The 2 best ways to tell if a watermelon is ripe are: the yellow spot that you mentioned. This is where it sat on the ground during growth. It should be definitely yellow and good size. Also, the tendril should be brown. That is the little curly part of the vine (if it's still attached). On most varieties, you have up to 2 weeks to pick it after the tendril turns brown. Don't pick it if the tendril is green.
GREAT advice. I'm going to pin this to the top of the discussion for anyone needing to know how to tell when a watermelon is JUST perfect for eating! 😋
@@wiserlivingrealty If I ever move to the USA, it'll be Springfield MO, or Overland park as first equal choices. I like Springfield a little better. Some of the countryside looks like its Canterbury NZ equivalent.
I've lived here in Nixa 23 years. I am also the author of "Images of America: Nixa," published in 2005. And "Images of America: Ozark," published 2003. But one cool thing would have been to do was find a local person who could have rode with you all and knows the history of Nixa to tell the story while you drove around our town. Thanks for showing our town on your channel. Happy trails. Michelle Korgis-Fitzpatrick
Hey Michelle! You sound like a very interesting person who knows Nixa well. You must really love this nice little city! We plan to make a few more videos on Nixa for someone who will know the town better than we do! So stay tuned. We will get a closer look at it for you.😁
To the question about watermelon, there's also a lot of watermelns out there with what's called sugar lines, they are little brown or yellow veins usually touching the yellow/white spot that will indicate how sweet it is.
I can promise you, we worry about them a lot less than you think! 😂 But I know it's a real concern. We actually did a video on the weather and some resources that you can use to find shelter. I'll link it here: th-cam.com/video/1eyQi89_RRs/w-d-xo.html All that to say, if you do seriously plan to move here, let us know! We would love to work with you. 😄
Should be noted that Nixa is not just a "suburb" of Springfield. Nixa is an entirely different legal entity from Springfield, with it's governing body and regulations. In layman's terms, Nixa is it's own city.
No Trader Joe's in this area, but there is a Mama Jean's in town! In Nixa there is Price Cutter, Harter House, and ALDI's (a favorite of ours), Walmart, Well and Good Health Market (Health Food store) there!
Blessings in an abundance of the faith. I salute you. 😘🙏Grace and peace be unto you and to this place. God bless you. 🤍🤍🤍🌈🌈🤍🤍🤍. Thank you. Will you believe and receive Jesus Christ as your LORD and personal saviour??? I do. 😊

The more I see of Springfield, the more I like it. I downloaded some pictures yesterday.
Hey there, David! I'm glad that you do like it! We are proud of this area. Let us know if you have any questions!

Looks like a really nice place!! I am considering moving there. Thank you for the tour!!!
Of course! Feel free to reach out if you want to talk about your plans. We would love to hear it!
I gotta say, if y'all are any indication of ppl who live in Missouri, I think I'm gonna get along with everyone great there! Very wholesome!
Wow, that is one of the best compliments you can give. Thank you so much! I'm sure you would get along with us as well. 😄

I will have to keep this in mind 😂, thank you for the advice!!
Didn’t you forget to mention that Nixa is home to David Webb/Jason Bourne?
We mention it in our main "Nixa" Video! We just didn't think about it in the moment!
Been there liked it
Yay! I'm glad you do. It's a nice little town. 😍
I live in Wisconsin but my son and his family live in Nixa I would move but worry about tornado's.

No need to note that. Suburbs are cities/towns surrounding a larger city with their own governments etc… No one would have assumed otherwise.
Trader Joe’s? Whole Foods? Health food stores or co-ops? Just want to know!

@@wiserlivingrealty Aldi is the best grocery store.
New Mexican restaurant, El Monarca, is so much better. That is the go to for most people these days.
That's good to know!!! When keeping up with Nixa 😂

you're on 160 not 60
Doubt people in Nixa like being referred to as a "suburb"..
I haven't had anyone complain 🤷🏻♂️ besides you wouldn't believe the number of people that live in Nixa and work in Springfield!

I'd agree with that. 😂
