During a raid, the villagers you found, called Pillagers, along with Vindicators, Evokers and Ravagers, and normal mobs like witches, skeletons and zombies will spawn and try to kill villagers. It is your job to defend the village. If you do so, the villagers will lower prices. I just wrote all this out kill me

the people you killed are called pillagers, if you kill them you get the affect which is shown on the right of your screen, this is called bad omen. Next time you go to a village the village will be raided by them.
11:30 so remember the guy from 1:06 that you killed? he is a pillager, more exactly, he was the leader (you can see that because of the banner over his head). once you kill him, you get his banner and an effect that can only go away (from what I know) by drinking milk (you need to craft a bucket and then right click a cow with it). what the effect does is that once you go inside a village, a raid will start (there will also be a bar appearing at the top of the screen once that happens). during a raid, all sorts of different pillagers will attack the village and it would be up to you to save them and try not to die. it's a kinda hard boss fight (if I may call it that) so I recommend doing such a thing later in the game, once you get better weapons and armor. I hope I've been helpful!
