    Sorry for the lack of focus on my overhead camera. Unfortunately, the camera said it was in focus but was not as crisp as I had hoped.

      Chris, that’s awesome we should talk at some point. Would love to learn more about your work on this.

    Hi Dave
    I understand that you are a professor.

    • @CosmosSafari
      @CosmosSafari  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I teach at a community college as adjunct faculty. I probably shouldn’t use “professor” in the official context as I understand that is a very distinguished achievement for those who are full time university faculty. My students and other colleges address me as Professor, but I do not currently have the official rank as full professor. Hopefully some day.

      @@CosmosSafari thanks Dave.
      The term professor is quite ambiguous, I agree.
      Your stuff is really good, but I think you should make your status more clear since professional astronomers unfamiliar with your work might make use the ambiguity to cast doubt on your authenticity, esp since you are closely associated with a private firm (however well regarded: I have purchased several SC products and agree with you that they are excellent).
      Best,
      Doug

      Hi, I see that you have downloaded SS 7 pro, are you having any issues with it? reason for my asking I have got SS 7 pro as well, when I press the goto function in telescope mode, the scope icon moves but the mount it self does not slew. I was wondering if you had this problem? Cheers Robert Aust'
      PS Is there any body else out there reading this reply have this issue? If you solved it ,how did you fix it?

    This is a wonderful app. I hope you make a Windows version of this someday. I'd love to have it on my laptop.

      I would recommend using Starry Night for computers.

      You could also use LiveSky to get the web version of Sky Safari.

    I am using this on a S24 Ultra to find the South Celestial pole and I find that this shows a completely orientation to what is shown by PolarAligner Pro?? Any ideas why the two apps would be different? I have bought the SkySafari 6+ and the SkySafari 7+ APps to see if they are the same and both are. They seem to be pointing quite away from the SCP actual location.

      Not sure, as I don’t have access to the South Celestial Pole. #jealous

    Can I 'hard wire' my sky safari 7 pro to my serial port on my skywatcher EQ 6 R Pro mount to control the slew to a celestial object? Or does it require wifi from the phone to the mount?

    • @CosmosSafari
      @CosmosSafari  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven’t tried a hard wire from a phone or tablet. You would need to get a usb to serial adapter. I have done this with a computer on Starry Night and it worked, but not sure for Sky Safari.

    I have found when my phone connects to SkySafari 7 pro, I then press the goto button the mount doe's not slew to targets. The telrad icon moves to the target. Can you offer any help to my problem? Cheers Robert Aust'

      Without seeing it first hand or knowing anything about your setup its difficult to help. Even then, I have not tested every aspect of every possible combination of mounts and phones.

    Hello, since I can't find anywhere or anyone to answer my questions, including the devs of the app.. maybe I can ask you. Is this a stand alone app or do I need a sub?? Can I use this app if my ipad is offline? What is the refund policy? Do I need a user name and password for the app? Software devs are just crap these days...you buy their product and go to find help with it and they refer you to the community forums. I can't contact them on my ipad either. Thanks for the video... very informative..

    • @CosmosSafari
      @CosmosSafari  ปีที่แล้ว

      The app is not a subscription. You don’t need internet, the database lives on your phone. Refund policy? Not sure. No user or password, it’s a phone app. The software developers are very busy folks, and friends of mine. They have literally millions of customers. We all do our best, but it’s not really feasible to answer every single question.

      @@CosmosSafari I bought it last night and spent about 4 hours trying to figure out how to view galaxies... I can choose one from the search..and when it finds and zooms in on the galaxy there is no graphic for it, it's just black screen. Not very exciting... it has crashed twice and froze once. I see no where to hide the orbit trails or UI. I have tried downloading the GAIA database DLC 4 times now and it just stays stuck at 0.0 percent. If they have millions of customers they have millions of dollars and should hire more tech people. I spent my last 50 bucks on my apple account on it. Very disappointed. I think I'm done buying stuff through the apple store this is the second app I have bought and has not worked and no response from the devs. Have a nice day...

    • @galimirnund6543
      @galimirnund6543 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CosmosSafari Actually after trying for an hour I can't download ANY of the DLC. GAIA is stuck at %0.0 and PGC Galaxy Database is stuck at %0.7. IDK man. For the size of the initial download I can't do much with it. Prob the most disappointing is I can't view galaxies... I mean that's the exciting part right??

    Hi I have just downloaded SS7 pro onto my phone Samsung Galaxy S9 Android version 10. I have been watching all the videos on it to get to know how to use it. I wanted to put it on my tablet for the bigger screen but I get a message the this program is not suitable for my tablet, it is a Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 running Android 8.1.0, can you or any of your subscribers tell me why this is the case. Cheers Robert Aust'
