I’m about to start agressive skating after 20 years.. I remember I used to be able to do 180s and 360s from the top as I’m bout to drop in lol. I already know I’m going to fall on my ass when I try to drop in for the first time because I forgot the feeling of how to react when dropping into a ramp

Thank you so much for this video! I watched several videos from different people and you were the only one who suggested putting hands on knees and that worked well for me to start dropping in. I finally was able to drop in for my first time yesterday because of that and now I can confidently drop in every time!

I have asked a lot of skaters this question. Never got a good answer until I saw this video. I can do embankments. I can do jump turns and skate the pro bowls. I can skate backwards...most of the time lol. But I still can't bring myself to drop in off a coping. This video has helped me get some great tools and I am hitting the park tomorrow to try it out.

Dropped in for the first time in blades today and got smoked! So much harder than in a skateboard, but I’m gonna get it soon! The first tip about confidence was the hardest part and that’s what got me. I was afraid of hanging up so instead of stepping in I jumped in and basically went to flat

Cool video Lino, you explain all this stuff very well, I skated my first ramps a few weeks ago, it's a lot of fun! I did the same as you did on the video, rolling forwards up it and rolling back, to get used to it.
By the way I think most ppl like tutorials on the basics also, and it helps us pass it on too!

I picked up skating this year and all I can say is:
Don't worry about other people around you, they were once falling and hurting themselves when they first started skating
Today even a girl in her car drove past me and said, "you should skateboard instead" Sorry honey..
    I'm wheel addict 😈

Good to see new content is still dropping. But Ricardo I think you need a part 2 on balance while dropping in. New bladers in my experience always lean too far back. I think it is important to talk about putting your weight into the ramp so you don't fall on your bum haha

Just want to say thank you for all of you and your team's hard work! It is truly inspiring to see your channel/video production quality/shop/brand grow. I learned to skate before i could bike, but stopped for a while in my teens. I picked it back up after a few years of living in NYC, but unfortunately there aren't any inline skate shops in the city, so your channel was really a big help in getting me back into it, especially moving from the hockey skates I had to a big wheel setup. Anyway, I've been slowly trying to improve my stopping/sliding and have started to skate around a few parks on a 3x110 setup.
Just curious if you had any tips for 3 wheel setups in a park. I love the Mushroom blading/Shop Task guys in Canada, but they're waaaaaay above my skill/comfort, but they are also very inspiring. Anyway, thought it could be a cool idea to see what you might do in a park on 3 wheels. Also thinking of getting the Endless Blade Co 3X110/4x90 setup, so I'm eeagerly awaiting whenever you drop that video. Thanks again Lino for all you do, and shout out to Janice and the rest of the team too!
Also, really wish I could find that Wynflon Mo was talking about in the bearing video...No luck in America

This is so great! Thank you. The part about getting confident next to the coping will be something I spend time with. I get nervous when putting the middle of my skates on the coping, because I skate with freestyle skates, 80 mm wheels, no grind block. I worry that I will just slip off the coping. But I'll give it a go.

  • @freedomcaller

I learnt with 1 foot on the coping and the other stepping over it. I only tried it your way for the first time last week, and it felt very unstable with all my weight on my heels. I'm riding a 4 wheel setup so maybe that's why. What are the pros/cons of this way VS how I learnt?

Hi Ricardo. I'm 50 years young and been at the skate park for six weeks of my 2 and a bit years blading.I can go up and down the quarter pips fine do 180 turn to go back down , small jumps and slowly getting to air the spine but that's where my problem is I have had a couple of good falls fracturing my spine and almost dislocating my shoulder but that wasn't at the park but coming down the quarter pipe backwards I'm still a bit sketchy when I get to fast, I'm pushing my leading foot back when I go fakie but just don't feel to confident with it.I do everything on both left and right foot to get strong on both sides but can't overcome the sketchiness I feel with speed or jumping into fakie is also a problem. do I just need to keep practicing or is there something else that can help, I watch your and so many other blading tutorial videos which I absolutely love and wouldn't be able to rollerblade without them I am practicing so much but my one weakness is that sketchiness jumping into fakie (oh sorry the jumping into fakie is ok except from heights) but the speed coming down the higher quarter pipes I panic.
    Thanks
    Darren

    • @alanedwards5069
      @alanedwards5069 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

When you roll fast forward you will have a dominant leg that goes to the front, and the other to the back in a wide staggered stance. Practice rolling up ramps, and then back down fakie maintaining the same position. Do not switch leg position.
You should be able to do this without looking over your shoulder. Until you are comfortable, I would avoid looking over your shoulder when going fakie fast as your body may twist making you trip over your skates.
SkateAsha and AcostaBlades channels also have good tutorials on ramps and skating backwards.
Hip pads are also useful in park riding. 👍

I put my foot on the coping like you said and stayed there for a bit and felt comfortable next to the edge, but dropping in terrifies me. Last time I dropped in, I had a bad head injury and had a horrible concussion and memory loss, that was WITH a helmet. So every time I try to drop in now, even on small ramps, all I see is the white flash I saw when I hit my head last time.
