  • See what I've been up to behind the scenes since the last N scale video - and learn about the mistakes I made (so hopefully you don't make them too)!

My dude.. this is absolutely PHENOMENAL! I dunno man I think you may be just as good if not better in the layout department! :)
Thank you so much for sharing this and for the kind words, keep it up boss man. You’ve gained a new sub 🤙

Thank you !!! Love all your custom work - it's super impressive !
Closest I'll get is I'm going to try and pull apart an N scale Annie and Clarabel set to make the red branch line coaches...

Really nice layout. I immediately saw a big investment just with the rolling stock, engines & track. I like that you have multiple trains parked in the layout at one time. May want to consider a turntable, engine house and a Cranky the crane 🏗 for some future action. I enjoyed watching your video.

I know how to fix the grass mat overlap crease things , there are small bags ( hornby I think ) if green powder , you can get different shades and even ballast and tarmac colours , rocks and other textures , just place some glue , sprinkle it , wait for it to dry and vacuum the remains off , repeat all over the overlaps about 3 times and you can get a nice smooth surface , also sprinkle some different shades of green and light brown down for varying grass and earth colours !

Here is how to paint them red .
1 unscrew them from the chassis and remove the roofs with some force and they will pop of taking the glass with them .
    2. Sand down the nose and face print with a mail file in first that hard sand like texture and after a softer one for smoothness (it’s what I use anyways.
Then paint them by hand with a brush or spray them in there reds . For spraying the paint get a lump of blue tack and stick it under the cosch boxy facing the top way up . On a large flat rock . Then get spraying . Tho don’t stay on the same spot for long otherwise it will get crowded and begin to overfill the area then making you loose all the detail and £40
    3. Once it has all dried and you have done as many coaches as you want to do . Screw the body back onto the chassis .
4 the roof is the harder section . You need to mask around the windows . Just do it rather roughly . Then get some black paint and a brush . Hand painting this spot is important . And paint it black . Then once that is complete and all dried . Get some clear coat spray Matt from a shop and your going to want to spray the roof with that .
Then once the roof is all good and dried remove the tape from the windows and stick the roof back on the body once again.
5 . Finally it’s all dried and almost ready . Once the model is all back together get some . Metallic sharpie pens including bronze , gold and silver . Using them you do the handrails very gently to make sure you don’t slip or anything . Use the gold for the handrails along the body and use the silver on the buffers to make them stand out more and finally the bronze for the vents on the roof . Each of them in bronze and like the handrails be careful so your hand doesn’t slip
    Finished models
There is how to make n scale red branch line coaches .
Step by step tutorial on how to do it and each step . It will take you about 3 hours to complete them
I will be doing it myself once I get the money for a Bachman Annie and clarabel .
These same steps can be followed for other coaches only you replace the red paint with green or whatever other spray you can find or like
Anyways that’s my tutorial and hope you like it . If you want me to eventually make a video on it like my comment and subscribe to my channel please .
Ok that’s all bye and your welcome for the tips 😃👍🏽

I'm seriously considering purchasing the Bachmann N-scale Thomas starter set.

It's pretty nifty - as long as you can look past the scale with Annie and Thomas issue !

I got the same signal box, and I also have a bogey wagon too, I don't have any of the thomas n gauge stuff though, I got a custom edward and thomas, and some other random locos, I will hopefully try to get some of the bachmann stuff soon

Cool layout! I love how you managed to pack so much action into such a tiny space, which isn't easy to do. I am planning on starting an N-scale Thomas layout in the near future as well, so this may serve as some inspiration.
If I may ask, do you still have your Tomix Ffarquhar station, and do you plan on using it? If not, would it be possible to buy it from you? I would really like a Thomas-specific building on my layout to drive home that it is a model of Thomas' branchline. If you can't or don't want to sell it, no biggie :)

      Hi!!!
Thanks for the feedback - this over/under loop design is a good one (I would just redo the curve radius if I could redo the whole thing so the engines struggle less) but it's recommended!
I do still have my Tomix stuff - the station doesn't scale well with the Bachman / UK N stuff which is why I have replaced it with a kit built station, but I'll be holding onto it for a future use ;)
However I've seen a few of them on eBay for a decent price !

Again a very lovely layout, would love to see a running video sometime with just some low track level shots, I'm sure it'd look very nice.
Love the configuration of the layout, was watching the Owigawa Thomas video the other day and was trying to figure out how Thomas kept switching levels, I didn't notice the gradient from the one side haha.
If I may ask, about how big is the layout in terms of foot by foot?
I don't usually meddle in N scale all too much, although I do have some Tomix stuff and wouldn't mind setting up something similar sometime my self since I don't have the room for OO layouts like I used to..

If I were in o give a simple suggestion you can fit capsule plarail shells on n scale stuff you could possibly have other characters like Gordon Sonny Duck , and Henry or you could buy British n scale items and repaint them into Thomas characters an A4 into Spencer
