grab a cup of water cause this is a LONG ONE -- there's no visually appealing parts except for the chair building segment (it was so fun to watch that part come together) and if you're here for the art lore, i hope it's motivating in some way to give you that push if you've been thinking about starting :o)
🍠 Hi Mel, your video gives me so much comfort. I have been following you for a long time. I remember the days when you used to cut stickers with scissors. It is amazing that you have juggled study with art. It is great to hear that you got a job now. Good Luck for your working life starting from June. I am so proud of you. I also wish to start an Etsy shop but it will be on digital products. Your passion for art shows when you focus more on quality time rather than numbers. Your chill vibes and soft voice is the new “rizz” in your niche. Love you 3000!
I completely understand what you mean about long form vs short form content. I spend ages making and editing long videos on here and the traction is nothing compared to short form, sometimes I question it entirely even though I love making them 😭
🍠 Hi Mel, I'm from México, I'm 45 years old and I've been watching your videos for a year and a half and I love them!! This video in particular has inspired me to return to drawing, since I left it many years ago and it would be amazing to return to it and share it!! I have a lot to learn, since I draw on paper 😅 and today You cam do it on a tablet and print stickers at home and so many things that can be created, it is a whole world of possibilities that art gives us, right?! So, thank you very much for your art and sharing it!! May You continue to be very successful in everything you do! The best whishes to You always!!🤗🌷
🍠 it's the encouragement that we all need to take that leap and your story helps so many. You give people hope, you help people challenge themselves to create, and you give people the confidence they need bc you outline all of your steps. So thank you. For documenting, explaining, showing the good and bad... everything.
🍠 It's so nice that you are encouraging others to follow their passions. I like this age of art. When I was first getting started in art online in 2014, it was a gate kept society, and no one was trying to share anything.
🍠 i have been working on a spring shop update with a lot of tulip related flowers, since they're my favourite flower! i love crocheting them and drawing them as well :)
🍠 your videos always calm me down and make me want to create too 🥹 i currently crafting some necklaces, love it 🤩 always looking forward to your videos 🥰 and congrats on your new job 🥹
🍠 I like that you're talking more in these videos! It's nice to hear your perspective on things and where you've come from on youtube. And your art has improved so much since your earliest work, that's so cool to see! Good for you and thanks again for sharing your videos with us :)
I have been following you for such a long time, I really enjoy your videos and how passionate, yet realistic you are with your art as both a hobby and a job. Sending lots of love from France 💛🍠💛🍠💛🍠
🍠 i've been struggling so much in starting selling art.. love this video and i enjoyed the talking parts. all the best in your new job! i think alot about the time i have left with my cat too. sometimes i feel like i won't be able to take it.
🍠yay! I am definitely part of the group of people who was really inspired to start putting my art out there because of you. Your vlogs were very real and truly showed that we can all really do it if we try 🤩tysm and keep doing what you doing!💪💛
Hi mel, I've been watching your videos for some years, I still don't sell something or have a small business, but I'm sure soon I will, and you've been part of this decision. Thanks for your videos, you always inspired me 💗🍠
thank you for taking the time to make this long video it must have been so exhausting editing it! your warmth and authentic personality is truly appreciated, thank you for being you

Also yes trying times indeed. I had a blast watching your full video as I work away. Thank you for this and yes I watch till the end always with creators that I enjoy. Have a super good week talk soon
ohemgee its insane how much u have grown & improved since i first started watching ur videos in like 2021?? or when u jst started, i still rmb my first comment was asking u about which printer model u were using or smt like that HAHAHA, cant wait to see u reach even greater heights Mel! ❤❤
watching your video in full while researching for articles for my assignment & i jst realized u were watching baby reindeer too! i finished it last week? or mayb 2 weeks ago, it was quite creepy but nice at the same time!
sorry udh to reply to this but im just finishing up the video while managing my assignments but i actually started watching tiffany first then yt recommended you to me HAHAHA!!!
🍠 mel! this vlog doesn't feel like 56mins at all?! 🥹 Congrats on the new job!!! I've been watching you since 2020 (??) i'm so happy to witness your growth the past 4 years! 🩷 I was just looking up reviews on the ipad and I happen to came across your draw with me videos and I can clearly remember that time you were cutting your stickers using scissors!! 🥹 You were def one of the ppl to convinced me to buy an Ipad back then-and i did bought one! If only shipping doesn't cost much I would love to buy your art prints & stickers. :( you're one of my fave ppl on the internet and I always come back to your channel and watch your videos, they bring me comfort sm!!! and motivates me to draw when i feel overwhelmed. It's like you're my long distance friend and we're catching up every time i watch your videos. Thank you for sharing your experience, and for sharing tips!! Will always be here to support you meeeel!! ✨
I love your videos. I've had a hiatus from drawing for over a year now and watching your videos makes me want to get back to it! I know I'm gonna have to relearn Procreate because it's been so long!
🍠 Hi Mel, I started watching you a few years ago and loved your art and chill vibe. I subscribed when I found out you speak Teochew too! LOL! Good luck on your new job and keep creating art! I look forward to all your videos. Thank you! 🍠
🍠 Hi! I recently had a baby and am now a stay at home mom. I've decided to get back into art again while home and am here gaining inspiration for that.:) Thank you for all of your advice!
I didn't even realize there was a sweet potato emoji. 🍠I'm new to your channel and I super appreciate you sharing your experience and being transparent! It's like listening to the chillest art podcast while I design I hope doggo gets rid of congestion soon
🍠 Hi Mel! I’ve been watching you from day one ( not in a creepy way 😅) Watching you grow, both as an artist and as a person definitely made me feel less alone in my journey as an artist and you felt like a friend 🤍
🍠🍠🍠🍠🍠 you are definitely an inspiration to me since you started your art journey. My goal by the end of this year is to brush up on my art skills and open an Etsy shop. Thank you for all the relaxing vlogs you do! 😊
I’m from Thailand. I follow you 2-3 years ago i feeling like you is my lovely friend and my inspirations i love video, i try to draw and learning use Procreate because of you, also I loaded Twitch. if i’m free hope to see you streaming. anyway my English is not good but i try to understand. love you mel ❤️
🍠 thanks for the advice! I’m really struggling to make my first sale on Etsy. I’ve only ever made sales in person. Etsy doesn’t seem to be driving much traffic to my page. Any advice on making that first sale?
🍠 Hi Mel! I just got to know your channel. I'm feeling inspired after watching your video, I sincerely have been caught up in self doubt 😞 trying to find my thing you know? What makes me happy. Thank you for the advices and I wish you lots of success! 😊
Have you made waterproof stickers (bottle stickers) yourself? if so can I ask what paper and laminate you used? I've been trying online labels weatherproof with laminate but they curl on bottles, it's been taking me so much time to even start ... and for your clay products I saw you're using polymer clay and uv resin but do you use airclay too? polymer clay and UV resin seem common but I heard they're giving chemical smokes (when baking) and uv resin also gives fumes (?) so I'm kind of hesitant to do it as I live with my family. on the other hand also questioned about the durability of airclay.. Thank you for sharing this video :)
i tried self laminating once but it was really difficult with the air bubbles LOL it was some type of roll but i forget the same. oven bake clay is safe i think! but yes UV resin definitely isn't safe, i have to trap myself into a room with a window and respirator mask :') air dry clay is great too though! + something like a sculpey glaze will give you the shine and protection without the fumes.
🍠 Hi mel, I started my shop a month ago and I'm getting really unmotivated...bcs I have no orders. It's hard to keep going..But I can't imagine doing something else than art..So I hope thinks get better.

thanks for raising that point up! i repressed all thoughts of taxes cause they're such a hassle but it does play a big part in stopping people. for anyone thinking of starting on etsy in the US, taxes will depend on the amount you're earning + definitely do your research in the state you live in, but etsy does a great job in walking you through it!
