Yeah, definitely, the only info on his parents I can find is that they were at least middle class and some sources saying they owned a small company, others saying his father worked infrastructure and his mother was a housewife, at the very least he had a stable home life which yes, already puts him ahead of billions (70% of the global population of almost 8 billion is considered low class/poor just for reference), his background never tried to get in his way, it helped him. Also, there is a craptons of shade up in there as well, allegations of fraud, co founders calling him a liar and claiming he can't even code, so on and so forth. Also, his product was basically an app that combined hotels sort of, he didn't buy a ton of hotels like this video says. This video skipped a LOT to try and make this story "inspiring".

This is what I don't like about short videos. They omit out lot of details. He is indeed from a poor family and no he is not a fraud. OYO does not acquire the hotel but actually works with the hotels to bring them customers. When a customer books a room the hotel gets new customer which they wouldn't have gotten organically and OYO charges commission per customer. In short OYO is a hotel booking company. They don't own hotels.

I like how the story jumps from one hotel to 500 lol. There has to be a LOT of details to the story in there. I am willing to bet this kid was from a wealthy family with connections as well.
Yeah, definitely, the only info on his parents I can find is that they were at least middle class and some sources saying they owned a small company, others saying his father worked infrastructure and his mother was a housewife, at the very least he had a stable home life which yes, already puts him ahead of billions (70% of the global population of almost 8 billion is considered low class/poor just for reference), his background never tried to get in his way, it helped him.
Also, there is a craptons of shade up in there as well, allegations of fraud, co founders calling him a liar and claiming he can't even code, so on and so forth. Also, his product was basically an app that combined hotels sort of, he didn't buy a ton of hotels like this video says. This video skipped a LOT to try and make this story "inspiring".

OYO does not acquire the hotel but actually works with the hotels to bring them customers. When a customer books a room the hotel gets new customer which they wouldn't have gotten organically and OYO charges commission per customer.

The affordable ones were judgemental and sometimes even straight out denied rooms for couples who aren't married. @@LovingPrinceTamayuki technically yes, but i view ethnicity as too general of a category to place gender underneath because there are way more than just 2 types of genders (i’m talking the specifics, so about 50+). i see gender as a term that is used more broadly to denote a range of identities that do not correspond to the established ideas of male and female; and i view ethnicity as a grouping of people who identify with each other on the basis of shared attributes that distinguish them from other groups such as a common set of traditions, ancestry, language, history, society, culture, nation, religion or social treatment within their residing area, and that’s regardless of gender and gender identity. yes, there are some overlapping ideas, which is why gender is considered a part of ethnicity, but i see that gender is much more than being a part of your ethnicity, so i view them separately.
