Unless someone is deliberately misgendering a person with the intention of insulting them or being mean or being disrespectful, I don't think it's a huge deal. Misgendering happens and it's very understandable. It's generally an honest mistake, not malicious. That being said, if you misgender somebody and that individual politely corrects you, it does become inappropriate to use the wrong pronouns witg them in the future.

Jules was my favorite character of season 1 and It never crossed my mind thinking of her as a villain.
