You actually see Silco's henchwoman's arm get blown off during the explosion scene in episode 3. When Powders bomb is going off, she pushes Silco aside, and you see her arm vanish into the light. Now she has her Shimmer fueled replacement. It's the first real example of Zaun Chemtech.
It can be assumed that Marcus put Vi in jail almost immediately after the events of episode 3 and then told Silco she was dead.
But since there was no wall of text put in the show saying this, isn't it possible that Marcus knocked her out and put her on a cruise around the world to see the sights? Then, when she got homesick after several years of surfing and fishing, she came back to Piltover and requested a room at the local prison. How can anyone be sure if the show does not STOP and spell it out for the common people? If not directly told what is what, 50% will never know.
I personally believe that aliens abducted her right out of the grasp of the cop that kidnapped her and made a clone of her. Then they sent the clone down to do criming until Vi was wanted by the po-po. They then sent her back whereupon she was arrested for these crimes and put in a prison without any indication why she was put in prison, no records, no nothing to passive aggressively teach those aliens a lesson for tricking 'em with clones. Obvious...
And it was mentioned that Vi is being held kinda off the record. So I don't think anyone actually knew she was still alive
@@laugh8574 according to the additional materials, relised simultaneously with the Arcane, the Council knew, but her file is classified, that's why Cait found nothing.
@@marsfalcon9250 Funnily enough it is actually said in the show, just hasn’t come up yet
@@marsfalcon9250 Interesting clone theory but I think it’s more likely she was living on a ranch. Happily raising cattle and growing produce, she was making lots of gold. That is until her fellow ranchers reported and jailed her for overfarming.
You didn't really comment on it, so I can't tell if you caught on to the fact that Vi was beaten repeatedly by the prison guards.
Nice job catching the little hint about Marcus's dead wife.
One of the few channels where I have to go back and see what the editor said. I love the chemistry these two have.
I try to leave little nuggets here and there, but this was the most packed info-heavy episode by far!
@@hungryrabbiddawgI love all the little notes!! 😁
hahaha the editor notes in this are gold!! great reaction!
^^ That matches my ranking rn on the Rift, checks out! [Missing Cupcake emoji here, Im replying via mobile and it's poo, sorry!]
Marcus chloroformed Vi. He put her in Stillwater with no records. Silco thought she was dead. Thus Vi has been in prison this whole time.
About Mel, I think she 100% is manipulating Jayce at this point, but like... She didn't HAVE to sleep with him for that, he is lightweight to her, politically. I think she did it because she has the hots for him, sincerely, like, it's pleasant as well as useful.
Again an amazing reaction! I absolutely love your reactions, they feel authentic and I am right there with you. VI is such a badass, she was definitely working out in that prison cause she came out of there sculpted. I mean her guns put mine to shame lol (as I cower into the shadows lol).
Vi + Kaitlyn is so good. I've been so excited to watch this one with you!
poor Mel, every reactor suspects her of being shady when she is probably the most geniune character on the show!
Yay!!! Such a great episode!
Kudos to the editor for the sound effects.
The jinx counter is killing me, y’all are so in sync sometimes
The parallel of the scenes with Jayce and Viktor makes perfect sense.
Viktor accidently put DNA in a box.
While Jayce purposely put DNA in a box.😂😂😂
As far as what Victor’s working on, I don’t think in any fantasy, science fiction, horror, owners manual I’ve ever read, most machines that have an interest in the fluid that keeps most living things alive is never a positive thing.😂
Love you both so much
@editor, I appreciate the enthusiasm as a fellow long-time League fan. But maybe chill a bit for both Meesh and Dee, as well as the viewers. There's still an opportunity for a potential "Arcane fans react to Riot LoL Cinematics"
MIDENSTOKKE HENCHMEN!!!?? And you got jinx'ed reference? Bro knows old league videos and has played LOR? Actually isn't that a new-ish set to be referencing? Who is this editor?!
Ummm HELLO EP 6???????? Please guy's!
are you sisters i see the nose and eyes
Vi was a loose canon.
The screaming goat thing is really distracting 😕 sorry. Not trying to be a hater. Is that in the Patreon version too?
27:27 The editor simping for Vi 💀 so real
🧁
Bruh, the Soulja Boy sample had me dead😂
Ummm HELLO EP 6???????? Please guy's!
Hailee Steinfeld is now the only person alive who has made the word "Cupcake" sound hot 😂
having seen her movies and tv shows I'm sure she can makes anything sounds hot if she tries 😂
I always love Silco's "From the dead?!" reaction, it's so weirdly satisfying
It's the only time you see unnerved and surprised by something.
Marcus put Vi in jail to keep Silco from killing her. "He'll kill you if he hears you." We can assume that he probably thought that was the best place for her to be, at least given his relationship with Silco. Hard to say if that was more for his own benefit or simply because he really didn't know what to do with her.
People often (always?) forget that by doing it, he saved the whole Undercity from the enforcers. And by saying Silco's tht Vi's died, he made the same deals as Vander's, giving him the ruling to the South.
@@TheAyme83 This is the one problem with the show having so many characters and actually allowing for subtlety. Too many people are either too narrow minded, too dumb, or too lazy to pay attention, and thus too many things go over people's heads and they treat certain characters that don't have the time to go through the back story of like their are evil pieces of shit.
Example: Jinx. She's don't just as bad, if not worse than damn near anyone else in the show. But the show gives you a backstory and she's one of the leads so she gets a big amount of attention. Marcus and to some extend Mel are closer to side characters comparatively so they don't get fleshed out backstories from the start of the show and damn near everyone treats them like garbage.
This show excels at the idea that humans are complicated creatures that aren't black and white, but too many people apply that to certain characters while then also applying black and white bullshit to others.
@@topgamer101 It is crazy to me, no offense to these reactors in general, I find them way better than the common reaction channel, but for real. I myself didn't pick up every detail from the show, that's hard, there are a lot and all of them amazingly done to not directly yell at your face, but I can't control myself from seeing people manage to dodge the most fucking obvious details and hits idk man. Like the part where jinx sees the pink haired girl, like yeah in that scene the flashes between VI and the girl happen quite fast and you might get confused, but doesn't the fact that jinx literally shoots her right after, or idk, the next 5 fucking minutes where they keep talking about jinx freezing because she saw someone **similar** to Vi,. but she's not Vi. I get so frustrated I swear.
dear editor, those added audio clips during the vi x sevika fight had me dying…. was not ready for that! 😭😭
squeaky toy sounds are my fav
Shout out to the editor! You can tell they had a fun time with this one, and are going the extra mile for Meesh and Dee 👍
This is a very sweet comment, thanks! Have a cupcake🧁
@@hungryrabbiddawg making us giggle with your nods and little additions every episode
THE SOUND EFFECTS ADDED IN THO 😂
Right?! Had me laughing every time🤣
That Vi-Savika fight scene was amazing. Professional fighters have reviewed that fight and agree that it was really well done. All real moves (with a few embellishments for cinematography), but they were all super impressed.
Searching youtube for these reviews immediately lol
Your editor deserves a raise🤣🤣
I'm just here for the free food - they be serving up the content ;D
Cupcake overload!!!! 🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁🧁
And for top meta commentary for anyone thats seen other Arcane reactions, there are references to at least two other popular reactors' Arcane edits I snuck in here by kindof recreating what they did in their edits. Y'all wanna take a guess? ;)
While I kind of hate people saying "you'll like this gay show because you're gay" I'm still glad this show got recommended in general.
Nevermid that the gayness of Vi and Cait is not at all the point of the story. This is not a gay story, is a wonderful story that happens to have two gay protagonists
but um the thumbnail says alot
I'm happy my ex-girlfriend didn't tell me about it. She was just like, "We're watching this." When we got to this episode, I finally understood where she got Cupcake from & why she kept calling me it.
Yeah when they said ppl were telling them “you’ll like it because you’re gay” my jaw dropped. I’m glad they took it well tho.
even though gay people of course enjoy shows with great stories and all, gay people also are constantly in search for shows that are gay as well because you know we love to see a representation of ourselves in shows too so you know personally I dont mind people recommending shows or movies because first it's gay second it's amazing.
Fun fact.... Caitlyn is voiced by Cho Chang from the Harry Potter movies. 😁😁
another cool fact that Jinxy is the main actress of fallout
Didn’t know that and that’s cool.
And Victor's voice actor is Viserys's actor from Game of Thrones, Daenerys's dumb brother from season 1.
I love so much of what this show does, and there are two fantastic examples in this episode. Taking the time at the beginning to show both why Caitlyn became an Enforcer while also showing how good of a shot she is so that when she keeps hitting Sivika's metal arm at the end you know for a fact it was on purpose. And then portraying Silco as the kind of villian who knows everything and is always one step ahead, but being brave enough as a show to still show his moments of vulnerabliity like genuienly not having any idea Vi was still alive. A lesser show would be too concerned with making sure he kept his aura to allow him to be a more interesting character. This show is a masterpiece in a lot of ways.
CUPCAIT!!
Each episode is like the team at Fortiche asking themselves, "How can we one-up ourselves this time?" The story, animation, relationships, all seem to get better, deeper, richer, with each episode. Wonderful episode as always. Cheers to the editor, your comments during the episode were both informative & hilarious.
Also, I think we just saw what Caitlyn's shooting for, or who she's aiming to protect. =^._.^=
You get a cupcake too! 🧁
Fortiche really outdid themselves in this episode, the choreography during the fight was awesome! The extra camera shakes really had you feel the impact of the punches, imo. I remember cringing the whole time from imagining the pain during the fight the first time I saw it.
All aboard, the ship is sailing.
Caitlyn paired with Vi and her sassiness is something I never expected to love this much
My read on Marcus is that he wanted to make up for what happened to Grayson by following in her footsteps with the leader of the undercity, but he's dealing with someone like Silco now instead of someone like Vander, so he keeps having to compromise his morals in order to keep the "peace"
He's another complicated, tragic character, but I find myself having little sympathy for him anyway given his attitude toward the folk of the undercity and stuff
THE MOMENT WE WERE ALL WAITING FOR!
I love that everytime Dee is shook she just stops and gapes hahaha
Funny you call it a "thug tear" it's her name "VI" but written in Roman Numerals. *LOL* You two are silly.
And her inmate number is 516...5+1=6; V+I=6. I thought that was a nice touch from the animators/writers
@@nutrybe NICE! I actually did not catch that. Thanks! That just adds to it. Pretty dope. 😅
Vi’s under eye tattoo is her prison number (VI= 516) and her name. It’s been highly suggested that Vi’s been in prison this entire time, the characters (Vi, Marcus and Silco) say more to confirm it in the next episode.
How does VI equal 516? I thought it was just 6?
@@henry.-.2183 V + I = VI (5+1=6)
5-V, 1-I, 6-VI So VI denotes all three numbers in a way and also her name@@henry.-.2183
@@henry.-.2183 It's the roman numerals of V (5) I (1) which equals 6. It's more like a play on words.
@@danc1513 ohh that’s so interesting. Thanks
Each reaction I've watched from multiple people reacting to Arcane, I haven't seen anyone mention Vi flinching when Caitlyn opens the prison door due to her used to it opening & her getting a beating. I always thought it was a good but fucked up touch to the prison scenes.
WOOOO was waiting for this episodeeee
The episode that launched a thousand ships! 🧁
Vi and Cait were a thing for years before Arcane ever came out.
Ya know, I find it funny how at the bit when Grayson is talking about learning to use a gun to protect people, and protecting people being its own reward, everyone is nodding along and is like "damn, Grayson is such a good person" when that attitude should really be the default attitude for law enforcement IRL, its so sad how often that's not the case
Love Vi and Caitlyn , but cmon you 2 are the hotter couple
Vi was in prison for 7 years.
that's definitely not confirmed.
@@scottarcher1486 Actually, Amanda Overton said this on Twitter two years ago.
Vi has been in Jail since episode 3 they needed to lock up someone, so Marcus took her.
Not a fan of those so called screen comments. It’s like when a dj is mixing and the mc gets the mic and ruins the mix by continuing to speak! Basically unnecessary.
I’ve always assumed Jinx and Silco had a father-daughter relationship. Am I the only one who didn’t think any of their scenes were weird?
People's minds are broken, they can push every relationship to the extreme, whether healthy or unhealthy. Silco and Jinx's father-daughter relationship is my favourite theme in the series.
Spoiler:
I can't wait to see more in season 2.
definitley not the only one. lots of people have daddy issues i guess.
I think Marcus mainly put her in jail and kept her "off books" as some kind of bargaining chip for a future use if the need ever came up. He could tell the council that he arrested someone for the building explosion from episode 1 and with Grayson out of the way, it probably had a big part in him becoming sheriff. He had nothing but upsides for putting Vi in prison and Vi seems to have no idea why she's there or who put her there based on what she says next episode. The whole situation is so messed up.
I don't think Marcus was being that cynical or calculating, at least initially. It seemed to me he genuinely wanted to save Vi to in same way make up for his complicity in Grayson's murder, but then he didn't know what to do with her that wouldn't expose him either to the Council or Silco, so he just tucks her away in Stillwater. If he had used her as a scapegoat for the academy district explosion there would be some record of that, and the Kirammans and presumably Caitlyn would know someone was arrested for it.

Shame this editor is trying to make the reactions all about him/her
Just wanted to throw my couple of cent's worth in, as someone who has watched the series many times, both via the stream itself and through different creators' reactions:
1) At this point I'm looking for facial reactions and trying to read into them more, and get the feeling that though a small thing, one gets the feeling that the brothel matron absolutely knew about Jinx, and didn't want to tell Vi the entire truth, reinforced by her answer when Vi told her she owed her. In itself, no huge thing, but a continuance of the admiration I have for the nuances in the animation and storytelling in this series to this point.
2) Despite some of the other comments I've read, I absolutely think your editor is doing a great job at being a third personality- you had mentioned that you vibe with them, and if you are all satisfied with the result, that's really all that matters. Hell, a few of the comments got me to notice a few things I'd missed even through other reactions and viewings. Keep up the good work, find your groove, and run with it.
Good work so far, can't wait to see you guys in Season 2
+1 editor appreciation post, love all the comments
The match cut really makes me squeal everytime I see it. It's a small detail but makes the transitions feel so good! And this episode was chock full of them!
@@hungryrabbiddawg Yeah, show has incredible transitions, one of the thing that really blew my mind when I first watched it was a lot of the microexpressions. To invoke another YTer, this show really embodies the phrase "every frame a painting".
If you're seeing this comment, Do Not Forget to react to League of Legends Cinematics after completing the show.
22:05 I hear you, editor. I'm a more-straight-than-gay male, but the gay in me was so happy for them in that reveal.
Love the editor's work
Shout out to editor 👍
And you! 🧁
I always assumed that Viktor hid his illness from Jayce. But that played a roll in Viktor's impatience and drive with getting the tech perfected and out. He wanted to see it work and make peoples lives better before he dies. When he asked Jayce how long he had, he knew what he had was fatal, but had not seen doctors about it, which is why he didn't know how long. That also goes into him hiding his illness from Jayce.
The moment the fans have been waiting for: when the newcomers finally see the meaning of "cupcake"
Editor knows whats up.
19:11 Anyone else catch that Heimerdinger Gimp?? 😂😂
Catch one of Dee's censored, 'f*ck$' as said Gimp? ;)
aaaaaaaa cupcake
I love Arcane but I think the scene were Jinx shoots the girl it is not well done, yes, she has a different face but that is not what you see first, and then the real face is shown a second when you are still processing the events. They try to convey Jinx is messed up head but it not what comes across on a first watch.
The more reactions I watch, the more I agree with this. Heck, I was a little confused when I first watched and wasn't entirely sure what really happened until we saw Vi in prison. IMO, the problem stems mostly from three things: 1. Like you said, Vi's face is what we see first. That decision was probably a mistake. 2. The girl's face isn't different enough and is seen too briefly. The girl also doesn't say anything. If she had said something like "let go" in a voice that was clearly very different than Hailee Steinfeld, it would have helped. 3. Jinx being the one to say "it wasn't her" in a scene where she's also shown to be unhinged undermines the reliability of that statement.
they literally confirm it verbally that it is not vi in the scene with silco and jinx if you open your ears and pay attention. this show is about showing not telling.
@@ranniwolves There is no way the intention of this scene was to be fixed in another 4 minutes later.... they never intended to create confusion in the viewer but instead wanted to show us Jinx's trauma, and they failed to make it clear. Another scene mentioning the issue has nothing to do with how this one specifically works.
On my first binge of season 1, I was thinking it would be good, but I half expected it to disappoint me in major ways, so I was half-watching, half my attention on some other computer task I was working on. At about the fourth episode, I realized, I could no longer multitask this series, because it's just too damn good. I finished it with my full attention, then the next day went back and watched the first 4 episodes again with my full attention, catching a lot of things I missed. And of course, then I watched the rest again. :D
been watching you guys reaction for the Potterverse, Caitlyn is voiced by Cho Chang 🫡
I love your editor 😂
🧁 - Here you dropped this, but also, thanks!
"Betrayal, that pain that feels like it'll eat you from the inside out, can either break you or forge you into something greater." This line hits different after watching the last episode. Excellent writing.
People have been shipping jayce and Viktor from the games before the show
New arcane lets goooo
Editor really thinks they are funny with the sound affects huh......
i dunno first timne watching you but you look related
Vi was in jail for 7 years powder or jinx's is 18 and idk how old is vi tho
One of the best parts of Arcane is the amazing facial animation. Watch the brothel madame's expression when Vi asks about Power. She knows what's happened to Powder, but doesn't want to hurt Vi with the truth.
One of the greatest things about this show is the depth of All the characters. At first you think they are stereotypical good/bad/otherwise, but as the story develops you discover every character is much deeper than that. Everyone has their own motivations, background, goals and most of all are realistic.
You can't be this attractive and then come on here saying things like "lengua", Dee. ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
Lmaaoo con lengua!! 😂
Silco leaning towards Jinx in the baptism scene was such a jump scare
not if you’re not a creep, there is literally nothing romantic about their relationship
@@ranniwolves well yea duh but most ppl get concerned first watch bc they don’t know the characters yet 🤷♀️
she was in the prison since marcus grabbed her
Omfg I love the editor
I get so sick and tired of people being judgmental towards fictional characters, instead of letting them play out their roles and see what that is in the grander story they sit there and form a negative opinion based on small pieces of information then refuse to alter that opinion until the story forces them to.
God forbid people look at this show how it should be looked at, the characters are all human. Faults and all.
Are you referring to any of the characters particularly? Who were they being judgmental to?
Your editor is awesome
"But your so sweet. Like a cupcake."
So great❤
Hi!
20:10 That's the original one from when Silco ambushed him and Vandor.
30:46 & 31:26 ??? They did in the fourth episode. Marcus caught her at the end of episode 3.
But man... So many people doing Mel dirty like that. T_T
I really enjoy your reactions and reviews to Arcane. Btw your editor deserves a raise ;)
When Netflix in 2021 announced a League of Legens series everybody´s expection were really low, but Riot Games proof them wrong.
The style of animation was so unique (especially in 2021) and the way of character building and transporting emotions in this series is outstanding.
Since then I watched it multiple times already (in German and English to hear the different voice actors). Meanwhile I start getting hyped for the new season.
PS: You´re a great couple!
Cupcake ...
Neither Vi nor Sevika had any interest in a fair fight. Both of them wanted to win. It was not the olimpic games they were doing back there, you know.
And yes, Greyson tossed Vi in jail after the end of ep. 03 and never told anybody else. Think about that: if Vi had spent a single day free since then, wouldn't she have used that time to raise hell looking for Powder?
And don't diss on Mel. She's a favorite of mine, and I think you'll come around to that point of view before the end of the season.
It's a great show and I'm glad you guys are enjoying it. You guys are entertaining to watch. Though, this episode often introduces a pet peeve of mine:
I use the treatment of Marcus as a litmus test for people who are paying attention to this story. Rarely do reactors listen to the surrounding dialogue for his situation or even attempt to figure out his angle. Now, to a degree, it's hard to blame many as there's a LOT going on in this show. A lot to remember, a lot to reflect on, etc. and they're watching it blindly for the first time. The man's not a saint, but the writers deliberately wrote such intricate characters, each with their strengths and weaknesses, only for many to look at Marcus and say, "Ohh, he's just the bad guy" and write him off. It feels like a disservice to the testament of each character's story when you rush to judgement and then never truly listen or pay attention to what's happening after that when it conflicts with your initial assessment.
About Jace/ Victor, I can see Victor carrying atorch for Jace - who wouldn't notice it if somebody pointed it out with a placard the size of the Grand Canyon. A little tick, our boy Jace.
Really enjoying this! Treating the show like a 3-act story, this second arc is my favorite part because of how well they set everything up. (also shoutout to your editor, woo Ashley Mass Effect!)
You girls don't have to worry about shipping Viktor and Jayce, great part of the community was able to see that it had potential there for a romantic relationship, some people even feel like the scene where Mel and Jayce hook up to be a form of betrayal by the way it was portrayed
yea poeple should have told you to watch arcane because its an incredible fucking show. not because theres a couple gay/bi girls in it
Viktor trying to progress, meanwhile Jayce went from Hextech to sextech
