Along with my husband Clay, our dogs, cats, bees, and some poultry, we live in a tiny house on wheels in the mountains of western Wyoming and are working on setting into our own new little homestead. I've been living this lifestyle since 2014 and my wonderful partner has joined me more recently. What will you find if you follow the channel and watch the videos?
Real life here. I try to show the good and the bad. The ups and the downs. What works, and what doesn't. The parts I love (most of it!), and the things that suck. Not just the showroom version of a tiny house, but everyday life in a tiny house. Not just the romantic idea of "homesteading" or off grid life, but the everyday details of this lifestyle. We split wood for heat, fill the water tank from a gravity fed spring, and attempt to grow as much of our own food as possible between the weather and wildlife here. I hope to help others learn from mistakes and make life just a little easier for anyone else interested in pursuing a similar lifestyle.
We live in a somewhat harsh and cold climate, but enjoy the stunning scenery and wildlife that we are surrounded by on a daily basis. You'll also see videos of the nature and wildlife around my home. If you are interested in my photography or purchasing a photo, I'd love if you follow that over at mewe.com/join/... or ArielCelestePhotography.zenfolio.com!

For those of us who have been watching Ariel garden since way back in the clearing when she was showing us the Ruth Stout method, way back before she added the concrete blocks, way back when she was dealing with voles and explaining to us why she didn't have a greenhouse, can I just say how exciting it is that...Ariel grew tomatoes!!! 🎉🥳💗

I feel like ive seen end of garden vides for years now Ariel and every year is bittersweet. Excited for the snow to come but the garden season goes by so fast. Your containers were a smashing success, can’t wait to see what you do with them next year now that you know how they’ll produce. And those sunflowers, WOW!!! Thanks for sharing all your hardwork and knowledge.💜

Your garden makes me smile. So glad you are able to grow food before the weather turns. An idea, cut the sunflowers down to the ground and make the stalks into walking sticks. They can be very sturdy and used for hiking around.

Good afternoon Ariel, thank you for the update on the microclimate. That’s very interesting. I apologize. I usually follow everything but I haven’t heard you mention the bees at all for quite a while. Do you still have your bees? How are they doing? I realize you have so much going on maybe everything’s just well and you’ve just been sharing the newer updates with us. Thank you for bringing us along.

What a crazy country we live in, you're at 27 degrees and we've had a cold front so we"ll be 94 degrees this weekend 😂. Love the teddy bear sunflowers. I love this experiment, your beds are so colorful!

Beets, spinach, almonds and chocolate (unfortunately) are just a few foods that are super-high in oxalates and can cause various health issues - see the recent book Toxic Super Foods by Sally Norton - quite surprising! 😳

@@OkKez-c1p - Unless a person has a genetic predisposition causing a reaction to normal amounts as if a toxic level OR a person eats bushels of high oxalate plants, in general people do not need to have concerns about eating foods with high oxalate levels.

Very nice and you’ve learned so much. I love experiments too. You could pick your calendula blossoms and infuse in oil. Wonderful for your skin. I’m in GA just wishing for fall and cooler weather. Thank you for your videos.

The high temperatures would have increased the use of sugars. So, less sugars available for antifreeze.

I’d cover them to protect from frost. Tomatoes will ripen on the window sill inside. Have you dried any of your flowers? I do that a lot.😊
