To the interviewer, thank you. Your hair is different, but your accent/voice and hand gestures made you immediately recognizable. You took my wife and I through a demo at Gen Con 2022 where we purchased the Starter Set. After going through the Starter Set that evening, we signed up for a RuneQuest Event on Sunday of the Convention where we met our current gaming group. We are all from Indianapolis. We have played every other week since The Con and are having a blast. I have the main core rule book, the bestiary, the weapons and equipment book, the sourcebook, and the red magic book all coming in this week. Your enthusiasm, professionalism, relatability, and creativity were what started us on this path. Again, thank you.
I first discovered RQ as a kid, but nothing about the mythology, but RQ was so easy, really didn't need the book to run, Then as a kid someone threw, literally in my lap , the cults of prax, and terror, and the world book for stormbringer, and said "heard you like geeky things " i mixed and matched those with the DnD deity stuff from dragon magazine in my own world This should be fun!!
Thanks for this. 🙂 I realize I'm pretty late to this party, but you just described me precisely: I just got a copy of the Starter Set and had never heard of Glorantha before and wanted to know more about these deities, since they play such a key role in each character's lives.
Mmm... I'd say no. Gods would exist anyway, but what makes a god really great is how many sacrifices/offers/worship ceremonies they receive. Of course, if no one worships or offers sacrifices to a god, it means that god is forgotten, and so it does not play a big role in the world.
The Gods want the Magic Points and Power of their worshippers by offering gifts in return, they are not too picky on the source in some places.... you learn things like that in Dorastor.....( silent scream).
They need active followers to maintain their relevance to the world. Without an active cult, they tend to fade into the background, which sometimes manifests as going to sleep and they can be rediscovered. This is happening in the current era, The Hero Wars, forgotten powers are rising from their slumber to be encountered and either awakened or appeased or kicked into touch as appropriate.
@@runebloggeroftheruneblog2696 Mmmh... but what about wyters? Do they cease to exist if all members of the clan are killed/adopted by other clans? (For the ones new to the setting, wyters are guardian spirits/minor gods of Orlanthi clans, and could possibly be the physical manifestation of clansmen links)

Great stuff!
(Got a typo in the video title, FYI). Great video for newbies. Also, Team Storm Bull!!
Thank you! Fixed it.
Any ETA on the Cult books?
May Darkness ⚫️ protect this video.
Only God Learners and the insane reject the protection of the Gods..... and we know what happened to them.... .
Do the gods in Glorantha require faith to exist just like the ones from Dungeons & Dragons, especially in the Forgotten Realms?
