by far the best drum cover i have ever seen on youtube. who cares if u arent 'into it'. ur in a friggin studio not on stage lol. good job man and only two years or exp.
Last night when I saw Parkway some guy had a sign to say if he could play Romance Is Dead on the drums and they let him! I envy him so much even though I don't play drums :D Really good cover anyway! \m/
In this particular video I was using a set of mics all running into a cheap mixer I bought off ebay. I then had a stereo audio cable running from the mixer to the computer where I used Audacity to record. These days I have the mics running into a firewire interface called a Firepod which then goes into the computer where I use Sonar 8. This is more expensive but it sounds much better and you can do more with it. Nice videos btw, definitely need some better audio :)
@xBryceHD if you mean drumkit, any standard sized drum kit will do, that's usually but not limited to 22" kick, 10" 12" 14" toms and 14" snare. it also depends on your budget.
Hey thanks for the comments. It's hard to say because I haven't used the eliminators or Iron Cobras much. From my experience, the Yamaha direct drive pedals are very light with not much feeling of weight. They are definitely good, but the feeling of the pedal is a personal preference. The Yamahas I saw were $800 in Australia, I got mine for $400, depends on how much you want to spend too i guess.
Lol ask as many questions as you want. My double kick pedal was $400 from America, it was $800 here in Australia. They are Yamaha Direct Drive pedals. My first double bass pedals were around $120 off ebay, and they are still selling heaps of the same ones I think. Remember that single pedal is still very important since a lot of people start to become dependent on double pedals.
They are Bardi Silver Flute Series mics. It was a cheap set of 8 new mics that were on Ebay, I don't know if they are good quality or not because the manual for it was dodgy and so were the clips and I don't have a lot of recording experience. I think they can still be bought brand new off Ebay.
I love your whole set , it's fucking awesome and so are you. But you should lower the sound of your snare just a lil bit and make your kicks sound higher bc i didn't hear them. Everything else was good :) ( Especially love your snare ^^)
There are no muters except for the snare drum. Those drum heads are Evans Hydraulics and are coloured black, Hydraulics have a very focused sound and my recording equipment wasn't high quality. The drum heads are tuned really low because the room I am playing in has no reverb at all and so a lower tuning suits it better. When I listen to the song I never hear any double time hi-hat. What part in particular are you talking about?
Awesome dude , i'm trying this one out on my drums , but don't have a double bass yet .. so it kinda suckt without =D 2 questions : what kinda cymbals do you have on the left , and on the right the sabian , can you give me the names pls see ya
I have only played the Sabian AAX, haven't tried the Zilldjian A customs. But I can say that the Sabians are definitely good, quite a bright sound. I'm sure they are both great though.
@CutOutYourThroath The setup I had here is quite old so I don't fully remember but it might have cost about $500 for a mixing board, 7 mics and cables.
Oh I get what you mean. I tried to play as close as possible to what the original drums were playing on the song and I only heard 2 hi-hats a bar so I decided to play that.
Yeah I'm using a double pedal. They are Yamaha Twin Drive pedals. Unfortunately i didn't mix the sound too well in this video so it is pretty hard to hear.
@NTH96795 Nope, just plain old double kick technique. Swivel technique is more of a feeling of momentum which helps some people with double kick but i don't find it necessary.
Lol, I have a double bass pedal and you can only see my left beater while i use the right beater most of the time hence no movement on that left beater.
thanks for the quick reply :) how much did you pay for you double bass :D shit all these questions ^ ^ i'm drumming for almost 2 years and still doesn't have a double bass , it's getting annoyed =D
@tauntGforce1488 Hmmm, depends on the sound you want really. I'm becoming a fan of bigger cymbals so I would personally try a 19" crash. I like the 18" china i have better than the 16" one i had before.
Hey man, I'm a drummer too, Just wondering what you use for recording your sounds and how you do it, I'm looking into doing some mic'd drum covers as opposed to doing just with the camera mac which obviously sounds like crap. Anyways, thanks for any info you can throw my way, and check out some of my videos if you have a second :)
I have an Sabian AAX 16" Crash, Sabian AA 16" Crash, 16" Wuhan China, Sabian AA 20" Ride and 14" Hi-hats. The bass is miced, but the volume is really low on this video.
Hey man, Nice stuff. I'm just curious what area you live in and if you interested in becoming a group drummer in a hardcore/grindcore style band. Post me back as soon as you can mate.
@tauntGforce1488 ive got a sabian b8 16" thin crash. its good for this genre of music.especially parkway :)))))) definately my fav cymbal from my collection.
i dont know man, its nice, but the kicks... its rare, its xtrange, u move u feets a little, and sound like that? i dont know dude... but its prettty nice :)
Definitely by listening, tabs are almost always wrong, or are missing important bits. My pedal tension is pretty average, they arn't mega tight, just somewhere in the middle.
by far the best drum cover i have ever seen on youtube. who cares if u arent 'into it'. ur in a friggin studio not on stage lol. good job man and only two years or exp.
dude this is pretty good
i couldn't pick a fault to be honest
keep it up dude
Hey, thanks for sharing that, Between the Buried and Me are absolutely killer!
I'll definitely try to cover one of their songs.
technique is great and playing of the song is really accurate
great cover!
Last night when I saw Parkway some guy had a sign to say if he could play Romance Is Dead on the drums and they let him! I envy him so much even though I don't play drums :D Really good cover anyway! \m/
Love your snare, man!
Awesome video btw
Sick mic setup.

:O holy crap that was good.
I am subscribing 5/5
Great job
Thanks man, The hi-hat is a Sabian AA and the crash on the left is a Sabian AAX. The crash and ride on the right are both Sabian AAs.
dude this is fuckin sweet love the sound of the toms to, awsome cover
Hey man, the kit is a Mapex Orion Classic series and the tom heads are Evans Hydraulics. I think the snare head is something like a Remo Ambassador.
awesome cover im learning this song now. im subscribing
Man that was very good!
keep it up
@xBryceHD if you mean drumkit, any standard sized drum kit will do, that's usually but not limited to 22" kick, 10" 12" 14" toms and 14" snare. it also depends on your budget.
love the snare tone
Hey thanks for the comments.

fucking awesome bro! GREAT song and this did it justice! GREAT cover! just wish i could hear your double bass kicks a little more!
Thanks. The drum kit is a Mapex Orion Classic. The snare is a Mapex black panther.
I love your whole set , it's fucking awesome and so are you. But you should lower the sound of your snare just a lil bit and make your kicks sound higher bc i didn't hear them. Everything else was good :) ( Especially love your snare ^^)

Ahhh crap...I'm all the way in Melbourne, But yeah was just curious man. Thanks for the reply though mate...make sure you keep drumming bro.
The snare is a Mapex Black Panther Classic I think. Not sure how much it was because I bought it with the drum kit.
keep it up 5/5 great work!
your awesome man :}
earned my subscription :D
Awesome dude , i'm trying this one out on my drums , but don't have a double bass yet .. so it kinda suckt without =D
2 questions : what kinda cymbals do you have on the left , and on the right the sabian , can you give me the names pls
see ya
awesome!
thanks man...would you recommend the sabian 16" AAX crash and the or would a zildjan A custom be better? for the crash
Nice cover! I'll learn from it ;)
Pretty good man.. sounds real clean!
What kind of snare is that?
Hey thanks for the comment, I live on the Gold Coast. At the moment I'm looking for some cover bands to play in to make some money.
forgot to say its an awesome job! :D
Can u tell me what it costs in total to have this kind of quality? (drummics, cabels maybe and mixer)
Thanks man, yeah I wish I could hear the kicks more too, I'm still pretty clueless on all this mixing stuff lol.
Lol thanks, yeah I do look pretty stiff.
The kit is a Mapex Orion Classic, the snare is a Mapex Black Panther and the cymbals are Sabian AA's
Nice cover man, I play drums myself and am doing this song as a cover so Yea :D
Cool, thanks for the offer too.
Thanks, keep at it and you'll get there.
@devonkendog i do try to but its hard to hear every note on metal music
I have only played the Sabian AAX, haven't tried the Zilldjian A customs. But I can say that the Sabians are definitely good, quite a bright sound. I'm sure they are both great though.
@CutOutYourThroath The setup I had here is quite old so I don't fully remember but it might have cost about $500 for a mixing board, 7 mics and cables.
Yeah, It does have a mic, but they mixer I used was pretty cruddy lol.
Oh I get what you mean. I tried to play as close as possible to what the original drums were playing on the song and I only heard 2 hi-hats a bar so I decided to play that.
Yeah I'm using a double pedal. They are Yamaha Twin Drive pedals. Unfortunately i didn't mix the sound too well in this video so it is pretty hard to hear.
do you do requests? lol. If so you should do some Between The Buried And Me...or For Today.
epic cover man, do u have tabs
sickkkk :))
x
I was using a cheap mixing desk, hence the crusty sound quality form the mics
Thanks, it's a Mapex Black Panther snare
@NTH96795 Nope, just plain old double kick technique. Swivel technique is more of a feeling of momentum which helps some people with double kick but i don't find it necessary.
Lol, I have a double bass pedal and you can only see my left beater while i use the right beater most of the time hence no movement on that left beater.
@SweetNoteage Are you serious? They let him play?! Was it any good?
Yeah they were reasonably tight, the mixer i used back then was low quality so the sound wasn't true to the actual drum sound.
Yeah, I have been thinking about it recently.
Yes, thats what i use..awesome quality for an awesome price.
Thanks, they are Evans Hydraulics. I don't think they are as easy to find as other heads.
like the snare :O :D
I think I ordered them through Billy Hyde. They are Evans Hydraulics.
hey nice cover. Hey do use a double pedal, cuz it looks like u have a single? jw
yeah thats the same thing
but it just has lamb of god stuff on the side
any way how much did it cost
thanks for the quick reply :)
how much did you pay for you double bass :D shit all these questions ^ ^
i'm drumming for almost 2 years and still doesn't have a double bass , it's getting annoyed =D
I play it how i hear it. I'm also pretty sure he plays it like that anyway. I've seen them live.
It is a Mapex Black Panther snare
fucking epic man nice!
are those evans hydraulics on the toms?
What cymbal are you playing at like 2:00 ?
Nice cover man.
@Jivi beautiful sets i have one
@tauntGforce1488 Hmmm, depends on the sound you want really. I'm becoming a fan of bigger cymbals so I would personally try a 19" crash. I like the 18" china i have better than the 16" one i had before.
what cymbals do you have? and is your bass miced?
The crash on the left is a Sabian AAX and everything else except for the China which you can't see are Sabian AA's. The China I use is a Wuhan 16".
Hey man, I'm a drummer too, Just wondering what you use for recording your sounds and how you do it, I'm looking into doing some mic'd drum covers as opposed to doing just with the camera mac which obviously sounds like crap. Ha someone else said that in another video, I'm working on it.
Fucking great man.
@KrystlMethod how so?
Hey man, Nice stuff. I'm just curious what area you live in and if you interested in becoming a group drummer in a hardcore/grindcore style band.
Post me back as soon as you can mate.
Oh right.
I'm not sure how much it cost since I bought the whole kit including snare for 2 grand.
@xBryceHD sometimes u really only need 2 toms
but thats just what i prefer
I learned it all by ear
yes they are
@tauntGforce1488 ive got a sabian b8 16" thin crash. its good for this genre of music.especially parkway :)))))) definately my fav cymbal from my collection.
alright thanks!
is that a chris adler snare
@KrystlMethod orly?
Thanks, that would be a Sabian AA 16" Crash.

And relationships come second... especially ours XD
Yeah couldn't make it any louder at the time of recording
u have the notes?
@MattBeardyKH202 It was at the Manchester Academy on November 5th 2010. Somebody did put a link up to the video! watch?v=svSQCDjwFZw
i dont know man, its nice, but the kicks... its rare, its xtrange, u move u feets a little, and sound like that? i dont know dude...
but its prettty nice :)
@xBryceHD if you have a lot of money you might wanna look for a Truth custom drums kit, maby a pearl 5 peice if no truth.
awesome stuff. snare is just a bit too loud. turn everything up. especially double kick.
@TheKratosKill666 Yeah man, from I could see and hear it was pretty dead on! \m/
evans hydraulics
Definitely by listening, tabs are almost always wrong, or are missing important bits.
My pedal tension is pretty average, they arn't mega tight, just somewhere in the middle.
