Yeah, I noticed when you try to convince someone, if they realize what you're doing, they won't listen. Best way to be convincing is to just make your point and *not try* .
Laugh-In did it better with the Farkel Family. They had around 10 kids who all looked and dressed like the redheaded, freckled bow-tie and suspenders wearing next door neighbor. Pretty amazing considering 1960s TV censorship.
My personal greatest and memorable commercials for me are the Bud Ice penguin ads from 1996, The Red Bull ads from 2012 & 2013 and one of my favorites ... the British Airways commercial from 1989.
I actually remember a lot of these. Once we got Direct TV and DVR's so we could record everything and be able to fast forward through commercials, I pretty much never saw one again. With all the streaming services too, we just don't get commercials like these anymore. lol
Very likely though I'm in an adjacent field of animation primarily focused on developing storyboards so some similar principles at play. My favorites were the squirrel revolution, bringing home the girlfriends & the forgive us ladies but that's just what stood out to me. The first 2 I mentioned had excellent subversion of expectations. The gfs was clean with a simple comedic concept & excellent timing. Honestly a rather perfect commercial IMO for their target audience of young single guys who want to smell nice for the ladies. The squirrels one, I'd bet they brainstormed the initial concept then someone involved must of threw out the revolution twist which evolved it. This elevated it from just a funny concept that would've worked just fine by itself to being hilariously memorable. But that all said without looking what was their product? IMO they forgot to ensure their product was just as memorable but I also have ADHD so... The forgive us ladies had me laughing cause as a guy I've either been there or seen someone do similar things lol. And even though this beer commercial seemed to have a 20s & 30s male target audience I feel like this could've worked fairly well for a target audience of females in the same age group. They or their friends have likely experienced a few of these too. Would need to be restructured a bit with a different voiceover but the concept could land IMO. Overall just a fun advert. Just my thoughts from an outside perspective. Best of luck to everyone in their future contracts.
You guys blew it. The best-ever commercial was when archeologists dug 40 feet down into the desert looking for a metal object only to find a Volkswagen beetle buried there. At one point, a driver inside rolls down his window, says thank you with a smile, and drive up the ramp. I laughed out loud at the improbability .
Best VW add was the one with the Karmann Ghia driving down the beach with the announcer lauding all it's attributes and rebounding off the paper banner as the announcer saying "it has everything but power."
I remember the first time I saw that commercial. My first thought...well my second thought was DAMN they walked the line with that one hahahah I'm sure parents across America were pissed
2:22 but he has BUDLIGHT Edit 1 yr later: There should’ve been a full stop and a capital letter at the stray of that sentence + Budlight is shit now. 😂
2:15 My only question was, what happened to the pig. Guess they had to sneak this in there to say the pig was canonically safe, else all anyone would talk about it the potentially orbital pig.
Wow ! This commercial are awesome lol 😅 if they would put this commercial now people would be canceling left to right 😅😂😂😂😂 the baby one 😂😂 and the last one its so sad !mess but the last one is kinda mean but what a commercial the guts lo 😂
Dear Lady. My mum taught me, how not to urinate on myself. So I thoroughly wash my hands (and my penis) in the morning, and I'm good for the day. Oh, and I wear Versace Eros Flame for Men. I hope this will suffice your aspirations 😉😘
That squirrel said "nut up, my brothas"! Best line evar.
"Oh god, it's mating with my mouth."
2 best lines ever
I just realized.
The best commercials are the ones that *don't try* .
In a good way or a bad way?
@@davida6919 In a good way, they intentionally don't try

Makes sense, they just are a short story.
They are effortless
Squirrel commercial; "it's mating with my mouth" 😂😄

I‘m surprised there are no ads in these commercials
"For the last 12 years..." & "Pedro, Jr." 😂

I WAS DYING ON THE SEAL ONE

I thought it was funny
The seal was dying too

Not funny at all. What's wrong with you? Must be a Republican.
The Sears coupon commercial got me!!🤣😆

2:55 he has bud light. BUT HE HAS A POPPED COLLAR!
Welcome home dead
When the baby started dancing I was like omfg this is so funny.
The baby one was the funniest one lmfao.
"It's mating with my mouth"...how did the censors let that one go?!! LOL.
lol that one with the bud light hitchhiker
I wanted to see how you open a beer with an axe.
@@jeffschwehr6750 How about with the chainsaw?
@@Bithia65 Well, that too.
Omfg the snuffy the seal ad! When I first saw it I laughed so fast choking on my gum, and pee'd myself a bit, then laughed harder cause I peed!
Why is that tragedy funny to you? That ad was very cruel.
That is tmi XD
Poor Snuffy. 😂
I never seen that before, and ya, I'm still laughing.
It's been a while, but I do remember that commercial.@@tomp8871
there is something special about a wholesome moment turning morbidly shocking

I remember seeing Ted Nugent in concert and he played this song, thanks for the memories
I enjoyed The Cat Herders, a super bowl commercial it's funny
Pedro Jr. 😂
"Look - he has Bud Light!"
"And a chainsaw!"
Men, these are the best commercials put together, i don't understand why this video has more views
I searched for this IMAO😂
Everyone else are watching Thai commercials
th-cam.com/video/GyY15Jkkg2A/w-d-xo.html this one is the best haha
Let's admit it, all of us are in the industry. That's the only reason we'd be here, even when they're not buying our time 😄
let's not admit it but rather get someone to act it out, in short bursts, using vivid (if disconnected) imagery.

That wasn't a commercial, that was a documentary.
Love your use of the word “improbability.”
I remember that. Must have been 50 years ago. Volkswagen and Alka-Seltzer were the best!
Best VW add was the one with the Karmann Ghia driving down the beach with the announcer lauding all it's attributes and rebounding off the paper banner as the announcer saying "it has everything but power."
have you seen the banned "bollocks" VW ad?
Snuffy got Snuffed 😂

My list: All Bud Light commercials
Pilsbury Doughboy ..Jolly Green Giant..

The men commercial was so true and funny. We wash our hands before we take a piss, not after.
Squirrels seals and Axe - best commercials ever. The rest were trying too hard.
Love that Doritos commercial at 1:47 such a banger
The "commercial" was the Bud Light Clydesdale Twin Towers tribute. Makes me cry every time.
This reminds me of way back when 5 clicks on my DishTv remote could get me back to my DVR show without commercials! Remember that?
I think any commercial terry crews is in will be intense
The Bud Light did not age well...
They should have stuck to that kind.
I saw the seal one as a child.
It scarred me cause I didn't know it was fake.
I thought it was funny
I don't remember this, but it's actually accurate from Nature's perspective. 🤔😉
Snuffy the seal... omg hilarious as!
And this is how great commercials and humor die: in the sound of PC.

I absolutely loved the snuffy the seal ad. Since it wasn't real it was too funny. It could have been a SNL sketch. 😅😅😅😅😅😅
The news anchor from the snuffy the seal commercial was also in the “Black Ice” Key and Peele skit
