  • I've been meaning to get to these for ages after seing a pic online, and I finally decided to make the trip. Found in a multi storey car park which looks almost abandoned as you drive into it!
There are two lifts, oddly the one on the left being larger. The left hand one also has received a slap on mod, but has its original controller and motor, and it has a great bouncy stop. The right hand one has its original buttons, and rides much the same as the other. They both run very well considering the worn out surroundings! Ironically these lifts are probably the only interesting thing to see in this place, as the surrounding areas seem almost devoid of character.
    Tech Specs:-
Drive Type: Overhead-drive Traction, Two Speed
    Floors Served: 5
Fixtures: Dewhurst (Left Hand Car), Bennie Vandal Resistant (Right Hand Car)
    Year Installed: 1970's
Capacity:1350kg/17 Pers. (Left Hand Car), 900kg/12 Pers. (Right Hand Car)

These are EPIC, even with the left one having a Fixture Mod.

Wow! Where are these located? Bennie was eventually purchased by Kone so the interior of the right lift might be the original one. These lifts are definitely from the late 1980's and have their original dot matrix displays. It seems that although Bennie was acquired by Kone in the 1980's, the brand was still used up until the late 1980's.

It's a difficult one to judge, as the car park was built in the 1970's and they seem original

Most probably modernized, that indicator definitely not original
