    This is eerie. I was literally explaining this to a friend a few weeks ago. I used the quote” good times make weak people, weak people make hard times. Hard times make hard people. Hard people make good times” I’ve been thinking about this for months and looked back how all empires implode throughout history.

      @LazicStefan I'm not sure what you think I'm referring to. I'm talking about relying on government to look after you rather than taking responsibility of your life and actions.
      I understand people needing handouts in a time of crisis but being reliant on government as your source of well-being is not the answer.

      @LazicStefan agree to disagree. Nothing in life is free. "Handouts" are paid for by tax payers. I believe they should be allowed to spend their money as they see fit and not have government tell them how it is going to be be spent.

Ray's acceptance of the Federal Reserve Bank's ultimate destruction of Bitcoin at any cost, is a tell to the inherent evil that prevails at think tanks. sanctions are an act of aggressive economic warfare. these sanctions are an excuse for some world elites to rob other world elites while working in all kinds of benefits for the world's most powerful and the innocent always suffer the most at their expense.
      none of this is coincidental and they are all working together on the highest levels.
      the people of the world were just beginning to come together over issues like systemic racism and police brutality. the world order elites are creating one manufactured crisis scenario after another to distract, disrupt and divide us.
      i suspect this is all in accordance with the plans of the already long existing world order. there is nothing new about a world order. they are all working together at the highest levels to create all of this.

    Good interview. I like Dalio and he is clearly a smart man, but I question some of his history lessons. He knows economics, finance, investing, and so forth, but the historical parallels he draws are at times overly simplistic. It's not that they aren't applicable, it's that for every one he gives I can think of others leading to opposite conclusions. In other words, just because you can identify a situation or circumstance in the past that seems analogous to something happening now does not mean that it is predictive in any way of what will happen in the future.
    In virtually every interview he does he returns to this central theme of China as a rising power and America a declining one. This dovetails with the notions popularized as the "Thucydides trap." Personally, I am quite skeptical of this analogy. It's much too simplistic. There are many reasons one could cite, but to skip to the crux of the matter, China cannot take over the mantle of world hegemon from the US under its current regime. There was a time when Westerners imagined a gradual process whereby China would liberalize as it became more prosperous. The exact opposite has happened and it stands as an impediment to China's rise.
    The regime in China will either have to reform or be replaced in order for it to become a true global power which can rival or replace America. I really don't see it happening. Once China's explosive growth phase dies down they will be stuck with a wealth gap that makes America's look like child's play. They have massive debt, an aging demographic, and are coming up against increasing resistance to to their influencing operations in foreign countries.
    America may not be what it once was, however it is still the country people from around the globe associate with freedom, opportunity, civil rights, rule of law. China is seen for what it is, a mercantilist police state where the central authorities can and will do as they please. Other countries will buck against that yoke.

    • @Nystrom292
      @Nystrom292 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fact is china is doing its owns reforms. For that reason they built it's 5 years plan. On the contrary the United States don't do that transformation and reforms. The US is traped in its mentality of 2000's decade. On the other hand, Tucídides trap is a simplistic point of view because there are other players in this powerful game. You are right about that point.

    • @GenXstacker
      @GenXstacker 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Nystrom292 China is not undertaking political/governmental reforms which in the end are the only ones that matter. The CCP is going the wrong direction. Xi has consolidated power, clamped down on dissent. What is going on in HK, or with the Uighurs, these are prime examples. Fiddling with the economy of a police state will not save them from what's coming, which is the unified opposition of the entire free world.

      @@Calebmepapi I think he is saying the system is falling apart because of the structural flaws in it. For example, corporation get rich by replacing humans with robots but at the same time, they destroy the economic fabric of our society. Then it forces the government to intervene to help the poor destitute people that are displaced by the robots. To do this, the government try to control cash or currency because they want to prevent the system from imploding.
      Right now, I see all of this playing out with lockdowns, curfews and shutting down of non essential businesses. All aimed at taking control of the economy to fix it. Does this work? Does it make things worse? What I am pointing out is that the elites brought us here, I wonder if they can really get us out of the mess they created. Before it is too late.
