Chongqing is a national historical and cultural city. In June 2022, Chongqing will receive another 20 million yuan from the central characteristic carrier innovation and entrepreneurship upgrade award.
this place looks unreal, like straight out of a video game. the architecture is jaw dropping, infrastructure is so intricate and detailed. this place is absolutely massive, it’s mind-blowing that a city of this magnitude can fly under the radar and be relatively unheard of. I’m a sucker for urban planning and this is hitting the spot on the highest level
I was gonna make that video game comment. Like if I saw this as a track for a racing game and I had no prior knowledge of this being an actual city I'd think it'd be too good to be real. Very beautiful city.
some of the most modern videogames and technical computer graphic demonstrations are becoming harder to distinguish from reality, so sometimes you do question what you are seeing
I honestly thought this was a game for like the first 2 minutes
The buildings across the waterfront under the bridge were beautiful, what a sudden sight to behold.
Intricate is not good.. intricacy makes it terrible to navigate and bad to live in for human beings. Causes lots of stress, health issues, and depression. The only thing that saves it are the beautiful hills, cleanliness, and natural scenary.
Notice how sometimes the lanes merge with very little indication as to when/where. Sometimes lane lines disappear and reappear in totally different places forcing him to change lanes at an intersection (dangerous). Also seems to have very little public transit, I did not see many buses or any trains.
Gosh, Chongqing's road infrastructure looks and feels like it could be one of the road course for Gran Turismo 7 racing game!

with most have very narrow roads? i don't think so
@@Spheredalai Come on, think about Monte Carlo...
Mate china looks nicer than many many western European countries
@@jackdrought873 I don’t disagree, chinese cities + infrastructure looks sick. but a lot of europe is also old as balls, and pretty much the entirety of this was built in the last 20-30 years.
As a Canadian this blows my mind simply because at 32 million people it is just shy of the 38 million people living in ALL of Canada. Just wild. Beautiful city!
china has a lot of people
haha, actually Chongqing is a municipality so it's basically a province. Among the 32 million people, 24 million of them live in the suburbs or villages, but a city with 8 million people is still very large.
infrastructures in China are way better than Canadians, but the traffic jams in China are way more severe, I have experienced 1 hour for just 2 miles back and forth. (during the pandemic no very much ppl willing to take public transport)
The concept of city in China is way different from other countries. Chongqing is as big as province, but people call it Chongqing city.actually only 9million people living in the main city of Chongqing
have you ever heard of los angeles
So much green. Bravo to the city planners for not overlooking this crucially important aspect
I love it, but they also have weather enhancements like we do in Europe, a little spray and frequencies. Look at the sky in the beginning...
44:38 you have all the old style architecture built into the hills with all the modern bridges and skyscrapers in the background, the color composition of everything like the red accent on the bridge, it's like a scene straight out of a fantasy video game. Absolutely stunning.

I wonder what this city looked like 30 years ago! Most American cities have stopped developing. Look at Detroit...
@@iamgermane America is deteriorating, even Russian cities already look better
@@jeomirit Yes I know. There some Russia on TH-cam and all the cities look great!
@@iamgermane "Most American cities have stopped developing".. 🤦♂ 🤣 ... then proceeds to point out one of the worst exceptions. Yea, if you want to live in communism, your money is going places where only a few people decide. Also, I'd wager this is one of the better cities in China. For every "Detroit" in the US, there are 10 worse ones in China and Russia. Cities across the US are constantly expanding and developing. Where is the proof that they haven't?
Look at businesses. A lot of them can look like "great places to be", until you find out the workers are barely making $15/hr. Then take a look at others, that are "run down", and the workers are paid a good wage and good benefits.
I have a different opinion on the points you mentioned in your comment. First of all about Chongqing, according to Wikipedia, it ranks 19th among Chinese cities in terms of population and 16th among Chinese cities in terms of GDP, so you can assess where it stands in terms of Chinese cities. As far as I know, Detroit is an industrial city famous for the automobile industry, and then something happened that caused the recession, and I'm not an American and I'm not from Detroit, so I don't know if Detroit is the worst city in the United States, but I can tell you Chongqing is not the best city in China. Of course, "most American cities have stopped growing" is too much to make me doubt the truth of this statement. The infrastructure of most Chinese cities has been built in the last 20 years or so, so it will look new and modern, while New York became a modern metropolis, most Chinese cities were turned into ruins by the war. Third, you said that China and Russia also have their own Detroit. I do not know about Russia, but I can tell you that China does not have a big city like Detroit in decline. In China, there is a small city named Hegang similar to Detroit, which used to be a small city dependent on coal industry, but later the exhaustion of coal resources led to urban decline@@lukeuseforce

@@Kalifornia11 That's not a problem at all. Otherwise Switzerland wouldn't be one of the best and safest places on earth. My point is flaws like "cheap and easy > safety" like at 4:04 where you have NO WAY of telling that two lanes get collapsed. No warning, no big signs, very short distance, very unreasonable. The moment at 5:20 gave me goosebumps, who thought this could be an idea?? Someone is literally standing IN FRONT OF YOU on a freaking HIGH WAY to turn? China has some cool technical stuff going on, but as it suits their moral; on expense of safety and compassion. All that counts in efficiency and cheapness.
Absolutely impressive, the scale of the buildings and infrastructure is beyond anything I've ever seen. Then I reminded myself that Chongqing is one of the largest cities on the planet, easily surpassing New York City in population, but very few people in the west even know that it exists.

I'm from the USA (Chicago) and I have to say that Chongqing is one of my favorite cities on Earth... it's not quite as easy to get to for a tourist as the large coastal cities, but if you can make it here, absolutely do it. Lots of history, great nightlife, some of the best food in China (home of hotpot,) and one of the most interesting and unique cityscapes you'll ever experience... a river metropolis with winding roads, an eclectic mix of building styles both old and new, built amongst the hills and forests. Had an wonderful pleasure to stay 10 days in this city. It's unreal, the old, the modern, the working people, the way people treat you. It's so big, but so peaceful, very different from the big Brazilian cities. My wife is native from Chongqing and if I could would live in this city. No words to describe, just the video shows more than words. Even she got surprised how the city developed from the years she didn't come back. On the way back we took the high speed train to Shanghai, the train was equipped with beds. Chinese people are very strong in spirit, they developed from the ashes of the poverty and famine from the last century. It's understandable how the world fears China, but few people really knows China.

God, this is actually beautiful. I have never seen a modern mountainous city like this before. I love the many enclave of commercial centres that you drove from one to another along these high elevated roads at the side of the mountains. Very unique.
No mass advertising, No people druged out their minds roaming the streets, no homeless, City very tidy. Thanks for sharing.
Communism wins
Yeah this makes American cities look almost 3rd world. The roads suck, homeless every where, destroyed sidewalks, graffiti everywhere. I don’t see any of that in this city
Mass advertising appears, maybe you did't pay attention to them, and there are a lot of light pollution ads at night on the façade of the building, which I don't like. The latter points are correct.
@@CCCCC7779 These cities and buildings in China are about 5~20 years old. Easy to build up a city that doesn't have old infrastructure in place. In different video, it showed a subway entrance out in the middle of nowhere. It was a rural area, from green forest to slightly constructed land and equipment. Dirt roads. You can go down the brand new stairs, and there's a subway stop with nobody there, but trains will stop and go.
About 12 months later at that same stop, its next to a new road, buildings, traffic, people, etc. It's wild.
@@d-dude7323 progression of life!.
Absolutely stunning place. Totally agree with the previous commenters. I can't believe that this huge megapolis could be so unknown in other parts of the world. I myself had to know about Chongqing just a few months ago and I feel in love with it from the first sight. I really wish to visit it someday. It looks exactly like a place from a fantasy world especially at evenings and it's so clean and cosy. Perfect
It's unknown because China is not a very open country. The flow of information to the outside is restricted.
@@Fragenzeichenplatte It is unknown because your gov and media never want to show you and let you know so that you become ignorant and complacent and think your gov is so much better than the Chinese gov.
@@firefly4784 My government is in fact much better than the Chinese government. Not even close.
My government also doesn't want to keep me ignorant. Maybe consider that you're the ignorant here and that maybe it's you who's incorrect. After all, it's a fact that all Chinese media is under government control and there's no free press that is allowed to be critical.
@@Fragenzeichenplatte If your gov and media are doing a good job, how come you don’t know Chongqing etc, and have to rely on Chinese TH-camr’s videos to have some idea? If these videos did not flow out of China, there is no way you could know, right? You see that your statement of information not free to go out of China is self contradictory
@@firefly4784 I don't know what you're talking about. I never said I don't know the city. I knew about it beforehand long ago so no, nothing is in contradiction.
Are you arguing someone not knowing about a city in China is on the level of government-controlled media? That the only reason someone doesn't know about because their own government censors information out of China and is therefore worse than China?
The city looks futuristic and the roads neat. Must be very nice to drive in the city
Wow that's such a pretty city. I'd live there ❤❤
Wow; I never imagined this city would look so beautiful!
One of my favorite parts of Chongqing is how every bridge is walkable. Gives you superb sights of the city, and since the rivers aren't straight, every angle is different.
Beautiful city, it’s massive, a lot of green. Can’t believe how clean and well kept it is for its size. My mother and sister visited this city a few years ago but I never imagined it like this. I have to go myself, thank you for the video!
Thanks!
Thanks for a very peaceful and beautiful video, simply spell bounding, awestruck, mesmerizing, tantalizing trip..i can't wait to visit this city. Thanks again. Lovely experience.
Thanks! Welcome to travel to China!
哈哈哈哈,在这也能看到你的视频,我在头条也刚关注了你🎉
発展していて街が綺麗に整備されていてすごく美しいですね。ずっと見ていたい風景。是非死ぬまでに一度は行ってみたいです。

@@mrchildrenen Come on, I also want to travel to Japan
@@mrchildrenen Welcome to China, there are beautiful places in Japan too, I want to go travelling so much, but I have neither the time nor the money🤣

Back in 2019, i went on a school tour to China, and the last place we visited was Chongqing, and i loved my time there. I loved the unique designs of the local infrastructure, the hongya cave and other landmarks, as well as the positive vibes from the area. I enjoyed my time there and would gladly go back without hesitation.
How did you manage to move around chinese big cities? Their cities are not known for being tourist-friendly. You cannot read anything, understand anything, almost no one speaks english. it s a dream to visit Chongqing, but very difficult to handle, i guess...
@@achafilms3968 we either walked to our destinations or had a reserved coach to take us around, as well as catching the high speed train to travel from city to city
@@achafilms3968 in addition, there were plenty of students who studied chinese so they helped us out with translations and asking questions
