I have a question: when going for sweep single, is it ideal to bring the leg down and end up with one of your hands on on their ankle so that you can table their leg, or is it better to go for lift and trip? I notice sidakov and sadulaev drop for the ankle a lot as soon as they catch the sweep single.
The real answer is it depends on their defense. My preference as a coach is to have the wrestler get to their feet. The athlete could also have a different preference depending on where they tend to score the most takedowns.
