Simply amazing that this all happened because of a video a bunch of HUGE nerds did years ago. I miss the boys, man.
I think OXM was just as crucial in making this happen by sneaking an unlockable japanese language demo on one of their discs that was the only bit of MWC that could be played without significant workarounds for the last decade and a half.
Canadian FGC & WWE nerds resurrected Metal Wolf Chaos. What a time to be alive. I suppose the real Metal Wolf was the Chaos we resurrected along the way.

Gotta say, after 14 years the game(after the patch) doesn't disappoint at all.
Seriously From Software, if you guys are listening I would gladly buy/play a true sequel if you do make one. That or Armored Core 6. Onegai shimasu!

I can't tell if the narration sounding just like the narration of the FunTV Silent Hill BTS documentaries is intentional or not but I love it.
Since you guys published Metal Wolf Chaos, are you guys open to the possibility of looking into the Armored Core games? I know I'm not alone when I say that many Armored Core fans would be extremely happy if a few of those games were to make their way on PC!

I wanted this game so much when I first watched the digest movie way back in 2004. So glad Devolver and FromSoftware teamed up to finally bring it to America. 15 years of waiting well worth it.

Geez, at fromsoftware even the elevator doors are hardcore!
I think the point about why it wasn't released in America at the time it was made is a kind of sad but understandable part of recent American history. America was still reeling from 9/11 and the sudden jump to a wartime mentality, people were doing the whole "support our troops" vs "no blood for oil" thing, and just overall the country and much of the world didn't have a lot of room for levity. A game with Americans versus Americans (even those participating in a coup) would have landed badly in America at the time.
A decade-and-a-half of room to adjust and plenty of memes and LP content certainly made the market sweeter for this sort of game, and I'm so glad it finally got brought over to America. Congrats FromSoft and thank you Devolver.

With the conception of The game and how it was a mech game to appeal to americans, Metal Wolf is the Ideal mech for america.
Can carry a bunch of fire arms and dual wielding them, booste around the battle field making quick work of enemies, oh and stomping on foot soldiers too.
And then there's the Blaze Attack and ability to use backpack as a heat shield for the re-entry...

The fromsoftware elevators have the roof of the elevator come down and crush you if you don't get out in time, and if you ride it all the way to ground floor you get stuck in a poison swamp, full of giant crabs, and are ambushed by Nineball Seraph.

Ok sorry, I had to haha I think it's possible if we show them we want more by buying MWC and ask for AC remasters like this, I don't know about a new game but Gundam and Gunpla has been growing alot in the US lately, not to mention the live action movie, if they go back to more real robot like combat and apply what they learned with Souls games and a bit of that formula it would definitely sell

I don't doubt AC doing well outside of Japan, but given how From is so obsessed with Souls games, and they have an equally obsessed fanbase demanding more Souls games from them, I'm skeptical AC will ever see the light of day again.
It also doesn't help that people requesting AC is immediately met with aggressive Souls Fanboys.

At least they seem to be focusing more on narrative lately, having lore on items is fun and all but having something more traditional is alot better imo, at least I hope they keep that after The Elden Ring and explore new themes like they did with Bloodborne, even if they never go back to AC or mecha games again I really want them to surprise us with new worlds again
