RBMA presents RP Boo

Pioneer and innovator are two tags that fit perfectly well with the Chicago producer Kavain Space, also known as RP Boo and inventor of footwork, one of the dance music genres that has experimented the most international expansion in recent years.
As a pioneer, it has taken a long time for his work to receive the recognition it deserves, and he has built his innovative language experimenting: learning to produce music with a drum machine with no user’s manual, accelerating the tempo of house music to challenge dancers and using the material that is available to him (both machines and samples) in an unconventional way. Even though there’s no denying that he has set the base for new generation of dancers and producers, he is not simply “the godfather” and his last albums are proof that years may pass, but no one quite sounds like him.
RP Boo will be in conversation with electronic music writer and editor Lauren Martin. She has been writing about electronic music since her teens for publications like FACT, The Guardian, The Quietus and Dazed & Confused, as well as launching the UK arm of VICE’s dance music channel Thump. Currently she is a writer and editor for RBMA Daily.
