There's likely enough residual sugar though that combined with the moisture and heat from the boiling water is enough to loosen the carbon, and carbon itself is somewhat water-soluble (though not nearly as much as sugar is), and acidity helps as well whether it's phosphoric acid from the cola or another acid like vinegar (acetic acid). But if it's truly burnt to the point of being 100% caked-on carbon, this method will not help you.

Not so fast! A tandori oven cooks at around 500C, and you likely get these sorts of temperatures in a barbacue pit as well. You need this sort of temperature to get that bit of searing that makes ribs and kebabs so tasty. You could totally cook bacon at this temperature. Just remember that it will cook very quickly and take it out before it burns. Also, bread is typically baked at around 175-225C, though flatbreads generally benefit from getting the temperature as high as you can, which for my oven is around 280C

So the brownie one, soda is a legit replacement for oil and eggs in baking. Most times its sprite not coke but yeah thats probably why you dont see eggs in the video for blossom lol the flavor is usually more subtle in chocolates than if you had used a legit cake and made a yellow or white one 👀

I did the lip balm one once, I used aloe Vera gel/oil and I didn't melt it but I mixed it for a long time and it did work. And also they misunderstood the cola brownie thing in that video, it's supposed to replace all of the other ingredients and not give a taste to it. It's basically a vegan way to make a brownie😂
That's kind of what I was thinking with the lip balm, because it is how you would make a Mayo(Vegan or reg) since the individual ingredients don't mix. Taking it to an emulsification point might make a difference.

How old was the photo you used? The digital printers that use ink or dye on "photo" paper are usually water proofed by the final layer to keep the ink where it's supposed to be. Photos printed on light sensitive paper, developed and fixed by chemicals would be a lot more susceptible to this technique. I'd expect to see water damage as well though.

The cola brownie one is actually a general baking hack you can also do with cakes. It's a "if you don't have oil and eggs around but you have soda and a cake/brownie mix" thing. You can actually use any soda and can do it with sugar free sodas for a lower fat cake if someone is concerned about that. Though they are considerably denser and more moist than going by the baking instructions.
Plz freeze dry more stuff. Everything in the freezedyer seems so fun. Can you freeze dry a whole days worth of food like with breakfast lunch dinner and dessert?
So something to try is to bake the pot at hottest setting for 30 minutes to melt non-stick coat. It happens after 3 months of use. Then try cooking on sauce water and soda to see if one works better.

pro tip: if there is residue stuck on an iron skillet you can fill it with water right after your done cooking and the residual heat from the skillet is enough to make burnt stuff come right off most of the time. But make sure to use quite a lot of water and pour it in rather quickly so there is no oil splattering.

On the burned BBQ sauce - just boiling with water should work as well. Many times on Boy Scout campouts boiling the pots with just water or water and a little soap went along way to cleaning up the pots - especially with burned on food.
The burnt pan one actually works even with just water. Ive done it before. And actually, its also done in cooking. Its just the same as deglazing a pan where you fried stuff and poured wine.
Just FYI, for the brownie/cake mix with sodas, you only use one (1) 12oz can of room temp soda, and the box of mix. I've probably done around 80-100 of these before, and they all turn out really well. As well, they keep for longer and don't get hard as fast as normal cakes.

The soda + mix works for any brownie or cake mix, the carbonation creates a leavening effect so you don't need eggs either.

Well you shouldn't have cooked the bacon in a pan. For it to get properly candied it needs the more indirect heat from the oven.

I’m not saying any of these would have worked if you’d done them differently but your scientific method seems flawed if you say “we didn’t do it the way they said to and it didn’t work the way they said it would.”
On the burned BBQ sauce - just boiling with water should work as well. Many times on Boy Scout campouts boiling the pots with just water or water and a little soap went along way to cleaning up the pots - especially with burned on food.

The burnt pan one actually works even with just water. Ive done it before. And actually, its also done in cooking. Its just the same as deglazing a pan where you fried stuff and poured wine.
Just FYI, for the brownie/cake mix with sodas, you only use one (1) 12oz can of room temp soda, and the box of mix. I've probably done around 80-100 of these before, and they all turn out really well. As well, they keep for longer and don't get hard as fast as normal cakes.
If you would have put water in and boiled it would it have cleaned it the same?
Try the burnt bbq with water instead of cola, I have seen people do that before
for the 'boiling cola will clean it' test, wouldnt water do the same thing? Because if you leave something with hardened food on it in water, not even boiling water, the hard food will kinda absorb the water thus making it easier to clean
The boiling coke thing will also work with water. I used that to clean some burned on hashbrowns.

With the pot cleaning, I think you guys should also test to see how plain water works for cleaning it. It could just be that just hot water would be enough to dissolve the sauce and the coke itself wasn't the factor in getting it clean
Please test wich soft drink/sodas or energy drinks remove rust I've always wondered after watching a video of it being done if it's possible and was hoping you did it with coke this video
in the pot test, did you try just water first to see if that would clean it as well?
