James has changed my life. I first heard him this summer, of 2024. My life mirrors Jim's from age 3 and I am now 73. I've been on my spiritual journey for years. Just at a lull of what to do next, feeling i had more trauma work to do.... I read his book The Healing Path. Now I know what to do and much more. Thank you Jim. I love your teachings and wisdom.
Thank you so much. This is good news, and I agree that Jim's wisdom and his The Healing Path book are helpful in all of those ways. Blessings on your path, and thank you again for the comment!
One of the deepest interviews I’ve listened to with Dr. James Finley on trauma. What a gift to listen to this as a navigate the scars of trauma in my own life, and seek my own “disappearance into God’s face.” Thank you Dr. Carmen Acevedo Butcher for this deeply penetrating, and intimate interview. 🙏🏽
Walking by a library bookstore a few years ago I saw the cloud of unknowing and a voice told me to get it. I wasn't big on Christianity. But the moment I read the first words I felt, more than any book I had ever read, the author was talking directly to me. What a gift, a friend, an encouragement and a guide! Following Carmen Butcher has allowed me to learn about this guy and the contemplative tradition. I feel found.
That is exactly what you are Dr. Finley “A healing presence in midst of this world”. And bless you, for all you endured thru childhood to BE as you are; an authentic treasure of the very best sort. My old preconceived notions & concepts of God and how he does His work within us & without (like “He protects us from nothing”) is a shock to my mere (68year old) system of reasoning. Yet, at same while, this new-to-me awareness I’ve come to crave. Finding my practice through you, David Maginley, Father Rohr, THANK YOU to all of you. And to you, Carmen for making this “program” available, which is like getting directions toward the pathway. You are a grace yourself. Love you all, Cynthia❤
Thank you for this wonderful interview! James is so humble, so full of wisdom and love - these qualities shine forth from him. Thank you also for signposting us to his other podcasts and writings so we can continue to learn and develop our spiritual practice
