Mayhem is definitely ass, but you have to admit; Varg’s Filosofem was a good enough album to put BM into a more mainstream audiosphere. Yeah the edgy Nazi church burning shit is pretty wack but the Burzum albums are forever good albums to me. Definitely better black metal out there, but foundationary in second wave black metal.
