Our channel takes you through the day to day chores here on our rural property in Western Pennsylvania. We also work on new projects and maintain old ones. Love the trailer, the only other thing I could see to improve would be some pocket holes on the side to add some boards to make the sides taller. Not so much for dirt,rock, etc but for limbs to help hold it in.

Another great video Mike . Just remember that all of those nice toys are only there for 2 years . Eventually you might have to give them up . You can't rely on having those tools when you decide what kind of sawmill you're going to buy . If RK were smart they would let you keep those tools and tractors or give you a great deal because what you are doing is better than any commercial that they would make .
Whatever happens I will have a tractor and grapple capable of lifting and moving heavy logs

Another informative video, great job. I have a Woodmizer LT 28 bought it new about 5 years ago. I had intended to buy the LT 15, but I am happy that I stepped up to the28. It is an amazing well thought out piece of machinery. I am not sure of the features of the other brands you mentioned.
I also maintain a little over 100 acres in central Pennsylvania, and can’t imagine not having it now. You can do very professional work with it. A couple of things I like about it is the power feed, the toe boards for leveling the logs to box the heart of the logs, I like their re- sharpening program, you send your blades to them they sharpen them and they cut as good as a new blade for around $9 each. It’s also nice having a great dealer in our state, they are great to work with. Getting parts or service has been great too, I haven’t needed very much service, but wear parts are readily available, and usually only takes a day to get most of the thinks I have needed. I would highly recommend Woodmizer. I hope this is helpful.
Good video Mike, that trailer should definitely be on the list for sure. Has lots of uses moving materials all around . Thanks for sharing. In all the watching I do about saw milling I think my choice would be the Wood-Mizer LT 15 on a trailer with extensions.
RK37 name: "The Morganizer" -- play on the words "Organize" -- gather, stack, load, smooth, etc.. and the "Morgan" horse breed -- which is a versatile, well-behaved horse used in ranching.

Hey Mike another good video. Wish it was not so muddy here in Michigan so I could get out on the tractor. I have a tip for you. When loading your dump trailer always try to put it 45°s off of your pile that way their you don't have to travel so much and turn alot to load the trailer and go back to your pile.

I recently purchased a woodland mills hm 126 and absolutely love it! The engineering and design is top rate. A lot of different features have been thought of . The hm126 will take a 26" log and mill a 19" can't, I bought the mill 6' track extensions, a box of spare parts ( consumables) and a box of 10 blades for $4100.oo I think it would be worth your time to look into this mill .i love mine

I've always liked Woodmizer, they are always inovating and uping their line. I realize you don't need any of the full hyd. and saw software. Another on more along the lines you are looking for is Hudson, made in Barnaveld, NY

I have a chain mill because I am primarily interested in natural edge slabs. 1st cut set up is a PITA and any errors telegraph through all the subsequent cuts. Kerf waste is substantial.
Band mills are nice (and expensive). Minimal kerf waste and easy 1st cut setup since they ride on rails. But none that I'm aware of can cut a 56" natural edge slab.
For making dimensional lumber and timbers, a band mill is hard to beat. Check out the Lucas mill. Wranglerstar has one. Looks very efficient. When reorienting the blade from horizontal to vertical, it stays indexed.
I agree that the trailer is just about a perfect size. I find too small is dangerous as you try to over fill or whatever, to large is dangerous just because it's big. That trailer hits the sweet spot for sure. A good name for the 37 would be Jack!!!

uncle just got woodland hm126 because of hurricane michael. it cuts true and pretty well built and affordable.
That is a nice trailer. If you could chain the bottom of the gate to allow you to spread the gravel like a dump truck can that would be pretty slick.
I have a Norwood LM34 with 23hp, trailer package with 8' extensions plus 2 of the 2" extensions for the ends. Its a a manual band mill. The mill will saw a total of 24.5' , it's a 2010 model. I really like the mill for the fact, if something were to happen I could fix it cause it came in 53 boxes. I put it together, very good assembly manual. The mill and delivery to the house for $13k with a box of 10 blades. You can add accessories anytime you want. There is some learning with a band mill, I've had a manual circle mill for many years prior. The LM34 is basically the same as the LM36. Pros on the mill, I like the log rest & clamping, with the trailer package it's the right heighth, I've towed it to many other jobs its so easy to set up. Cons about the mill, the ceramic blade guides I wish were roller guides is my only con, reason being is steel bolts get so tight in the aluminum guide blocks you have to take them off and heat the block up to loosen bolts to adjust ceramic guides. The biggest around log I've sawn is 37" × 13' the longest log was 27" × 24.7' ... I work heavy equipment construction (I run a rock crusher) in Northern Minnesota so in spring before recall to work I saw between 3000 & 10,000 bf before recall. I hope I've helped in some way, I'm very pleased with my mill.

The new name for the RK 37 should be Bamm Bamm from the Flinstones. He was known for his super strength.
I use a Granberg chainsaw mill to mill up a handful of logs per year. Slow, but works great when you get the Granberg ripping chain. A hand winch to pull the chainsaw through is a must. These mills are priced such that you make your money back from milled lumber in just a day or two of work (anybody notice the price of walnut lately??). Like you, I have a Stihl MS362 that I use almost exclusively for this work. I'd think your audience would love to see you demo one as they are much more economically feasible. Granberg works with other TH-cam channels, that's why I ended up with one!

Mike , I think I have commented before about sawmill. But, I have a Norwood LM29. I have about 200 hours on it. It works real good .I was cutting pallet lumber with it. But know it is just for my own use. If I was to buy another mill I would try to get a Cook's mill. The only reason i didn't buy it first was the shipping cost. They build a real sturdy mill. Check them out. By the way I am in same state as you only on eastern edge right against .N.J, line.If you have any questions let me know.
I don't have a mill but I have the stump grinder and 8" chipper from Woodland Mills and they are a GREAT company. You can get a knowledgable person on the phone with questions or to help you in seconds. Fast shipping and great quality stuff too.

Woodland Mills for the sawmill - I have their stump grinder on my John Deere 1025r tractor, and both the product and the company can't be beat. Great service, great company, and their products are truly over-built. They have a very fair price structure, and definitely should be on your list to look at for a sawmill. Also, great videos, keep them coming.
Saw mill suggestion: Frontier OS27 by Norwood.
Ive had a Woodland Mills band mill for about 4 years now. For a hobby mill, I love it. Everything is manual. Its slow tedious work but, it does the job VERY well. WM's customer service has been awesome in my experience. Im planning to purchase one of their 8" chippers this Spring. I have no doubt it will be every bit as well designed and well made as the HM 126 band mill. As far as the RK37's name, Clifford fits well.
I have one of their chippers and it is awesome. You won’t be disappointed
I would also like to narrow down which band-saw-mills are the best and why. I'm not getting one now, but I probably will in the future.

Mike, number one reason is affordability. If you really get into milling you can get a bigger one but if you don’t it won’t cost you much. In fact I think it’s comparable with a chainsaw mill if you include the additional cost of the power head.

I would want a dump trailer like you have. I think it would be prefect for me I don’t have remote hydraulics on my B2601 Kubota and don’t know the cost for that. I live in Wisconsin, and don’t know of any RK in the area. I will check at tractor supply to see what they have. Thank you for the great videos you put out, very interesting! Wayne
just got back from RK store looking at RK 55 cab is like the Mahindra 3646,8yr power train warranty is good except that manager stated that motor only covered by 2 year warranty and all other power train covered for 6 more years after first 2 is done Maysville Ky store.
You’ve got bigger things to worry about than naming a tractor or purchasing a sawmill.

Norwood os27 is a great first time owner sawmill it is beefy for its size , priced competitively and has the simplest adjustments

I think for a name little red might work. As far as a saw mill I would suggest Woodland Mills. I bought their wood chipper last year and am completely satisfied. The thing is very very well built and I would highly suggest you take a look at them. The customer service is great and nice people to do business with. For the RK 37, I might name it "Do-All." Mostly because there isn't a thing on your property or mine that you could not do with that tractor. Since you started your partnership with RK, I fell in love with the RK 37. I have a 28 hp off brand tractor which work's great but I have been to the RK site many times, "building" my future RK 37 more than I care to admit.

If you want to cut dimension timber then I would recommend a Lucas Mill, it has a horizontal and vertical cut. I like Jack as a name for the 37.

"The Mule" is my suggestion for the RK37.
I don't own a WoodMizer yet but it would be my pick. If I had the equipment that you have, I'd get the LT15. There are several reasons for my pick and it's from what I've heard from actual owners. 1. Customer Service, 2. Reliability, 3. Resale value. Just my 2 cents. By-the-way, You might find yourself cutting more wood than you think. From what I've seen, it's addictive. Also, from what I gather, if you're selling the wood, the money is in slabs.
I have no personal experience but after watching a lot of TH-cam videos I really like the Lucas Mill. I know you said you are looking for a band saw mill but watch some of Wranglerstar's videos about his Lucas Mill

Hey Mike, I highly recommend the Woodmizer LT35, I shopped for years and this is what I come up with. I got the hydraulic because I am not wanting to wrestle logs. You can put logs on mill with loader but you still got to turn them to cut them into boards. Ron
Agree, however my thing is the cost vs time I will have to use one. In other words I don't have enough time as it is to justify the LT35 considering the time I will have to saw. My thinking is (right or wrong who knows) get a manual mill for now, if I like sawing maybe when I get closer to retirement go all in on a fully hydraulic

Hey how often you have to regen depends how the tractor is used. If all you do is brush hog and the tractor is ran at pto rpms it will not have to be regened as often than a tractor that it dose all loader work. Same goes for trucks if on the highway not as much as stop and go in city traffic.

Hi Mike. Cody, over at Wranglerstar, uses a saw mill, although the brand escapes me at this time. Perhaps a shout out to him might be a good idea. I know he's used it fairly often.
