- I was in Montauk for a three day trip with my friends, we planned to fish Miss Montauk II on day one and the Montauk Stare on day two. It was my Birthday 🥳 one the first day June 7th my buddy Steve booked the trip and gave me spot 15 in the front of the boat bad move I hooked into a 7 pounder and took the pool. The second day on the Montauk Stare I managed to land a 9.5 pound fluke and that was big enough to take the pool on day two.I had a great time I’m going back in August.

@@raoutdoors8099 For sure, if I had my fish paying for the boat; I wouldn’t be going anywhere! But of course that’s not always IRL. Keep in mind since you have the hot hand that the world record flute was taken off Montauk back in the seventies. (Live snapper for bait)
I went miss Montauk 2 last week there was very little drift fishing sucked I blame the capt for not using the motor to get us more strikes.

7-4 no way I'm going on a 9 hour fluke trip if the fishing sucks I'm trapped all day. Got to justify that $130 price tag I guess.

@TomTerrific thanks for watching the videos. As far as choosing one over the other from my experience after fishing both. I would say that if you are gonna fish on the Helen H you will need to use heavy gear, I bought the jigging world knight Ranger 7’6 rated 6-12 oz because I was using 14-20 ounces of lead to hold bottom. Montauk you can use lighter tackle depending on the depth and drift conditions. I have a vacation coming up in August and I’m probably going to flip a coin to decide we’re I end up because both places hold a fish of a lifetime!!!
