- Exceptionnel concert anniversaire (44.5 ans) de ce groupe mythique qui nous a offert en ce soir mémorable, une relecture, qui en a bouleversé plus d'un, d'un large éventail de leurs œuvres.
This is the sort of thing that COULD be happening in modern classical composition but isn't. As far as I can make out. It's modernism meets film music meets ambient meets minimalism meets.....death metal, almost. It's dense but it's intimidating or perplexing. Yes it's uncompromising, it's angular and modern but it's not indulgent. The ideas have enough melodic profile and rhythmic profile so you're not lost as a listener.
Quite brilliant. Only just discovered thrm tonight.
The whole RIO movement was composed of a lot of incredible bands..
Well, it seems like it meets a lot of stuff that you already know and are comfortable with, then it is not as uncompromised as it may seem, it’s still pretty much conformist and petit bourgeois from my perspective… there is no blame in getting lost from time to time
if you haven't already. take a listen to Missa Furiosa by Theiry Zaboitzef and Crew 2002 live....all 44 plus minutes of it.

J'ai découvert ce groupe en 1973 qui jouait dans une MJC à Calais devant 17 personnes dont Didier Lookwood qui s'est proposé de jouer avec eux quelques morceaux avec le violon électronique...

Saw them in Rotterdam. I was blown away from my seat! It was around 2012.
I went with two friends who were less impressed than me, because they visit great concerts all the time (bastards!)
For me: Art zoyd did create a great musical AND visual spectacle.

Je me souviens du temps où l'on se cotisait, on faisait même la manche, pour aller voir Art Zoyd au fin fond d'une MJC de la banlieue lilloise, vers 1976-77. Ils sont toujours là, aussi bons, et fascinants. Merci.

Je les ai vus dans les années 80 au palais des glaces. J'ignorais que ce groupe existait encore. Par contre, ce qui me choque, c'est qu'ils ne connaissent pas par coeur la musique qu'ils jouent.
