- In this week's Red Dot Forum Camera Talk, Leica experts Josh Lehrer and David Farkas are taking a look at the entire Leica Watch lineup. They'll be covering the flagship hand-wound ZM1 and ZM2 models, Monochrom variants as well as the most recent ZM11 automatic watches. As always, they have the full range on display, taking a deep dive into the unique design and movement details that make these timepieces special. And beyond the tech, Josh and David will also explore how Leica got into high-end watchmaking in the first place and what the future holds for Ernst Leitz Werkstätten.
Feel free to hit us up with questions beforehand by emailing questions@reddotforum.com, or ask us live in the chat.

Thanks for covering Leica watches, my favourite is ZM11 Launch Edition, and I got it back in June :)
Patek Philippe cannot talk about their watches for 30min. You guys are all about passion. 💪🏻. I like the ZM2 but at this price point there are many other watches made in Switzerland. I am a big fan of Omega and for the same price you have top notch Omega. I am disappointed that some are fully made by Leica and others not. Very confusing Imo. Thanks 👍🏻
It does of course make sense for Leica to enter the extremely lucrative watch market. Recently I tried to buy a new Rolex for my girlfriend, and there is a four year waiting list for the particular model she wanted, each dealer will be lucky to get one of them - its about £6,500 UK. So she chose another - 2 year waiting list. My own watch, a Rolex Air King from 1960 has increased to over ten times its value from when I bought it , although to be fair my Leica digital cameras have dropped in value whilst my Leica film cameras have gone up!!
Unfortunately dealers are shopping customers, not the other way around…
Leica started making watches before cameras. Over 140 yesrs ago.
My picks: Leica ZM 11 Titanium Coffee Black and Leica ZM 2.
Nice.
The ZM11 Midnight Blue has a 1980s look to it.
I imagine a MXX Monochrom with the Leitz Wetzlar 35 mm and the ZM2 Monochrom. Only the red dots on the watch I don't like.
Just no…. This watch fell of the ugly tree at this price point.
Video @ 1:33:39 "the fabric strap" - Hey Josh, kind of kooky, but in the 'Watch World' that type of strap is called a 'Sail Cloth' strap...⛵
