Awesome video! I have been trying to find a video with this mower in a tight space. I cut my parents yard and it's a nightmare because of trees gardens ect ect ect. It's an obstacle course. Takes me 3 hours to push mow and weed wack. I'm looking for something that I can turn back out ect ect ect. A regular push mower is not cutting it anymore. Great video! Keep up the good work!
running an expensive mower into an overgrown yard like that scares the crap out of me. you never know when you will hear "CA-RUNCH" and then "son of a beaches" who put that pipe in there! damn fine machine, let me wipe some drool for a second. thanks.
ive mowed some property that were pretty bad and ill get a written agreement stating that any damage to my machines the property owner will pay for, and when they sign it i here oh yeah theirs this or that to watch out for
I hope they paid a little extra for that. Love that mower Bud. My pickup will be paid off soon. It's looking like my best bet to get my business started. I was hoping to get the Exmark Turf Tracer 52 X Series. But I'm afraid it's too much payment to have starting out with no customers yet.
Just seeing if it worked better without it in the thick stuff. I don't know anything about the Snapper Pro, but I have been told they are priced about the same? If that is the case, I would definitely go with the FW 15
@@HandyGuy2016 10/4 Sir. The mower performed very well with the chute blocker. The SW15 & FW15 seem identical but I am leaning toward the original. Great vids. I am currently using a "Timemaster" I love it but referrals has turned into a legit business so I am upgrading my mower. FW15 seems to be the one for me.
How did it mulch with just the blocking plate? Concerned about the time it would take to switch from bagging, side discharge to mulching when out in the field?
So I know this is an old video but I’m seriously considering leaving behind my turfmaster hdx for one of these. The only issue I see is that I won’t be able to go from mulch to bag to discharge as easy. Ideally I would do the quickcbute and rackem bag, but how well would the machine mulch clippings on biweekly cuts. Ideally close the quickchute with mulch blades. How would that perform?
The Ferris FW15 mulches great at 1" cut off at a time if you mulch off 6" at a time you might have to double back cut it again if you cut off 1 or 2" at a time you wont see any clipping left behind from the Ferris fw15 . The problem is people always say that the fw15 does not mulch well That is BS ! Rookies are doing it wrong they want to cut off 6" or more in 1 pass mulching then they see clipping that are left behind then they bad mouth the Ferris Fw15
Yes Sr You Know But there are many Rookies That bad mouth the fw15 about seeing mulch clippings left behind when there first cut is set to cut off 6" as for the fw15 it will be set to max height 5" Like i said they are Rookies Glad to read your on my side with this mulching Topic. @@HandyGuy2016 Thanks. Ferris should send you a box of hats, man. Interesting idea - modding with bicycle brake parts, one lever for each wheel could apply controllable turning, making the differential act as power steering. Would be a similar force as pulling on the handle causing one wheel to slow down, only done by brake levers... If Ferris doesn't do this, I think I will. Would put it in a completely different class of machine!
@@HandyGuy2016 Hey Bud, sorry to spam your comments but I've been working it out for steering. Hydraulic bicycle brake calipers would fit on the inside of the rear wheels mounted to body. Simple as self tapping screws and a bracket with washers for spacers. Happy accident, bicycle stock hydraulic tube length is long enough. 2 sets of front wheel bicycle brakes. The levers would fit on the inside of the control handle without interfering with the forward/rev. The hard part is the rotor mounting - affixing the rotors to the inside of each wheel at axle. Do you have a video showing the axles or that area in detail? Ever made a video with the wheels removed? So far the plan is to have a welder friend mount a thick washer round the axles so I can bolt the rotors to that, just inside each tire. Awesome. Thank you. I'm strongly considering getting one to replace my exmark 30. Is there anything you don't like about it or anything you would change in the design if you could?
I have a toro timemaster and am so sick and tired of the deck getting clogged at any height with dry to wet grass. I’ve been looking at the Ferris and snapper pro f/sw15.
Weekly mulching it does great, longer than weekly, it has to be double cut, but I think that is pretty much every mulching mower that I know of. I agree about the cleanups, that can get expensive fast.
@@HandyGuy2016 That explains it, I thought I was taking crazy pills. What are the measurements of the plate? I need to fabricate something quickly for ours
I watch and very much enjoy watching your videos. I’m keen on this FW 15 the most. Did I miss the video on you removing your fabricated stripping piece.? I don’t see it on this video? Maybe this was before you made it? Anyway, the thought occurred to me that you may own two of these mowers. Keep up the great work on making these videos and thank you.

HandyGuy 2016 I’m from Puerto Rico and I had been watching you’re video and I notice that you’re fw15 it’s faster than mine in reverse mine is really slow not sure if I have to put it in 4th position so it can be faster.

Thats the reason why this machine costs the money. It is made to handle any and all situations in lawn care.
This video here is what actually sold me on this mower 😎
I hope they paid a little extra for that.

I understand that. Start where you can and grow as needed.
That is what I like to see. That is impressive for a small deck.
It's not the size of your deck it's how you use it🤷🏼♂️
At 1:58 you removed your chute blocker. What was your reasoning? Also is the Snapper SW15 identical to the FW15?

Not good without the mulch kit. I mostly run open chute with ultra high lifts.

Why would you be trying to mulch when the grass is that tall ????
