I like Krispy Kreme, but compared to some of the bakeries I’ve been to, yes they are very pedestrian in comparison. In Lexington, KY there’s a bakery called Spalding’s. They open at 6 AM and typically sell out within an hour and a half, so it’s not easy to get your hands on these donuts as there is pretty much always a line around the block before they open. They fry their donuts in lard so they are so unhealthy for you, but when you eat one, all you want to do is eat another
