Breeding can get intense:
SO the mutations track up to 20 times per parental side. 20 Mom + 20 Papa. IF you always breed the baby with a base line (non mutated) then you could theoretically go unlimited/20 but they you hit the server level soft cap and Ark will snuff out the tame or make it so you can't summon it from Cryo. Usually hardcore breeders will focus 1-4 stats and tame any lvl 1-5 (hit them to prevent taming bonus) and sink the stats they don't need like Oxy, Food, Speed.
I was in a tribe where we had 30 HP mutations, 20 Stam and 50 Atk and had just enough room to max level.

The cryo mod you are using lets you change what they want for imprint
You should try using a PS5, it only deletes your map every other day and then for giggles it deletes your character when it feels like it! (With a "your data has been deleted due to becoming corrupted" message). I have had to turn off auto cloud back up, as it was backing up the corruption. Now I just manually back up every hour, or so, of game play. Fun times. It is worse than early Cyberpunk on the PS5, and they got taken to court by the Polish Government for selling a product not fit for purpose. If it wasn't for my masochist streak, I'd give up! lol.

If you have your super spyglass on, it will tell you whether it's male or female and the level also when you use on the eggs
Also you should craft aa health station for healing dinos uses med brews and doesn't need power 😊

SCS just pods them for you and makes it easy
How does the imprint impact it? Aren't the higher stats good?
Imprints boost base stats. Max Level dinos don't always have the best stats. best to get a load then combine them into one
