      Its a private company. A company like MetroWest. They normally dont respond to code 3 calls, at least not in my area. When it comes to private companys they can be super fast or super slow it all comes down to where the nearest unit is located.

      Maybe this kind of talk reminds that you are human doing a great job. Not many people continue doing their work after seeing someone die. That becomes a routine as it should be to move on. Otherwise your next patient might be unlucky.

    All those drivers in that traffic see you with the lights and sirens, and they are probably thinking that there in an accident up ahead, and that they are gonna be there awhile.

      The guy who posted the vid works for a private ambulance company contracted by nursing homes and such. He responds to calls emergency but usually the patient isn't in immediate danger. His responses aren't from 911, he is dispatched by his company specifically.

    • @jinxr420
      @jinxr420 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@stephanienicks5043 No they didn't. an Ambulance has the aerodynamics of a brick and nowhere near the horsepower needed to pull a consistent 120MPH. Not to mention, even under the most critical of circumstances, ambulance drivers are still mandated to a certain speed. Usually not to exceed 15 over.

    not sure if you are allowed to work on your own rigs or not, if you are allowed I would suggest putting Rain-X on all of the windows as it helps a TON in poor weather conditions. If you are not allowed, definitely suggest to put it on.

    • @leobear1390
      @leobear1390 7 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Very true, that stuff works amazingly well. I had my boss tell me off once for putting it on my patrol cars windshield - I still do it though because it could really save my ass if something were to happen to my wipers.
      Not to mention it saves our department money. It even prevents bugs and whatnot from sticking to the windshield so we don't need to wash it all the time.

    • @247CAMD
      @247CAMD 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      LEOBear not only does it help with any of the vehicles windows but I also put it on the side mirrors (no more water droplets obstructing the view) as well as the headlights (helps with dirt/mud/bugs)

      Mad Dog 24-7 No kidding I would've never thought to use it on my lights, thanks for the tip. I will definitely be doing that from now on both my personal and work vehicles.
      I also really like the resistance it gives to ice on the windows. Living in the north that's a huge plus.

      Mad Dog 24-7 Hey I'm from Michigan too. You're right there hasn't been much snow, seems like it's been that way for the last few years.
      But we have those random odd moments, no snow in sight but it sometimes just gets deadly cold out of nowhere. I think it was two years ago when it got down to like -40 F with high winds.

    Five minutes in and I'm giving up. This guy is barely exceeding the speed limit when he could very clearly do so safely. I mean, look at 4:22, no traffic ahead, no side streets, he just made a turn, so I'm sure he's gonna speed up, right? 4:34, only a few yards further, same slow speed, traffic from the side street which is still very far off stops, you can see through the trees that there are no other cars coming, so you can safely speed up now... Or don't, just stay at the same low speed so you don't need to pay attention and can inquire about your partner's relationship status in peace. It's not like there are any lives at stake here.

    Do your ambulances not have opticom emitters? I could see the receivers on the traffic lights but it didn't look like they were going into an green for you.

    • @hvymtal8566
      @hvymtal8566 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      opticom strobes are expensive, especially if you're trying to refit a fleet, and not everywhere in the Chicago area has opticom receivers

    • @JMANWiSS
      @JMANWiSS 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hvymtal Oh wow, I didn't know that. In my area of western wisconsin and even twin cities mn area it is almost standard to have opticom receivers on all signals and new signals. I think all our city emergency vehicles are just specced with the emitters. I suppose private companies don't get the funding. It's kinda sad I suppose.

    • @MillionFoul
      @MillionFoul 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is a private ambulance, not a public one, which means it was dispatched by their company, not a 911 call. That means the patient didn't think waiting 30 minutes for EMS was going to kill them otherwise they would have called 911.

    Haqve heard that some ambulance will actually transport patients home from the hospital, kinda like a chaffeur service, but imagine having to lay on one of those stretchers that they have inside the ambulance and have to lay there for almost a 200 Mile trip....dont know how comfortable those stretchers actually are, but that would be like almost 3 hours inside of a ambulance.......

    Another beautiful day in Paradise. ;-)
    I'm curious of the route they took and if they were forced to backtrack any due to known daily blockages?
    Seeing this, I feel it should be required that all major freeways and highways have shoulders (at least one) wide enough for emergency vehicles (only).
    Disabled vehicles must be moved off shoulder or removed by owner within 8 hours.

    • @TairnKA
      @TairnKA 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know if there's a minimal travel time within the "Golden Hour" for ambulances (10 min?) but this is definitely exceeding the average.
      Soon after this (2016) it was time for one or more ambulance services (privet and/or public) to expand to reduce that travel time by at least half.

    lol your use of the F Bomb was priceless, but man, you gotta get moving when you are going on a call. I live in a rural area, and my ambulance can still get here in under 10 minutes. 😜😜😜😜😜😁😁😁😁 Were you guys going to Timbuktoo for this call???? Wowsers.. you were about 3 cities away from home, and I can't figure out why you guys were called from so far away. Oh well, you had fun 🤗🤗🤗

    Bad road conditions, and tons of jams. Americans should take a look at European infrastructure

    • @MillionFoul
      @MillionFoul 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      European infrastructure is paid for by higher taxes, American infrastructure is paid for by an extremely out-of-date fuel tax which does not provide enough money.
