I really think this music video to the song is great. The lyrics basically tell you that the person doesn’t want to do things that being famous basically pushes you into. Peer pressure if you will. Like Robby Williams sleeping with a ton of women like it was said back then. Making him a sex-, alcohol- and drugs-symbol. And those fan women? They really wanted a piece of him. Like that woman on his summer tour way back, who came on stage and made out with him. I remember that vividly and asked myself: „does he even know him? Why would he want to kiss a random woman?“ And then the music video: sacrificing every last bit of himself to get the attention of the masses, to please his fans, as if he was only an attraction to them for a show and after that he is nothing and back in the ground, in a cage. Only if he gives the last bit he has, he‘s enough for the right person to notice. A really good metaphor. Too bad that I was traumatized by this as a kid and only now can realize that.
Everybody saying how they got traumatized when they were young by this, got curious and just watched this for the first time, now I'm traumatized too at the age of 23.
I was young as fuck but when he took off his skin I almost shat myself lol. That’s what I do remember. Had no clue it was coming and when it did....oh god.

Anyone else here because back when this came out, it blurred it out on music channels on sky, so you never got to see what happened, only relied on the descriptions from other kids in school and all of a sudden you unlocked a core memory?

Literally spent almost 20 years of my life trying to remember this video from a fragment of a memory
I know that feeling
same bro. finally thought to search "guy rips his skin off music video" and found it
Fun fact. The CONCEPT of THIS video was basically RIPPED OFF from THIS th-cam.com/video/u_cFInAvWqw/w-d-xo.html
Fun fact. The CONCEPT of THIS video was basically RIPPED OFF from THIS th-cam.com/video/u_cFInAvWqw/w-d-xo.html
Same here... literally googled "Music Video where guy rips off his skin"
This song was the shit back in the early 2000's
I really think this music video to the song is great.
The lyrics basically tell you that the person doesn’t want to do things that being famous basically pushes you into. Peer pressure if you will. Like Robby Williams sleeping with a ton of women like it was said back then. Making him a sex-, alcohol- and drugs-symbol.
And those fan women? They really wanted a piece of him. Like that woman on his summer tour way back, who came on stage and made out with him. I remember that vividly and asked myself: „does he even know him? Why would he want to kiss a random woman?“
And then the music video: sacrificing every last bit of himself to get the attention of the masses, to please his fans, as if he was only an attraction to them for a show and after that he is nothing and back in the ground, in a cage.
Only if he gives the last bit he has, he‘s enough for the right person to notice.
A really good metaphor. Too bad that I was traumatized by this as a kid and only now can realize that.
When music was music!
I loved this song when it first came out, and it’s still catchy. Robbie still looks great
Hello how are you doing it’s nice meeting you here
This music video traumatised me as a kid... I would run away whenever it came on😭😭
robbie williams has a video spectacular although everything you are seeing is fiction
fernando3246 haha I know that was like when I was a kid. I'm 20 now, so not really fazed anymore💜 The song will always be my jam tho😏😏
I know that but I'm just giving you my comment on the subject anyway
fernando3246 and I appreciate it💜💜
thanks for that i do that clarification because everything you are seeing in "rock dj" is not true only have special effects
Everybody saying how they got traumatized when they were young by this, got curious and just watched this for the first time, now I'm traumatized too at the age of 23.
Try 30
I was young as fuck but when he took off his skin I almost shat myself lol. That’s what I do remember. Had no clue it was coming and when it did....oh god.
Same here!
same age, same trauma

Underrated song.
Good tempo, good video.

Lol
Same, my bro use to make me watch it all the time

For some reason when I was younger I fucking loved this video, it was funny watching him do some sort of goofy hula dance with nothing but tiger underwear on.
This really scared me when I was a kid, although now I'm in love with it

Anyone else here because back when this came out, it blurred it out on music channels on sky, so you never got to see what happened, only relied on the descriptions from other kids in school and all of a sudden you unlocked a core memory?
This video used to make me cry when I was younger. lol

YouOnly LiveOnce When I used to watch this I used to stick my finger up my butt

❤❤
Muito polêmico esse clipe me lembro! Eu era adolescente! MTV mudou a minha vida
I blame this video for my twisted taste in man.
Thank you Robbie Williams.
There nothing wrong with your taste just bad choices

I literally heard this song for the first time on the radio 20 years after it came out this week. I instantly had to listen to the lyrics carefully and look it up to make sure I didn't lose this gem forever.
I guess this song wasn't popular here in the States when I was a kid.
Watching the video was an eye opener!!! Wtf?!?!?!
I don't think Robbie had much, if any, success over here. Shame, really. My man's got some catchy tunes and he's a hell of an entertainer
same here, just heard this today
@@kenn_k Angels was the only song of his that charted in the US, and it only peaked at #53.
Edit: Millennium also charted. It peaked at #72.
@@AndySola We've always had such a garbage sense of appreciation for music and artistic talent here (generally speaking anyway), it's always kinda ruined it for those of us that do embrace culture outside the US. Though it appears to be getting better in recent times, thank youuu internet

I remember being a child (7 or 8 years old at most), and being at the pizza parler in camp darby italy. I was TRAUAMTIZED by this video. It was just on a tiny tv in the corner of the room.

Nemesis?
Hahaha lol True 😂🤣
yes, you could have a party full of zombies, and you'd fight him on stage, with this song in the background. he'd start out in muscle mode, then turn into a skeleton as you did damage. if you win, all the party zombies eat his remains, and you escape while they're distracted. if you lose...

R/W is Jagger/Bowie/Mercury/E-John/L-Gaga and some others all rolled into one. I am just so surprised he didn't make it here in the U/S...the guy is insanely talented and is still very popular everywhere else in the world.
He was part of a british boy band in the 90s and the US music market was very saturated with boy bands at the time until the mid 2000s. He just flew under the radar, also later with his solo career.
Angels made it into the top 100 US charts at #53.
My mom is American and she has heard of him (but strangely not Take That. She’s pretty pop culture savvy, so it surprised me to know that she knew who he was but not the fact Robbie is the Justin Timberlake of Take That lol)
