVC to land a vinyl caped Jawa or Blue Snaggletooth at the same store I am selling to. It is time to collect something in Kenner that is no longer a growing line.
@@ActionCollectiblesandMoreno luck on the sell of TVC figs. They said they are not really moving at their store in Dallas so they don’t need them. Bummer. So I will keep an eye out for a buyer or store them until the market changes.
Found a buyer for my loose TVC here in Texas. Got a Kenner Jedi Luke with green saber and palace blaster a Han Solo in Trench Coat. Selling my carded stuff to a store in Toronto. Getting a Leia Boussh.
I enjoy store hunting but unfortunately, being in rural Minnesota, it is hard finding figures in stores so I need to buy more online than I like. I also agree that prices are getting out of hand.
Living in Ohio is great because there is practically a vintage toy store in every county. My local vintage toy store has incredible prices on all their Star Wars stuff. Not to mention, they always give me a discount on anything I buy. I always compare what I paid for items in person versus what people pay on eBay and it’s very eye opening on just how overpriced eBay is. And it’s not even the sellers fault that the prices are high because they need to account for shipping and eBay fees which are very high. So long story short, buying in person will always be my preferred method
Half and half Mikey. Pros and cons. Good and bad. The rough with the smooth.... I've run out of semi-meaningless phrases!! 😅 I think you need to just buy what's best at the cheapest price wherever you can find them, be it in store or on-line. Obviously buying stuff on-line doesn't produce your content, but doesn't financially ruin you either. Looking forward to seeing what you are getting to display the figures.
@@ActionCollectiblesandMore Having said that, buying stuff on-line still gives you the opportunity to present your purchases in videos, anyway. One of the things I like most about your hunt videos, is seeing the shops you go in and their extensive wares. You could combine going to these, with something you'd do in "real-life" such as visits with the GF, picnics? walks? general life etc and not actually particularly buy anything, more like a "state of the sw nation price affair" and here's what's on offer in my neck o' t' woods? Two birds, one stone....
I don’t like how collecting in general has moved to ordering online with all the exclusives and everything. And all the content creators and people on instagram pushing orders down our throats to order through them for a commission. Wining EBay auctions can be fun but nothing beats a good toy hunt and I really enjoy your toy hunts.
Totally feel you on this one. Prices are down now. Lots of deals out there Mike. Start buying lots man too. Get better deals. There are millions of these figures in great 85+ condition. All these other channels are pushing the narrative to pay more. I don’t buy into this scarcity BS anymore. 😊.
Great review and I totally agree with you it's a fun adventure toy hunting but when it comes down to it money is the key factor I remember when Star Wars figures first came out and they were a $1.99 and now we can pay up to $23 for a Boba fett figure from Target how crazy is that!!???
Yeah all the Boba fett's from Target were like $22.99 the comic ones the MORAK one at least it was by me and then the most recent Boba with the reto paint version all were like $22.99 and idk if it's true but I heard that they always charge more for him
I stopped going to Hidden Treasures over a year a go. Around January 2023 he had three original amanaman in fair condition. He used to put loose incomplete figures in bottom display case in a cardboard box cut in half in isle A on the side that had all the star wars vehicles. I had asked about the price as there were no prices on any of the loose .he was originally going to sell it to me for 25 dollars just because he did not know what the figure was and wanted to get rid of it. He did a last minute Google check on his phone it lead him to eBay and he saw the carded example going for 3200. He than told me the price would be 3200 but he would sell it for 750 . I made him an offer of 100 due to figures condition . It also was missing it's coin and staff ,I told him I was willing to go up to 175. He did not like my offer. Since this very negative experience I have only picked up classic gi joe and star wars figures from eBay. I been finding figures for a lot better price and condition then any collectable store near me .
You should enjoy toy hunting I have always enjoy toy hunting it’s great fun and it’s all depends on what you are looking for it’s the prices that’s takes away the fun but everything has gone up
Yes I still do enjoy going on toy hunts I’ll just be buying some of these Kenner figures online as well as hunts. The toy shows are especially good for selection and prices.
Hello, I myself do not purchase from eBay, yet. Eventually I imagine I will. Sometimes hunting in the wild yields little to no results. That being said, ur video hunts are fun & informative. EBay is instantaneous gratification, but does not give ur viewers much. So, ur sacrifice is for ur channel’s success. I tip my hat to u…
Theres nothing worse than moron so called collectors ( sellers ) that think their 50 buck figure is worth 150 bucks. One thing i learned long ago is patience is beyond a virtue.
Somethings def need to be purchased on line. With that said I found online shopping was taking the joy out of the hobby for me. Tracking things down for me is half the fun if not more. I can easily go on eBay fill my cart with all the g1 transformers I need and be done with it. By doing so I ruin the enjoyment I would have had I picked them up one by one over time. I lack self control I guess and they make it so easy to buy stuff. The hobby is not the same without the hunt. A part of me wishes I still had to deliver newspapers for a month before I could even buy a toy. That was a rewarding feeling. However you do it it’ll continue to be fun watching you put your collection together.
Really great points. I think I just need to find the right balance because your right I can put together the whole collection in a month by just buying on EBay but it takes the joy out of it.
Awesome video. Ebay is convenient, but you will never beat the feeling of going on a toy hunt and seeing them first hand.
That’s what toy hunting is all about
Very true and sometimes it just pays off to pay extra to see it first hand.
Yeah, I also follow Usualmike Television on TH-cam and he too is tapping out on collecting modern Hasbro for exactly the same reason: the prices are skyrocketing. He too is also now concentrating on vintage.

Thank you my friend. I follow him too and I’m happy for him he’s going that route as well.

@@billpaulk1058 awesome my friend I need that to get back out there and buy some more vintage 😀
It’s fun to do both, but sometimes traveling for toys leaves more of an impact than waiting for it in the mail. Keep collecting my friend!
Definitely
Totally agree 👍🏻
I enjoy store hunting but unfortunately, being in rural Minnesota, it is hard finding figures in stores so I need to buy more online than I like. I also agree that prices are getting out of hand.
I shouldn’t complain I have a lot of toy and comic stores near me but they cost more than buying online.

I definitely need to get out to Ohio soon. Toy department looks like an amazing store.
@@ActionCollectiblesandMore the toy department is probably the greatest store I’ve ever been to

I'd watch you toy hunt online! Might be a great way to get new collectors into the hobby but I also get not wanting to share the secrets!
I don’t have many secrets besides being very patient when buying modern stuff and I’m just learning the secrets to vintage collecting 😂
