- Bat-eared foxes may be small, but they have huge ears sensitive enough to pick up sounds made by insects under the surface of the Kalahari Desert, thus providing their main source of nourishment. German naturalist Margit Du Toit is dedicated to studying and protecting the fascinating creatures in their natural habitat, and this film about her work on her farm in Namibia provides a stunning insight into these extraordinary animals.

sometimes with time it happens i made friends with 10 swans in local river in oz the big male i named Bruce

Evidently the hosts/narrators learn with great difficulty despite their high paying jobs!😊. I can't remember how many times I have corrected them in the last year when it comes to the proper usage of "Poisonous" and "Venomous". In the greatest majority of times they use these two words improperly. Here is the definition from Encyclopedia Britannica: "We hear about poisonous snakes and poisonous spiders all the time. But usually what people mean is VENOMOUS. Venomous animals inject toxins into their victims, while Poisonous animals are toxic when they are eaten."
Now I want a bat eared fox !

Why can't ranchers consider the small loss of their stock to predators as tithing? For one thing, they are taking up large tracks of land for their herds and selfishly feel they have a right to control it all. It really pisses me off.

Talk about a labor of love. How fortunate we are to have a woman make this study. Men, for the most part, don't have the sensitivity to produce this kind of presentation. Had we, as a specie, started off on a more humane footing with nature, perhaps a kinder interactive relationship would have developed?

Adorable and a valuable study, but I hope that since then they've adopted the practice of not acclimating wildlife to humans, and especially not feeding them.
The consequence of killing a predator, as in shooting it with a lethal weapon, is that it doesn't pass on its experience of being killed to its young.. A painful hit with a rock from a sling or other such device like a rubber bullet will in the long run teach an animal to avoid attacking live stock.

When will you stop promoting the ridiculous idea that the most complex mechanisms known to man were born by blind-luck?! Everything we know, by using real science, is that things become less-complex over time, this is in complete opposition to your unsupported religious views. Please give us an example of a system becoming more complex, without human interference, over time, which has been clearly seen during its stages of evolution. -that is, not what you 'imagine' to happen, but actual observable proof.
